Affiliations
Fennec Enterprises: With the death of Samuel Summers, Heroes of Tomorrow program was shut down by Grey Lighting. Dorian was put in charge of those resources and with a handful of the former HoT employees he has formed Fennec Industries. This company has been starting in the technological market, specialized in just computers at the moment, being the best cover and way to finance the spy operations that they are executing, with shutting down as much of Malta as they can as their main goal.
Friends and Associates
- Fredrica Xavier Love,companion and fianceè. They share a home in Dark Astoria, property of Elizabeth Bloodmoon. Didn’t take long for him to notice her and pursue something more serious. Even thought they come from the opposite side of the spectrum, both share quite a bit in common and so far the relationship just seems to be getting stronger by the day.
- Elizabeth Bloodmoon A very close friend, he has come to respect her and to admire her views and dedication even if at some point they were totally different to his. Probably the only person besides FX he completely and blindly trusts.
- Wynter Maiden Daria St. Claire, headmistress of the Grae Academy. Proved to be among the first ones who really tried to help him with no ulterior motives. Has gained his respect and loyalty, he acknowledges her as the authority and acts accordingly in a nigh military level.
- Miss Sparrowhawk Iris is as young as she is capable. He sees her as a young sister which usually leads for him to be more concerned than he would be with the other older heroes, not because he think she needs it, but because he would rather have people enjoying their whole lives and not end up like him.
- Marcus Dorian’s former partner. A kitsune spirit from Arcadia who gave up his physical form and transferred his energy to Dorian so he could survive an attack from the Paragon Protectors. Holds a very special place in his life, and seeks to honor him. - After a series of yet confusing events, Marcus has managed to come back from death itself due the nature of fox spirits.
- Dr. Grey Lighting Head of Heroes of Tomorrow project. He recruited and trained Dorian. They both seem to have a very complicated relationship in which they try to outsmart the other. He turned out to be Dorian's grandfather.
Enemies
Samuel Summers, his father, is a known villain in the Rogue Isles and through Paragon. He used Dorian as a tool against his nemesis from most of his childhood. After a elaborated plot of Elizabeth to rescue Dorian's mother, they managed to capture him and by high-orders get rid of him.
Malta Group, as a spy and working on an organization similar to Malta but for the government, this group is certainly one of his most difficult enemies to deal against.
Crey and Paragon Protectors, an attack of Paragon Protectors was what put him in his coma and made Marcus give up his life to save him. They are his sworn enemies and will do whatever it takes to bring them down.
Physical
Appearance
Very athletic, at first glance people can notice his physical training which he has never dropped out. Being both quite strong and agile when compared to normal humans. His hair used to be that of a normal redhead, but now is very bright red after the acquisition of Marcus’ kitsune powers. His eyes as well have changed, being brown normally but red whenever he uses his powers or when his emotions get a hold of him. His traits are unique; those who know about these things notice a few slight Hispanic traits on him.
As a result of receiving Marcus' powers he can take the aspect of Kitsune. He would grow up a fox tail and ears, other than that it doesn't affect much his appearance, he looks more active and nimble while at it though.
Personality
He is quite cheerful and helpful most of time. Though he seems to be even More of those while disguised as Marcus(his alter-ego now), almost to the point of annoyance. Always analyzes everything, and rarely talks without being sure about something.
((OOC)) Dorian has a very peculiar way to see the world. Never underestimate other’s stupidity and harshness unless they have proved otherwise. He distrusts most people even if he doesn’t show it outright, a lot of horrible things have happened on earth that were just meant good intentions or naïve ways of thinking, everyone needs someone to keep an eye on them. Also, his training is always present in his way of thinking. As soon as he arrives a place he analyzes every part of It, people, people who could be fighting-ready, all kind of things that can be used as weapons, exits… everything. He rarely leaves a variable without consideration when it comes to this. He is really making an effort to start a new life. Before his year-long coma he wasn’t more than just a walking weapon, but by his own choice. Friends, fun, those kinds of things were just distractions and he had to stop the evils of the world even if it meant to resign to his own life. But after Marcus’ influence on him, and the gift he gave to him, he is now devoted to his life and friends.
He has a high regard of duty and responsibilities. He would never leave something that was entrusted to him without finishing it. Both his word and those things trusted to him need to be accomplished. While a bit impulsive in thoughts, he has a lot of self control most of time. Only thing that could get him to lose it would be a direct threat or attack to those really close to him.
Dorian was trained to behave depending on the situation. Protocol, etiquette, manners and all sort of social training was taught to him as part of the skills required for him as a spy. Although he can act almost any personality he can think about, and has faked almost all existent feelings and relationships, it is now that he really feels them first hand. Though it has been a bit overwhelming at first, he has adapted quite well to his new life.
In a recent turn of events, with the help of his lover FX for encouraging him and Elizabeth for agreeing to go into his mind, he has overcome his compulsion to follow orders. Dorian seems more cheered up, and while his personality hasn't changed he now takes more the initiative and his determination are starting to encourage others as a leader.
Powers
- Fire Generation: He holds great control over fire. He is able to generate and control his flames with ease and with great potency, being a force to be reckoned. He is usually able to track heath and his own body temperature is warmer/hotter than an average human.
- Super Speed: He is also cataloged as a speedster. He can move at very high speed. This is a general trait of his body and his his primary mutation, and as such he can think at a very high speed, going generally through things in a blink of an eye, effectively looking at the world in a kind of slow-motion.
- Teleportation: Dorian cans also teleport himself over great distances. If he knows the whereabouts of something or someone he can do the same with them. His teleportation works almost instantly, being able to undo and redo the molecular structure due to the high speeds that he can move them.
- Chameleonic properties: He is able to focus the above mentioned powers to blend with his environment, being very hard to spot if he wants to, making this a very useful power for scouting and infiltrating.
- Minor Telepathy: As a result of the tortures he went through as a child, his father managed to halt all of his possible psychic potential. It was unknown to him until recently that he might have become quite the telepath if his father hadn't messed with his mind. Now, just a small trace of this remains, and he can use Telepathy with those very close to him, his new family, trying this with strangers would prove very difficult and he hasn't give it a try yet.
Powers Variations
(OOC): The game has just one way to present the powers, and I won't complain, the game has lot of customization but most of the powers aren't the way I imagine them. So I thought it would be nice to give you my take on how Dorian uses his powers.
- Dorian's Fire Swords: Most of time Dorian wields two fire Katana generated by his own powers. The signature attack of these is a 360º attack using his super speed. RP wise, if he is at melee range and uses one of the game's ranged attacks, like Flares, Fireblast, or Blaze, he is actually using his swords for these, the long range versions of these powers are mostly handled as slashes that release the projectiles to the targets.
- Kitsune's Infernal Raise: When Dorian falls in combat, the question is when he is going to raise again. Being with or without body, even from his ashes, he will focus and get back on his feet ready to fight again. A pair of huge Wings appear on his back, as well as 9 fox tails that stretch in all directions hitting all enemies around him.
- Annihilation: Dorian can focus all of his powers, compressing it within his own body, to the point he just cant keep it within himself and all his body explodes. This move is certainly extreme, and he usually increases it's impact while holding a certain enemy, much to the dismay of Elizabeth.
- The Last Ride: It is pretty much the same as Annihilation, but he releases the power before it blows himself up. Some think it is as effective, but it does leave him tired and unable to use his powers unless he drains all the heat on his surroundings back to him.
Abilities
- Advanced computer knowledge: He has been trained to hack and infiltrate networks as part of his spy training.
- Science Knowledge: Being able to go through great chunk of materials, having a dedicated teacher for him only, and always wanting to know more. Dorian has a pretty good knowledge on most science and math fields, even taking as a sort of hobby to create things. While required a lot of testing, with proper planning he can create a few things of his own.
- Deception/acting: Trained for work undercover, he can hold an act for quite long in a very convincing way.
- Mental Shielding: He was also trained to shield his mind, though his mind was quite resistant due his father making it that way so only he could take control at some point. Being able to think as fast as he can, a good chunk of his concentration is focused on his own mental ward to keep intruders out. While this only affects people peeking it, people forcing their way will trigger a big pain as he will keep trying to get them out.
- Reading People: Dorian knows how to read body language, heat signatures and is also quite good to read Microexpressions on people. The fact that he's a speedster and can look at a person in a sort of slow motion, helps with some of these that happen in a fraction of second. So he can usually say a person's mood, or if they are being honest or not via observation.
Weaknesses and Limitations
- While not apparent, Dorian is still new to genuine social interaction. And while most of times happen naturally, to others he can really look like being harsh or insensible.
- ((OOC: This part is left here for historic purpose, after Elizabeth's help he lost his compulsion to follow rules))He has a very hard time going against authority, and during certain circumstances he would even go against things he believes if the person he acknowledges as his authority decides so. In his mind, he is meant to follow, and those who lead need their orders to be followed or else they would fail.
- Being able to think so fast is both bliss and curse. He already has reasons to be paranoid, but the fact that he tends to over think things too much really adds up to this issue.
Opinions and Quotes
Dorian really dislikes magic. Magic can be inherited, or just triggered with sets of words, even finding magical amulets. Magic things are mostly accidents just waiting for a place to happen. Science is controlled, and even then it requires years of study, not just having Mu blood or similar trigger. The same way he dislikes magic, he has a hard time with psychic powers. He was controlled through most of his childhood. And though he has a few friends with psychic skills, he despises mind control and only one person he has let inside his mind after he let them to keep them out. Even in times of needs, if it’s required to enter in his mind, he would probably be against it and won’t let it, except maybe for Elizabeth Bloodmoon.
He believes that the use of power is sometimes needed. To kill certain enemies is necessary. Villains don't give second chances, so they shouldn't be given any if that would bring out more mayhem later. He does believes in redemption and second chances, but he doesn't believe in being a fool... A quote that defines this clearly is "If they had killed Reischman instead of turning him into a Popsicle I wouldn't be here now busting my ass cleaning up Phalanx's mess"
