Dread Requiem
From Unofficial Handbook of the Virtue Universe
((OOC:)) Dread is my very first Warshade, after CaptainCrisis hit 50. He is a blast to play, and to RP. If you were wondering about the name, Dread comes from the Kheldian half, and Requiem is a song for the dead. Since he is so sensitive to the violence in Paragon, and is very much against it, it seemed to fit that he would mourn any kind of a loss. And as such, I introduce to you the reader, the feared; Dread Requiem.

Overview
Dread Requiem is a Warshade. This means he was once became a pure-darkness creature called a Nictus, but has changed from possesing unwillful hosts, to only fusing with those who are willing.
Backstory
A very dark shade. He stalked his prey, he hunted them down. Finally converging with them against any small ounce of will. He was what is known as a Nictus, an evil creature that possess beings. He became very powerful, and very deadly. Finally, he thought he had found the perfect host. A human known simply as Drake, was spotted. He could easily feed Dread, and make him ever more vicious. But Drake wasn't quite the normal citizen of Paragon. Sure, he didn't have any 'super powers' like these so-called heroes did, but he was very strong willed, and one of the brighter citizens of Paragon. He was never mugged, never used in a Circle of Thorns summoning, but he wasn't sure why. He could see the crime all around him, but it was as if he was looking at it all from a window. Dread would have noticed that this human was special, that he shouldn't attempt anything, no matter how starved he became. But he was too cocky, too powerful, too blinded. So he did as he always had, stalking his prey, hunting them down. Finally, he attempted to converge with Drake. To feed on a host once more. But when he tried to overcome Drakes mind, he failed. Drake had mind of steel, his spirit strong. Without Drake's knowledge, his mind launched a counter attack. It blasted Dread with memories. Yes, memories! Memories of terrible times, of robbery, of death, of all these evil things. But then he struck down Dread, with a single memory. A Memory of what having a family was like, of the joy, and the love. And some part of Drake must have overcome Dread, for when the fusion was complete, Dread had the feelings of a normal human. Well, not normal of a Paragonian human, it was a sensitive in its thinking. It wasn't numbed to pain or robbery, blood or violence.
Dread's Birth
Perhaps it was this sensitivity that caused it, or perhaps it was due to the fusion, he wasn't sure. But whatever the cause, the body's head had become devoid of life, no hair, no skin, eyes, lips, nostrils, cheeks, nothing. All that was there, was the skull. Perhaps upon seeing the violence of Paragon, the muggings and rape, he felt so morally wrong, he destroyed himself to make his case. But the Nictus that was Dread, it acted quickly. It created a film of negitive nictus energy completely encompassing the skull, giving it a very metallic look, but allowing it to function normally. He sees through eyes of negetive energy, which seep out through the holes where his eyes should be. With this newfound sense of morallity, he may just become the hero Paragon needs, even if he may look stranger than most.
Personality
Dread is a very grim person. Coming to grips with a world like this, so full of hate and angst, he does not enjoy his existance. He tries to make due, trying to fix what he can, but for the most part, is very morbid in his thinking. He would of become insane a long time ago, but the Nictus is strong, carrying him even with such feebled thoughts. He is never very cheerful in the least, but upon doing something very goodwilled, such as rescuing a hostage, his personallity does seem to lighten, if only for a moment.
Powers
Dread has lost all of his former powers. Luckily, as he defeats more ill-hearted people, he regains these powers. They are from the nictus inside him, and can be used for a number of applications.
Nictus Energy
The dark energy of Dread can be used in numerous ways. It can be used to do damage to those that would harm him, or protect him from those very same foes. he can make shields out of the energy, and can use various negitive energy snares and blasts.
Teleportation
The Nictus energy allows Dread to shift dimensions, if for a moment. In this alternate dimension, he moves much much quicker, so that when he returns to this dimension, it seems he transported there instantly. He can also transport allies and foes through this same method of travel to him.
Transformation
Dread was once an evil Nictus. During this time, he had two other hosts. One was a creature from Ren'taur, it was very feeble in its physical abilites, but it could harness energy very efficiently, and could fly. The other creature was from Kinlo, this creature was extremely durable. It could teleport, but was otherwise rather slow. It could also drain an enemies energy, for both health and power, but its physical attacks could be a little lacking. Dread has recently recalled his abilites, and can now become the energy creature from Ren'taur at will. However, it may take more time before he can recall how to become the creature from Kinlo.
Weaknesses and Limitations
There is a group known as the Void Hunters. They sell Quantum weapons to local gangs in Paragon, and even have their own patrols in important areas. These Quantum weapons are specifically designed to kill Kheldians. Because of this, Dread has to very carefully take them out. He either tries to kill them outright, or hold them before they can act. Either way, arresting never is an option with members of this group.
Affilations
Dread is affiliated to another Warshade known as Shadowstar. He has completed many tasks for her, and shall complete many more. She is one of his only true friends in this world.
The Future According to Dread
Dread hopes to regain all of his lost powers, and then take on more powerful foes. Perhaps stop the Rikti Invasion, or outrightly bring down Recluse. Either way, he has a long way to go, and many people to meet.
