History
Born to Kōsaka Masanobu and Kōsaka Reika on December 1st 198_, Tsunayoshi was a decently normal child. He enjoyed school, even if he was considered somewhat of a “nerd” for his love of all things historical. It had been his goal to become an archeologist for as long as he could remember, and he strove for that goal. Studying constantly, he didn’t have many friends. His one best friend Takeda Daisuke (the irony of their friendship was not lost on young Tsunayoshi) was his only confidant of his ambitions, and it was through him that he started to train in the art of the sword.
He had been twelve when the bullying at first started. At first, it was the usual pushing around and knocking books out of hands. However, eventually it started to escalate well beyond that, until one day on his way home he was beat up without any provocation at all. It was then that Daisuke had saved him from his assailants, and a deep friendship was born.
The pair was inseparable. Tsunayoshi was happy to have a friend who didn’t make fun of him and would listen when he geeked out about history or any such thing. Of course, they had different ambitions, Tsunayoshi wanted to be a historian, and Daisuke wanted to be a politician, but they still managed to attend the same college. Unfortunately, when the pair graduated it was time to take separate paths. Daisuke was from a wealthy and influential family and chose to move to the United States to further his education and gain an understanding of the world around him. Tsunayoshi stayed behind.
Having his best friend halfway across the world left Tsunayoshi a bit defeated. To combat the feelings he threw himself into his new work as an assistant at the Eisei Bunko Museum in Tokyo. Tsunayoshi worked at the museum for five years before one day an odd package arrived. It was addressed to him and it was from Daisuke. When he opened the package there was a single sword, an old map and a note addressed to him. The note simply stated “Come to Paragon.”
It was an odd request, but when Tsunayoshi laid his hand upon the sword he felt a surge of electricity move through his body. Whatever, Daisuke had found it was big and he wanted Tsunayoshi to come to this Paragon. Who was he to refuse his best friend?
Personality
Tsunayoshi would be the first to admit that he was a nerd. He enjoys history and stories of the past more than anything. He can also be considered a wallflower of sorts, preferring to sit along the sidelines than engage in the ruckus of the dance floor. He is a kind and caring individual, even if he can be gullible and easily taken advantage of at times. He is fiercely loyal and would give anything for a friend. Extremely intelligent when it comes to history and the past, he’ll be the very last person to get a joke in the room. He tends to get very nervous around crowds or people with "larger than life" personalities. When nervous he grows quiet, studders and completely forgets the English language.
However, given a sword he becomes calm and collected, as if the sword was a security blanket or something similar in nature.

Ancestry
- Kōsaka Masanobu
Masanobu, the son of a certain Kasuga Ôsumi no Kami, served Takeda Shingen first as a page, and then as a general, guarding the northernmost reaches of the Takeda domain at Kaizu castle. He played an important role during the Fourth Battle of Kawanakajima (1561) by leading a raid on the Uesugi positions at Saijô Mountain. Discovering that the Uesugi had already departed (to attack Shingen himself on the Hachiman Plain), Masanobu fought his way to attack Kenshin's army from behind and rescue his lord's faltering army. During the Nagashino Campaign (1575) he was probing Uesugi Kenshin's defenses in northern Shinano and hastily marched south to protect Takeda Katsuyori's retreat when he learned of the latter's defeat. Nonetheless, he seems to have been generally ignored by Katsuyori and left to guard the fringes of Takeda territory.
He is attributed with at least part of the preparation of the Koyo Gunkan, a record of the events surrounding the Takeda since the rise of Shingen, although the bulk (if not all) of the text was probably written by Obata Kagenori years later.
