Origin
Lost and possibly last member of a species of avianform sentients from a distant star (whom human xenoethnographers have taken to calling the Kyhh), with incredibly sophisticated auditory & visual communication forms, forming a vast hyper-mind when many are in the same place. In isolation, individuals still display astonishing levels of prescient ability. Initially paranoid and hateful of humans, Emerald's life was saved by the Doctor in passing, and after breaking into torchwood facilities on the Rogue Isles and learning of his character, she dedicated herself to helping humanity and awaiting the Doctor's return.
Appearance
An enormous hexapodal hummingbird, feathers in iridescent green and pearly white.
Personality
Like all her species, having grown up as part of a hive mind, ES herself does not have many of the nuances and idiosyncrasies that humans pride themselves in. It is a common mistake to suppose, especially for those aware of her prescient powers, that she is little more than an animal with incredible powers.

The advanced needler weapons Emerald Sabrewing carries fire rapidly repeating gaussian-propelled projectiles with a neurotoxic payload, like those developed for Arachnos Widows, from whom she stole them.
