When a bit of psionically-charged ooze crawled out of a storm drain on a rainy day in Atlas Park, it took on the physical shape of the first person it saw. This happened to be the heroine Ms. Liberty, who noticed the unusual creature as it approached curiously. She'd seen many strange newcomers to the city climb the steps toward the Atlas Monument, and she naturally assumed the girl in front of her was a new hero. The mind-reading ooze assumed that Ms. Liberty must be correct and realized that she probably was a new hero, just like the nice lady thought. "Hi there!" said the famous heroine. "Nice costume! You look like some kind of Goo Girl!" Goo Girl smiled, grateful that Ms. Liberty had taught her her name.
