ORIGIN
Though Kay was born on earth her mother came from the Siss plane of the 7 planes of Meraneer. The people on those planes are divided into human and witch, the witches being a mutation. Their magic, tied to spiritual and mystical connections, makes them powerful and useful.

Tattoo of Identification- Uses spelled ink that includes in its mixture the soil from Siss. Kay's Tattoos of Identification are as follows: Left side
Tattoo of Loss- Uses spelled ink to capture a single memory - a picture and word. Kay's Tattoo of Loss is a calligraphic H of her own design located just above her ankle bone on her right foot. It holds the memory of Helen.
Tattoo of Binding- Uses spelled ink that includes the soil from where the individual died. Various ingredients can be included, strengthening the bind. Kay's Tattoo of Binding is a long rectangle from below her left breast to even with her belly button. It is rectangles inside rectangles. The dark of space with stars and the glow of light. This tattoo was mixed with Will's dried blood and soil from where Starblaze died. It also includes Kay's blood which in its composition contains residual quantam energy from the last time Will and Kay had sex. Tia - the mage specializing in tattoos who works closely with Kay's Mom - bound that energy to Kay's life - which gives the white of the tattoo a very soft glow reminiscent of the Kheldian.
WHAT KAY BELIEVES
