The Home Planet
He was born on a far off planet (the name of which has been kept a secret for Jim's entire stay on Earth) Draco, son of Aaron and Mara. He stands before us today here in Paragon City Jim Justice, television megastar. How did this transformation happen you ask? It's a surprisingly short simple story, believe it or not. Draco's father Aaron was a factory worker, "honest work" he always said. Draco grew up hearing stories from his elders of far off places with heroes and villains, the struggle of good and evil, and the fame and fortune these larger than life creatures achieved. Draco eventually came to the realization he wanted nothing to do with his fathers way of life, simple living wasn't in Draco's blood. He wanted more. When Draco came of age, in human years about 30, he decided to venture to the famed "planet of heroes" called Earth. The place from the stories of his childhood. Even in the face of complete outrage from his father, he left home to look for his fortune, his future, his place in the universe.
Earth, The (re)Birth Of Jim Justice
After a trying time venturing through the galaxy, Draco found his way to Earth and the legendary "city of heroes" Paragon City. No home, no friends, no money, and no idea how to get into the hero-ing business. Enter Sid Goldstein. Sid was in marketing for a local television station, always on the look out for the next big thing in entertainment. Wandering through Atlas Park, Sid layed eyes on this strange kid peering up at the huge statue of Atlas and knew right away he'd found something special. It didn't take long for Sid to have young Draco covered in contracts, swimming in merchandise deals, and living a brand new persona.. that of classic 30's and 40's era hero Jim Justice. Being Sid's favorite hero from his childhood.. and having swindled the rights to the name and trademark away from the originals widow.. Sid figured Draco would be a perfect fit. And he was. After some training from the best in the hero-ing business, stacks and stacks of reading material on American history.. both super hero and non super hero related, and of course, a spiffy new costume. Draco was no more, he was indeed Jim Justice!
Television Mega Star etc.
It didn't take long for Sid to wheel and deal Jim into several television deals. The first, a Saturday morning children's show hosted by Jim called Jim Justice and his Justice Pals.. remember that old Mario Brothers show from back in the 80's? Hosted by a live action Mario but "jumping into" a cartoon halfway through, same deal here. Jim also got his own late night network drama Jim Justice: SVU where he solves Paragon's grittiest sexually based offenses. Very adult.
Bad Bad Dudes
Jim's arch nemesis comes in the form of a rogue army commander that calls himself General Bedlam, the leader of the misguided strike team Bedlam's Brawlers. Once one of our governments best kept military secrets, Bedlam and his men went a-wall and retreated to the Rouge Isles to dispense their own form of violent twisted justice. Having been thwarted by Jim several times, Bedlam has begun targeting Paragon's favorite television mega star alien, even going as far as to attack him during an on location shoot of his hit late night drama Jim Justice: SVU. As the tension grows between these two, as does the intensity of their encounters, its only a matter of time before Bedlam declares all out war on our favorite intergalactic children's television mega star slash super powered alien.
Out Of Character Business
I based the character's personality off of The Tick, only just a teensy--bit more obsessed with the fame and fortune of it all. I love goofy Tick-esk hero stuff, very lighthearted, very silly. In the end its sort of a weird amalgam of The Tick, Superman and DC hero Booster Gold.. goofy, noble and loves the spotlight. Feel free to drop me a line in game, I'm always down to meet new people and have some fun roleplaying.
