Personality
Kid Olympus tries desperately to live up the standards of heroes of old, especially of the Golden Age of Heroes, during WW2, this sometimes makes him come off as a bit strict or even rigid with his decisions.
Powers
Kid Olympus calls forth a divine bolt of power from Zeus himself and is bestowed the power to become an avatar on Earth for the being, as such he is granted phenomenal strength and endurance. At present his strength has been measured in tons, as he can bear about 100 tons of weight with only some effort. His body becomes nigh-invulnerbale being able to sustain brutal amounts of punishment with little to no effect, he has been seen taking anti-tank fire and simply standing there as it exploded against him doing nothing. His body can take extremes of heat/ cold and various types of energy with little damage, and due to the divine nature of his power he is able to fly without any need for any external assistance. Mystics at MAGI have attempted to fathom the depths of his power and have decided that he is only now beginning to touch the outer levels of it, as he grows older his powers will increase in strength and new powers might appear.
Other Power Information
Beyond the powers mentioned Kid-Olympus seems to possess a keen sense of what is right and wrong. Through unknown means he is able to discern truth from lies, apparently this is a mystical ability and is rarely ever wrong, he can see through illusions and can tell when someone is lying. It has also been shown that Kid-Olympus can survive in the vacuum of space for prolonged periods, typically no more then an hour with no ill effects.
Costumes
Character History
It began with the words, at least that's how it seemed to young Joshua Peterson. But as he spoke them at his grandfather's bedside and transformed for the first time into Olympus he knew it began much farther in the past, that it involved so much more. Still as the bolt struck him for the first time and he felt the awesome power roll through his body in waves, he somehow recalled how he had gotten here.
Through most of his life Joshua had been keenly aware of his families lineage. His grandfather had been the mighty hero Mr.Olympus, he was one of the titans of the golden age of heroes. At least that's what the reporters had called it. One day the world was at war, Germany was invading countries and people were dying and the next, heroes emerged, as if from on high. The world had never seen their like, one reported called it, "The Day the Gods Descended", and Joshua could easily understand how this could've been seen that way. Mr.Olympus, Torch Titan, Hooded Cowl, Gentleman Ghost, Black Fox and so many others came to the aid of the allies and helped turn the tide of the battle.
Joshua remembered looking through all the scrapbooks his grandmother had collected, there had been pictures of these heroes battling the Nazis like a force of nature. One had Mr.Olympus holding a german tank over his head, getting ready to hurl it at the enemy troops. He had looked at that picture over and over again, wondering what it must have felt like?
Still those days seemed so far removed from him as he attended his classes in Paragon High, there his only concerns where classes, homework, sports and girls on occasion. No bigger enigma confused him so much as how he could get Rene to notice him. Joshua loved sports, he excelled at them, and life was pretty good. Every Sunday he would take the tram to Talos and visit his grandfather at the VA Hospital, but he knew time was running out for him. The once mighty hero was dying to cancer, and all the powers he possessed had seemingly fled him. Joshua never really understood how this could've happened, but he was sad for the loss of someone so great. On one visit his grandfather had told him he had a gift for him, something he would give him before the end, but he would say no more. So when his grandfather had asked to speak with him one last time, he had no clue it would be this,....this power.
As the bolt transformed him, inside and out, Joshua could see where it had all come from. A temple shone in the distant past, a temple to the mighty Zeus, King of the Gods. A jewel was fashioned by mystics of that era for the purpose of creating a protector, someone to save them from the scourge of the worshippers of Hades, Lord of the Underworld. Hade's minions were free from their infernal prision and killing at will. The worshippers of Zeus begged for help and a seer had answered, they fashioned a blue crystal and imbued it with mystical energies. They placed it on a sacred alter and there, Zeus struck it with his mystic bolts of lighting for 3 days. Once the third day abated, it was ready, and a champion was chosen, he took up the crystal and spoke the words "Oh Mighty Olympus!" and was struck by a bolt from on high, becoming the first Olympus. He drove back the hordes of Hades and saved the people, the crystal was then placed in the temple and eventually lost to time. That is until his grandfather stumbled upon it while visiting Greece just before the war. He took it as a souvenir and thought nothing of it, until dreams began to plague him. In the dreams he stood before a throne in the heavens and a being of blinding light, holding a lighting bolt, shined down upon him, speaking with a thunderous voice "The world will again need a hero, it will need Olympus, heed my words,....when need is dire, speak the words, Oh Mighty Olympus, and be reborn.!!!" So when germany declared war on America and Pearl Harbor was bombed, Michael Peterson spoke the words for the first time, and became Mr.Olympus, with the power of a raging storm.
It was all so clear to Joshua now as the bolt abated and he stood there, the inheritor of the mantle, the power and the words. He looked down at his grandfather and smiled "I swear i'll make you proud..." his grandfather looked up at him, eyes glistening with pride and joy. "You already have..." and the torch was passed.
Trivia
Kid-Olympus is the leader and founder of the All Star Teen Sentinels, he started the group as an attempt to safeguard the little people and help guide young heroes to being greater heroes in the old tradition. His Captains are Schattenmaus and Bodkin-Girl.
