Origin

Yokosuka, Japan

Kireme was born as John Terrel in San Diego, California, but this is not where his story begins. His father was in the Navy, and when John was three years old, his father got stationed in Yokosuka, Japan. This was where their family lived until a great tragedy befell them. By the time John was seven years old, his father had racked up a huge gambling debt with the Yakuza.

His father's neglect to pay off the debts ended up with a group of Yakuza storming their apartment and killing his father and his mother. John avoided death by hiding under his parent's bed, as instructed by his father, when the Yakuza initially broke in.

After witnessing the death of his parents, John waited until the Yakuza had left before storming out of the apartment and banging on the neighbor's doors for help. There was only one person who had answered the cries for help. He was an old japanese man, and long time resident of the apartment building. He also happened to be one of the council members of an organization of assassins, known as the Kotonashi. The man's name was Saitou Hideaki.

Saitou had previously been in an argument with other council members over the ability of someone from the west to be able to fill the role of a ninja. Saitou thought it an amusing concept, while other council members were set on the tradition of all their ninjas coming of japanese origin.

After Saitou ran a background check on John and discovered that his parents were the closest thing to family he had, Saitou enlisted John into the organization. Saitou did not give John any choice in the matter, but he did assure him that he would be able to avenge the death of his parents.

Life As An Assassin

To even be considered to be a part of the Kotonashi, John had to have everything of his past erased. He had his finger prints burned off, any electronic record of him erased, and no longer went by his actual name. From the age of seven, he trained in the art of the ninja, until the age of seventeen where he took part in the trials which would decide who would become a ninja of the Kotonashi out of the small group of participants.

The once-named "John", passed the trials just barely. Everyone else who fails the trials is killed, and out of the group, only one can pass. The rest of the organization had assumed that he would fail, but were disappointed when this did not happen. The once-named "John" would now be known as Hachi, which was the #8. The small group of ninjas all were assigned a number, since they had no names.

Hachi was not nearly as skilled as the other ninjas (such as the art of the ninjato, and ninjitsu.) Because of this, Hachi was always sent on the worst assignments. Being the 'scape-goat' of the group, Hachi trained that much harder to hopefully one day surpass his peers, but was only met with frustration as he never seemed to be able to. The only satisfaction he actually eventually attained was when he finally 'did' avenge the death of his parents.

Time To Move On

Once Saitou died from old age, the council immediately conspired to rid their clan of the american ninja. At this time, Hachi was twenty-two years old. They set him on an assignment to assassinate an american in Tokyo, Japan. They withheld the information that this american was an of an organization set-up to eliminate mutants considered dangerous, and control all other mutants in an effort to protect society in their own way. This particular agent had been augmented with an ability of enhanced strength. Also, the council tipped off the mutant agent, ensuring that he knew when and where Hachi would strike.

Of course, Hachi's assassination attempt failed horribly. The agent's ability of enhanced strength almost proved too much for Hachi. The council had hoped that the mutant would end up killing Hachi, but in the end, Hachi was barely able to escape with his life.

Hachi deduced that the failed attempt was the cause of the council, as he had always known of their distain for him, and now that Saitou was dead, there was nothing to stop them from getting him out of the picture. Hachi knew he needed to somehow leave the Kotonashi, but knew that they would eventually be able to track him down and kill him. His only solution was to become better at what he did, and also find protection.

As irony would have it, Hachi gained information on and tracked down the agent who had almost ended his life and presented him with a proposition. Hachi volunteered his services to the anti-mutant organization known as AoH (Allies of Humanity). In return, they would keep the assassins off of his back, and utilize him in experiments to make him more 'effective'. He would now return to America after being away for almost twenty years.

Allies of Humanity

Upon arriving at one of the AoH's facilities in Northern California, Hachi's old codename was eliminated, and he now went by the new codename 'Weapon Xi', or Xi for short. It was the name of a line of 'Weapons' which were utilized as a part of the company's project: T.M.C. (Tactical Mutant Control).

Over the course of two years, Xi went through various augmentations which never seemed to work. Eventually, the AoH labeled him as a failed project, and planned to erase his mind and implant fake memories before sending him on his way back into society. Realizing that the AoH had something sinister planned for Xi (but not knowing what it was), he decided to plan his escape, as he knew they wouldn't just let him leave voluntarily.

Waiting for the right time to escape became very difficult for Xi. Luckily, one day, the lab he resided at met with an unfortunate accident as one of their experiments met with disaster. An explosion took out a good part of the lab, and had the entire staff distracted. The experiment was supposed to be used to power a robot codenamed "Weapon Sigma", which was a part of T.M.C.. Xi used this distraction to escape the lab.

Unexpected Suprises

Moving from place to place, Xi became an assassin for hire in America, as he attempted to remain hidden from the AOH and the Kotonashi. Xi changed his name to Kireme, and wore a new outfit which was significantly more different than his old ninja garb. This was all to hide his identity, while also maintaining his status as an assassin.

After the first year of escaping the AoH, Kireme discovered that he was quickly becoming stronger, faster, and more 'aware'. Kireme deduced that those experiments back at the AoH lab were starting to pay off. Infact, another year later, Kireme also discovered that he could slightly bend the light directly around himself with his mind and make himself seem invisible. These abilities increasingly helped him in hiding from his pursuers, who both, the AoH and the Kotonashi, had made attempts to track him.

Eventually, Kireme was able to hide in Russia for three years before being discovered by two ninjas from the Kotonashi. It was Kireme's pleasure to utilize his new abilities to kill the two that had been sent to kill him.

After being discovered in Russia, Kireme finally found a safe haven to remain hidden from his enemies....the Rogue Isles.

Arriving in Rogue Isles

Climbing Up The Food Chain

In the Rogue Isles, Kireme was seen only by very few. Usually, if someone saw the face of Kireme, they did not live much longer. His ninjato blade that he has had with him ever since being a part of the Kotonashi, was always available to end the life of others, as long as there were those who had the money for such services.

Shortly after arriving at the Rogue Isles, Kireme discovered new abilities within himself as he grew stronger. Kireme was now able to bend space with his mind in order to shorten the distance between two points, known as teleportation. He first found he could teleport others, but then discovered the ability to teleport himself.

Secret Identity

Unknown by everyone, Kireme has a secret identity that he utilizes when he has to interface with people face to face, be at a place where he knows he will be seen, or when he just wants to relax. This identity is known as Shin.

Petals of the Thorn

To help himself find more work, Kireme worked up a deal, in the guise of Shin, with a certain mage who was able to enchant dead black rose petals in a way that when these petals were burned they would release a very specific energy signature. This same mage was also very adept in the ways of technology and was able to modify Shin's multi-purpose wrist unit so that its navigation system would be able to pinpoint the energy signature. This would allow Kireme to know where to find those whom need his services. He gave the petals to one of his contacts on Mercy Island to disperse among potential clients that would not waste his time. Anyone who would call Kireme forth by burning a petal and waste his time would find a swift death by his blade.

Powers

Enhanced Physical Traits

This power is an overall enhancement of every physical trait, encompassing traits such as (but not limited to) strength, speed, awareness, reaction time, endurance, and durability. Out of a scale of one to five, Kireme is classified to have a level three (LVL3) ability in this area.

Invisibility

Depending on the strength of the user, the ability to bend light can range from merely 'seeming' to be transparent, to making one's self and others around him/her completely invisible. At this point, Kireme is able to be completely invisible from the eyes of most, but requires great concentration on his end. Kireme is classified to have a level (LVL3) three ability in this area.

Teleportation

Teleporting across the city.

The ability to bend space to create a fold that skips over a certain length of space is known as a form of teleportation. This ability can range from being able to teleport a short distance to a place that a person can currently 'see' with their eyes, to the ability to teleport virtually anywhere instantly. Those advanced enough in this ability can bend their 'mind's eye' through space and mentally 'see' their destination. Kireme can currently only teleport to a place that he must see with his physical eyes, but he is also able to teleport others (only one person at a time). Kireme is classified to have a level (LVL3) three ability in this area.

Enemies

Tsoo

Even though the Kotonashi have been unsuccessful in gaining vengeance against Kireme, they ‘have’ been successful in making his life as difficult as possible as they made connections through the Tsoo. Since then, the Tsoo have made numerous attempts on his life and have thus become a brutal enemy of Kireme

Trivia

  • The tattoos on his body were given to him when he was with the Kotonashi.
  • Prefers to give many of his targets a moment of reflection before killing them.
  • When he is not on a ‘job’ he is constantly training with little time for ‘entertainment’
