Description
Obviously of latin extraction, Subject Torres is a prime example of the latin street tough stereotype. Her gang colours appear to be black (or dark grey) and maroon. When not wearing her striker gloves, her hands are wrapped in a similar fashion to a boxer. When not concealed, the subject's hands have a gnarled appearance. This is likely as a result of her mutation.
The subject often appears to have just been in a fist fight more often than not, with butterfly plasters, contusions and the like being common.
Affiliations
High up member of Sangre Diablo, possibly the gang's former leader.
Member of a small group of villains that goes by the name of Crimewave.
Personality
Very much a creature of whim.
While similar in many ways to the Trolls, Lady Sunder has a special dislike of Superadine users and will generally go out of her way to attack, deride or otherwise bring down any that she encounters. Lady Sunder has a curious relationship with a number of Trolls who have gone on to become more than their Skyway origins. It seems her dislike stems from the origin of the Trolls powers rather than the Trolls themselves.
Known to leave her enemies battered and broken but alive. Subject has no particular misgivings about applying lethal force, but seemingly prefers not to herself.
Powers
Superhuman Strength
Before incarceration in the Ziggursky facility, Subject Torres was known to have been tossing parked mid-sized cars around at the height of her short lived rampage.
Superhuman Speed
Considered a low level speedster, Subject Torres focuses most of her attention on being able to punch her foes as many times as possible in as short a time as possible. This is to say, quite a lot.
Abilities
Physical and Mental
Couple the ability to move almost faster than the human eye can follow with the ability to punch holes in armour plate with your bare hands and you have trouble. Match that with Maria's street smarts and her low cunning and you have Lady Sunder.
Training
In spite of her unpolished air, Ms Torres is a middle weight boxer of some skill who could be best described as a well rounded boxer. She has no particular weaknesses and has a wide variety of street and ring experience. While she does not train extensively to keep her skills at their highest levels, Ms Torres has excellent albeit aggressive instincts and technique.
Weaknesses
The subject's metahuman traits appeared as a result of an allergic reaction to Superadine. It is not presently known whether Superadine or its derivatives may cause unpredictable results if applied a second time to Ms Torres. Suffice to say that the results may prove, volatile.
Maria is easily frustrated by lack of action or excitement, she tends to take her frustrations out by punching, smashing or generally wrecking things until she feels better.
The more frustrated she becomes, the more predictable (and prone to destruction) she becomes.
Equipment
Minimal.
Lives out of a duffel bag but is known to maintain a locker in Crimewave's secret hideout that contains her business attire and a spare set of street clothes.
Generally wears her gang colours for the day to day and a collared shirt and pants for 'bizness'.
Character History
Trivia
- Tends to play with a coin of unknown (to her anyway) origin when she is idle.
- If she had a theme song, it would be Black Eyed Bruiser.
