The Character
Physical Description
Most commonly she is seen in black leather, with silver buckles adorning her in true stereotypical biker fashion. Shoulder-length black hair frames her face, which often carry sunglasses covering her dark brown eyes. Her wrists show the signs of tattoo work further up her arm, and her hands (and particularly her nails) are well taken care of. When the need arises matte black implanted impervium claws slide out from between her knuckles, two per hand.
Personality
Mel's a smartass, cocky, and claims she's invincible. In other words, she's similar to the average teenager. The difference is in the last of the three, as she has a valid claim on that particular area. Being from the south she tends to have a bit of an accent, but it comes and goes as she's been on the road so long. She's picked up words and phrases from all over, and incorporates them into her speech regularly. She tends to form nicknames for everyone around her. Those who she just met she usually refers to as "hun", but those she knows better (or just plain likes more from the start) she'll come up with something more creative.
Character History
Melissa went from darling little girl wearing pink dresses to leather-bearing biker chic around the age of 14. Like many teenagers she had hit her rebellious phase, and pretty hardcore at that. She met a boy, dropped out of school, took to the streets, discovered her mutation, got in trouble with that law... but the mutation is what we're here for, isn't it?
At 16 years of age she was caught in the middle of a gang war between her boyfriend's group and a rival gang. When one of them pulled a gun on the "Love of Her Life" she leapt in front of him to take the shot. One shot turned into several, and she collapsed to the ground. The shots were heard, the police were on their way, and the rival gang fled. Most of her boyfriend's gang did as well, but testifying to whatever she saw in him, he knelt and gathered her up in his arms, carefully moving her jacket to see where she was hit. He was almost in tears when the cops screeched to a halt nearby, but his expression soon turned to shock when the bullets began to push out of her body, the wounds sealing up without even a scar in front of him and the crowd of police. Everyone was stunned as she opened her eyes and smiled at him, obviously weary.
It wasn't more than 6 months later that an unknown Agency came to her town and, in their efforts to track her down, nearly killed her mother and father. That drew her attention and she gave herself over to them for study. It wasn't quite as bad as one might think. There weren't any horrible experiments on her, no. There was however a study to see how her body would react to implants and stimulants. They proceeded to surgically implant Impervium blades in her wrists, aimed out the knuckles, in what seemed to be a strange homage to the comic character Wolverine. (As it turned out, one of the team figureheads was indeed a comic book nerd as a kid.) They intended to continue this process across her body but her boyfriend, worried about her, managed to somehow get into the facility. Unfortunately he didn't make it out. He just had time to open the door to her room (more like a cell, really) when the guards caught up to him, killing him on the spot. Mel did make it out that day and went through many guards to do it, leaving plenty of bloody corpses in her wake.
Mel took her boyfriend's bike and started to roam the country. She arrived in Paragon City almost 7 years later, and is finally convinced she's found a relatively safe place to "settle", in as loosely a meaning as that can hold. Sure there are superpowered villains and strange evil groups all over, but there are enough heroes to match, and surely someone could help should the Agency find her again.

Strengths
- Regeneration - Mel's regeneration is off the charts. Wounds heal up within seconds of them happening, poisons have very little effect on her, and it's assumed that she could potentially grow back limbs in a matter of a day or two if necessary.
- Quick Reflexes - Mel's light on her feet, due to all the fights she's been in while part of her boyfriend's gang. She was an active participant, not just a bystander, so she knows what she's doing somewhat!
- Enhanced Senses - Like her fore-mentioned fictional counterpart, Mel seems to have a knack for picking things out by scent. Her hearing isn't too bad either, catching things that most would miss.
- Natural Instinct - Mel has a knack for reading into people, trusting her gut instincts to tell her what they may do next. It often leads to her seeming more skilled in combat than she actually is. Really, it's all just reflex.
Weaknesses
- Not Truly Invincible - While Mel may have incredible regeneration abilities, they can only apply themselves if they have something to work with. If something particularly graphic happens (blown up, torn to pieces, etc), she would die just like anyone else.
- Not Experienced - She does have some fights under her belt, but she's never really been properly trained. Any martial arts she knows were taught to her by someone in the gang in their spare time, not by a proper teacher. She wins fights more often out of her natural talents, instincts and mutation, rather than actual skill.

Heroes
- Chessa Amarie - Mel is seen around Chessa quite often. While it's just a crazy coincidence or something more, they spend an awful lot of time together on the same general "jobs" issued by the PPD and other organizations. Seeming rather fond of her, Mel calls Chessa "rodent" more often than her actual name. Much more often. She treats the squirrel-girl like a younger sister.
