Character History

Vanessa Kyle grew up in another dimension as the daughter of Sebastian Kyle; never suspecting for a moment that the tired, middle aged man she knew used to be a super hero known as the In-Betweener. on her 18th birthday she 'accidently' wandered into her father's private study and found all of the souvenirs from his former glory days. It was there that she learned the truth of what wore him down so much, his duties and the people that he felt he had failed. She had known that she'd had powers for a while; abusing her teleportation ability to get to class on time and dominating the teacher's minds to take it easy on her classes. But one thing she had never known was her mother. She had died when she was still an infant. Sebastian had given her the middle name Kismet, because he said that it's what it was, that he was able to find an other-dimensional version of someone he had lost.

She used the paperwork she found to travel to this dimension to help ease her father's pain, only to discover that through her actions, she had cut herself off from her home dimension, and all memories of it. She was stuck here, not powerful enough to make it to Portal Corp, and no clue where her home was to begin with. So she wandered until she happened to come across members of the Super Group that her father was a part of. It was awkward but they forged a sort of relationship and have become close since. She was killed by a Council Vampyr, but integration with a Kheldian moments before she died saved her life, but stripped her of much of her powers. Unable to teleport, her empathy and almost all of her telepathy was lost. But she has started to recover some of her former powers and beginning to outshine both her father and her supposed mother, whoever the mysterious woman may be
