Introduction
Rebecca was born and raised in a town of roughly 600 people on the eastern edge of Texas near the state line. Her family was well off, but her home life was a seemingly endless nightmare that culminated in her being pulled from school for 'conversion therapy'. At the end of the therapy, she remained with her family when her father's job with Crey required him to move to Paragon. Rebecca attended Paragon City University Founders Falls after getting a GED and her father paying to force her into classes she didn't want to take- namely in Business and Marketing.
Using the bountiful insurance offered by Crey, Rebecca defrauded her father in order to fund her transitioning. When he found out, he beat and raped her- nearly killing her in the process. This horrifying violence caused Rebecca's mutant powers come to fruition. She does not remember much of her escape, knowing only that she badly injured her father in the process, and was confronted by a FBSA registered cape and PPD as she fled seeking safety while suffering from a concussion amongst other more intimate injuries. The intense fear and urgency empowered her mutation, and Rebecca fell through the world and down into the depths of Oranbega.
From there, partially protected by soldiers of Rularuu who used her rip in reality as a breach into Primal Earth, she managed to sustain herself on dirt, grass from the Shadow Shard, and stagnant water in order to climb through the tunnels of Oranbega, through sewers, and to the surface in Peregrine of all places. It was here that she endured a month as a homeless vigilante. Finding her footing as she began to learn magic and financially support herself through selling what she could steal from criminal groups, Rebecca ended up moving to Port Oakes, with a new name unattached to her family, and a new outlook.
Despite her hardships and the depth of pain she felt from her life, she found comfort in faith, and in virtue. She has taken vows of charity, temperance, humility, patience, diligence, kindness, and even of 'relative' poverty- dedicating all that she has to trying to prevent others from having an upbringing like hers.
And with that dream and vows came a new name. Sister Rebecca Charity.
