| Nairobi's abilities are telepathic in nature. She can easily dominate the minds of others into doing her bidding, and she can inflict great psychic pain into a target's mind or render a target unconscious with a thought. Nairobi can also communicate with others telepathically, and doesn't need to worry about language barriers as she can instinctively tap into a target's language area of the brain. Nairobi has an ability to locate mutants by their thought patterns alone, making her a psychic hound who can track down mutants across great distances. Nairobi is also able to stimulate the brain of others in a way as to accelerate a body's healing processess, allowing her to heal targets much faster than they would recover naturally. | |

Backstory
Taking her name from the city of her birth, Nairobi is a young mutant who came to Paragon City to further develop her powers. Nairobi can control and manipulate the minds of others, making her one of the most dangerous types of mutants imaginable.
Prior to working with GIFT Nairobi was a homeless teenager in Nigeria who was using her powers to manipulate wealthy families into supporting her in a lavish lifestyle. Some have already left Nairobi millions of dollars and large estates in their wills. Nairobi was located by representatives of GIFT and was given the opportunity to work with them, mainly because GIFT didn't want someone like her using her powers the way she was casually doing.
At first Nairobi refused, and the GIFT representatives only realized this after they were half way across the Atlantic on a flight back to Paragon City. Deciding that a more convincing negotiation was in order, GIFT sent two of their allies, Polarias and Morisco, to sway Nairobi to reconsider their offer.
Nairobi was not at all pleased when the Americans from Paragon City once again approached her, and she attempted to use her powers to evade them. Morisco was already prepared for this, and used a device of his own design to temporarily negate Nairobi's powers. Not wishing to harm her, Polarias was able to hold Nairobi in a zone of increased gravity, pinning the girl so she could not escape. Although the details of their conversation weren't fully revealed to GIFT, Polarias and Morisco were successful at bringing Nairobi into GIFT's care.
Nairobi is now a full member of Squadron X, a small team of young mutants and their teachers who help other mutants to make their way in a very dangerous world. Nairobi no longer uses her abilities to manipulate others for financial gain, and instead helps GIFT to track down young mutants who may need some help, especially those who use their powers in an irresponsible or criminal manner. Nairobi may have come from a rather sordid past herself, but she is very quickly maturing into a responsible young woman who genuinely cares for the welfare of all mutants.
Powers
Mind Control
Nairobi's most powerful ability allows her to telepathically affect a target's mind. Nairobi is able to inflict painful migraines into a target that can completely incapacitate him. She can also cause drowsiness and sleep to overcome several targets at once. Nairobi is also quite comfortable at using her abilities to dominate others into carrying out her will, and she can accomplish this with but a thought. It is also believed that she can tamper with the memories of people as well, creating, altering, and deleting them as she needs to. As already noted, Nairobi is potentially one of the most dangerous mutants alive due to these abilities.
Telempathic Healing
An extension of her mind control abilities, Nairobi can telepathically manipulate the body's healing processes and rapidly increase a target's ability to heal. This allows Nairobi to create auras around her that can heal her allies, or she can single out a person and heal him or her more quickly.
Minor Abilities
- Telepathic Linguistics: Nairobi can communicate with anyone telepathically, which also allows her to speak in any language her subject is fluent in. She can accomplish this by linking her mind with a subject's language center in the brain. Since this ability requires a subject to link with, Nairobi can't read or write in a language she isn't naturally fluent in unless someone else nearby is also fluent and literate in the language.
- Telepathic Tracking: Nairobi can also discern the telepathic brain waves of a subject, allowing her to detect identities and one's status as a mutant, metahuman, or ordinary human. The range of this power is unknown, but Nairobi is a skilled tracker and can eventually catch up with anyone.
- Telepathic Leadership: By coordinating the minds of others to function more effectively as a team, Nairobi can increase the chances of her allies' survival. Nairobi's ability to merge her allies into a group mindset enables them to coordinate themselves into better defensive positions, to focus their abilities more accurately, and to have an overall greater impact on their accomplishments.
