Initial Impressions
On first meeting Leslie, One would note the odd eye color, dark skin tone, and a distinctly feral grin. The grin in particular, because it's there almost constantly. She's cheerful, well-adjusted, and a generally happy person. She's quick to joke, quick to smile, and quick to help when it's needed. She's generally known to be a police officer, and is often wearing her badge on her belt whether in civilian attire or in her combat gear. She's open about the fact she's a werewolf, and doesn't get offended by dog jokes very easily.
On Being a Werewolf
Leslie was born a werewolf, as was her Grandfather. The 'curse' appears to have skipped a generation with her mother. All through childhood she was taught to embrace her nature, and not to waste effort trying to suppress or hide who she was. This carried into the present. She's very open about her nature, and tends to make fun of the more secretive types.
Her abilities have been extremely beneficial to her at work, and have saved her life many times. There are some less-than-helpful sides to her condition, but they are more than offset by the positive aspects.
Acting the Part
Leslie's is a basically human mind, though it's overlaid with distinctly canine attitudes and habits. She is fiercely loyal and protective of friends, seeing herself as a guardian. She constantly has to suppress the urge to chase things, and is easy to distract with something that is thrown or something that squeaks. She's affectionate and warm to her friends, and wary and hostile to enemies.
She's an honest police officer, frequently coming into conflict with the less-than-honest members of the department. She's a highly adept bomb technician, and is quite good at chemistry and electronics.
The Nose Knows
Key to her performance as a police officer is her incredible sense of smell. She can easily identify individuals by scent, even picking them out of a crowd. She can tell where they've been, what they've touched, what they've eaten, and can detect fear, anger, and other strong emotions when dealing with human targets.
She has an encyclopedic knowledge of various chemicals, and can detect contraband drugs, explosives, weapons, poisons, and various other things.
Baseline humans absolutely cannot lie to her without being detected.
Eyes and Ears
Her eyesight, in contrast to her nose, is a bit below human standard. Colors appear washed out and dull to her. However, she has marginally better night vision than a baseline human.
Her hearing is only slightly more sensitive than human normal. However, she can hear sounds in a far higher range. While this can be an advantage, it also renders her vulnerable to ultrasonic weaponry. Even a plain dog-whistle can cause her unbearable pain.
Silver and Moonlight
Though she doesn't want to admit it, she *is* a supernatural being. As such, she's susceptible to certain weaknesses. Chief among them is Silver. Any contact with metallic silver will result in severe burning of the contacted area. A more severe injury can be mortal, and can force a shift back to human if she's in another form. Silver Nitrate functions as a corrosive contact poison for her. She can also be injured by attacking someone with severe argyria.
The moon is a significant factor as well. During the New Moon, she becomes listless and has difficulty focusing and sleeping. During the Full Moon, she has trouble suppressing her more basic impulses, and often shifts to her canine form involuntarily.
Currently
Recent events in the Rogue Isles prompted Leslie to emigrate to the United States. After a rather unpleasant fight with the US State Department she was granted entry, and has since become a naturalized US Citizen. She's earned a position as a PPD Detective, and currently specializes in solving kidnapping, drug, and fugitive cases.
Her personal life has improved as well since moving to Paragon. After an awkward start she's fallen wholeheartedly for her girlfriend and roommate Amber, and is rarely found separated from her when not at work.
