A little about the Bit-Player

First off, I'm a guy. Yes, I play mostly female characters. No, they aren't going to sleep with yours.

Now that that's out of the way, I'm a casual player. What does that mean? That means real life takes precedence. I may bail or disappear in the middle of something. Not because I'm being inconsiderate, but because the real world takes priority over ones and zeroes.

I've been playing City of Heroes for nearly its entire existence (With the exception of the pre-release beta.) To date, I have six level 50 Characters. What does that mean? Nothing. I don't expect anyone to care. Nor do *I* care about how many 50's you have. It's irrelevant.

I come with a good bit of gaming experience. I've been playing tabletop games since junior high, from AD&D all the way through some White Wolf games, straight through to playing Warhammer with Tan and Green army men for two years in Afghanistan. I take my gaming seriously, but not too seriously.

I think PvP is an AWFUL thing in this game, and should never have been added as it was.

I'm a voracious reader, subject matter being a toss-up between any sort of military history or technical books, and crazy science fiction. (Crazy Sci-Fi is winning.)

I don't really watch a lot of TV, and I automatically hate any and all anime or anything anime-related. Why? Because I'm sick of hearing about it. The same way Trekkies make non-Trekkies hate Star Trek, Anime fans have ruined it for me.

Do NOT ask me about my political or religious views. You will be offended, shocked and possibly bewildered.

Things Other Players Do That Irk The Hell Out Of Me

((Most of the following will cause me to actively avoid the offending character. Or just ignore him/her, if I was there first.))

1. Fail to punctuate ANYTHING EVER.*

2. Refuse to attempt to spell correctly.*

3. Use internet shorthand In-Character. (This one's a pet peeve. Your CHARACTER should never utter 'lol'. Also, it's 'You'. Y-O-U. Not 'u')*

4. EITHER LEAVE THE CAPSLOCK ON, or never capitalize anything ever.*

5. Max the Boob Slider. Seriously. It has other settings, people.

6. Roleplay godlike/Omnipotent/Omniscient characters in any way shape or form.

7. Attempt to apply the above characters' powers to *MY* Characters.

8. Seem unable to distinguish between themselves and their characters.

9. Make Slutty characters strictly for ERPz.

10. Engage in conversations with my characters for the sole purpose of scoring ERPz.

11. Roleplay within their group, then when they get tired of RPing, instead of finding something else to do, they stand around, kick up ungodly amounts of OOC chatter, /e frustrated each other, and generally irritate the hell out of everyone present.

(*) I'm not claiming perfection in these four areas, but for god's sake at LEAST try to make it look like there's someone with a functioning brain punching the keys. Also, I'm aware that many players out there do not speak/write English fluently. This does not apply to them.

((More to come as I run into more.))
