Witch, heathen, mad scientist, warlock. They call us by many names, all to mock us and our Art. And even when they accept your genius, you must use it for them and by their rules and method. Prejudice and rivals try to keep us under their control and to halt our work as it does not fit within their narrow vision of the world
We are mages, We are scientists, sometimes something in between. But what defines us is what drives us. Genius, in whatever form it takes. Over the centuries we've gathered in secret societies working on improving our craft. But often these organizations become the shackles that slowly kill us...
That's why I've create this arcanium. We are the New Arcane Order, or more formally, The Novus Ordo Arcanium. We provide everything you will need, may you be Static or Dynamic mage, Consensual or Alternate scientist.
That's why we invite you to join us. We offer you a place to work away from persecutions and imposed limits upon your creations. Here you shall find the tools that you need in a relaxed atmosphere and friendly co-workers. We are here to assist any and all who wish to work with us.

Mission Statement
The Novus Ordo Arcanium (Dog latin for New Arcane Order) is a research institute based on both scientific and magical creations to provide an independent and open approach on science and magical arts.
Safely hidden in a void like horizon realm stands(or actually, hover) the The Order's compound, a structure housing many labs, a temple and several other facility to accommodate the best of both approach to discoveries.
The Order seeks sorcerers, mages, scientists and gifted individuals to further the knowledge of mankind as a whole as well as to break the hermetic and elitist ways of other similar organizations.
Other operations the order performs include things such as;
- Artifact acquisition
- Threat elimination
- to secure and purify Nodes/Place of power
- Combating other factions' influence and control, such as the Technocratic conventions
The Codex
The Codex is the code of conduct every member must obey. They are meant to keep the order organised as well as to keep the it from falling into disgrace.
- 1) You shall not use a sentient to fuel your magic.
It is forbidden to sacrifice sentient beings (human or alien) to power a spell or device, nor is it allowed to steal one's life force. Willing sacrifices require the consent AND presence of someone of Overseer or Headmaster ranking.
- 2) You shall not enthrall another.
It is not allowed to remove someone's freewill under any circumstances. Exceptions to this are: Fae, demons, primal or nature spirits (elementals etc... however, ghosts are not allowed) and celestials. Binding is accepted, but their enslavement is not tolerated.
It is also strictly forbidden to bind even temporarily a spirit, fae, or celestial that is allied with the Order, be it from coalition, independent contact or part of the Order itself.
- 3) You shall contribute to our projects to the best of your ability and availability
No member of the order is accepted if he has not previously show either magical or technological aptitude BEFORE his enlistment. When a recruit joins the Order, s/he is to grant others access to his or her research and files.
- 4) You shall not abuse the knowledge we have provided you
Since all members have access dangerous knowledge, it is required they never abuse such knowledge or use it to breach human laws. Murder, theft and other crimes are forbidden, regardless of the laws currently in place.
Also, making profit from another's work or using another's work to gain prestige or influence is forbidden unless they have allowed it. To compensate, the order gives money to all its retainers.
The Order's stance on gray morality
It is to be noted that the Order is a research and threat elemination group and is not a hero oriented organisation nor does it impose certain behavior upon it's retainers which means
- Any Item captured are kept by the order and will not be delivered to the autorities
- While the Order does not sanction murder, the use of lethal weapon/attacks is allowed to it's member to fight it's enemies
- The order itself is Lawful and frowns upon senseless illegal activities by it's member, The order does not actively enforce such laws.
Recruitment
The order is alway looking for new members to add to it's rank. While there are no clear way to really seek out the order to join, The officers keep a close watch on the city, ready to extend an invitation to all those who shows some promise in their field of study.
While the Order is ready to teach magic and sciences to it's retainers, it is not and never will be an academy. Potential members must have show their talent, skill and knowledge before joining for an invitation to even be considered
Characters are require to posses one or more of the following:
- Magical powers. Be it a static or dynamic one
- Technological knowledge. Be it of consensual(Accepted IRL) or alternate(Pseudo Sciences and less universally accepted) nature
- Any condition that would be of interest for studies.
- Magical or technological items of interest.
- To be a demons, Fae, celestial, spirit or any type of bygone(Mythical creature)

Mutation origin characters are not denied, but we're open to technologically inclined mutants. Tell a good story.
Ranks & Requirement
Headmaster
Leader of the Novus Ordo Arcanium, If the current headmaster dies or disappears, The leadership will go to Twysted Silver and Walker Gray, the current Overseers.
Overseer
Co-Leaders and organizers of the group, Overseers make sure that everything goes smoothly, as well as settles disputes. Should you ask them to settle an in-game dispute, their decisions will be considered final. Don't worry. They're nice people.
To become an Overseer, one must:
-Be a long standing member of the group.
-Have shown his/her abilities, in leadership and organization,both in and out of character.
-Actively seek a officer role.
-Be accepted by all Current high ranking officers (Headmaster and Overseers).
Magister
Sub-officers of the order, the Magisters generally coordinate small groups in the absence of a higher ranking member.
To become a Magister, one must:
-Have been in the Order for a while without in or out of character conflicts.
-Seek a position in membership.
-Have previously earned the Magus rank.
Magus
Magus are fully fledged mages and inventors, They have been shown to be knowledgeable of their field of study, as well as willing to participate in the Order's activities.
To become an Magus, one must:
- Be active frequently
- Shown interest in the SG and its projects.
Adept
Adepts, while not technically full members, have shown some discipline and talent in their specific field of study. They are granted access to most of the order's project and information.
To become an Adept, one must;
- Have been part of the SG for at least one week.
- Have been an active group participant, and have completed the RP intro to the SG.
Initiate
Initiates, are the newcomers to the Order. they have yet to be formally introduced to the Order or to make a contribution that would earn some level of trust.
To become an Initiate, one must:
-Be roleplayed into the group.
-Have a character which is compatible with the group's concept and ideas.

Rules of Magic
While there are no heavily enforced rules on how magic works, the group draws inspiration from the old world of darkness pen and paper RPG Mage: the Ascension.

Remember, this is not an old world of darkness SG it simply takes alot of inspiration from it. We accept non-WoD and characters based on many pre-existing mythos and those you created yourself entirely. All and all, Tell a good and fun story is the point of it. Not to argue over meaningless details and system
OOC Rules of Conduct
- We ask that you stay in SG mode. The base needs a very large amount of prestige due to the detailing of everyroom.
- Please treat everyone with respect and be aware that there is a human driver on the other side of every character. Note that this do not automatically mean that characters have to be friends, but make sure conflicts stays purely in roleplay and not out of character
- If you have an issue with a specific player, do not fight over it. Simply roll with it and bring it to the attention of an officer (magister and above) The issue will be discussed with both parties. You may also wish to gather proof such as screenshots in severe cases
- Please avoid OOC drama. IC drama is tolerated but will addressed by an officer if it is "drama for the sake of drama" or an attempt to gather attention.
- You are also expected to know the basic rules of being in/out of character, and not to godmode, power game (taking control of another person's character, NPC or storyline without permission) or to metagame (Using information OOCly acquired without permission to land an advantage over others).
- Mary Sues/Larry Stu's are not tolerated and will be jettisoned on the spot.
- AEs are held every weekends but it is required that people volunteer to make them since the leadership cannot handle it all alone without being burned out and losing alot of play time to working in AE
