"Did someone order a highly paid and well armed Metahuman Assassin? If so I should inform you my rates have recently gone up."
- Operative Emeral
History
Once upon an Issue, Operative Emeral was just a lowly Wolf Spider who eventually survived long enough to be promoted to a Wolf Spider Huntsman. He became known as an Operative capable of accomplishing almost any task given to him. As time continued, most of his peers were again promoted to either a Crab Spider Soldier or a Bane Spider Soldier. Operative Emeral however did not wish to leave behind his legacy as a Wolf Spider Huntsman, and more importantly his highly customized Arachnos Rifle which was capable of Semi and Fully Automatic fire and was able to deploy everything from acid filled Venom Grenades, Fragmentation Grenades and rotten eggs.
After enough pressure from his superiors however, he took up the role of a Bane Spider. As before, his service record was perfect, and although he seemed immune to the Bane Spider mind control that all other Bane Spiders were subjected to, Operative Emeral remained loyal and was much more capable. His record did not go unnoticed as he eventually was given the lofty title and the honor of becoming a Bane Spider Executioner. Reports surfaced that he would moonlight as a Wolf Spider Huntsman, and retain all his capability in the field.
Having suffered a series of debilitating injuries as a Wolf Spider, Operative Emeral joined an Arachnos science project that replaced his burned eyes and ears with Ocular Implants and Audio Receptors to replace his lost sight and hearing. While his hearing remains equal to an ordinary human, his Ocular Implants carry a direct link to the Arachnos Metahuman Threat Identification Directory in Grandville. The real world effect of this is that Emeral can download the Threat ID file on any Metahuman he comes in contact with at will, unlike his comrade Operative Gemini who cannot control this ability. Emeral enjoys pranking others into thinking he's a Telepath when he is simply reading a detailed file drafted by an Arachnos analyst.
Recently, Emeral and Gemini's collective loyalty to Arachnos has come under question as both have been seen on numerous occaisons remarking about their preference to live somewhere other than the Rogue Isles, placing them on the Arbiter's Watch List, which details high ranking or powerful Arachnos Operatives who are suspected as desiring to switch sides and move to Paragon City.
