Introduction: Paragon News Network, August 15th, 2007

"This is Mary Nelson, reporting live from— Oh my God!"

The purple and black-clad man lands next to her and straightens his brilliant red scarf. "Good evening, Ms. Nelson. A pleasure to meet you in person."

"... ladies and gentlemen, we have, apparently, a guest speaker... Phantasmagorus, the dark watcher of Paragon. What... brings you to the PNN reporting area?"

"I heard you were talking about me and I figured I'd allow you an interview to clear any suspicions or falsehoods. Is that alright?"

"... sure, we HAVE been trying to catch up with you. Let me start off with a few questions I'd like to know personally. Why the scarf?"

"It was a gift from an old friend, and I wear it for them."

"Ah, how noble. Why do you take lives rather than subdue criminals?"

"I'm sure you're aware of the Zig breakout rate, Ms. Nelson. With Arachnos aiding the escape of criminals, the only sure-fire way to make sure the loosed felons don't wreak havoc on society again is to remove them from it permanently."

"I suppose that makes sense. What are your thoughts on the speculation that you're merely Neuronomicon in disguise?"

"Oh, I've heard that before. I must say, the similarities are rather uncanny, and I find it funny how much we have in common physically. But when you really look at the both of us, there's just no way we could be the same person. As you well know, Neuronomicon has only one sibling, so the twin theory is also debunked. But on the same level, I'm somewhat flattered I could be compared to a hero of his caliber. He's a profound person, the perfect hero for a time like the Rikti War, and events beyond that."

"Now is it true what they say about you being linked with a Nictus?"

"Oh no. I understand completely that my illusions look startlingly like the transformations of Kheldian-infused heroes, but there's a very good reason for that. When I came to the Freedom Corps and requested an official hero license, they had no idea what to classify me as or what to put on said license. There are quite a few illusionists in this city, such as Neuronomicon. I am such an illusionist. But while their illusions are harmless and made of the minds of their foes, my illusions are lethal and controlled by both myself and the worst nightmares of those who stand against me. To alleviate any problems with Longbow's class system, I merely project my illusions in a Kheldian fashion. It confuses my opponents and allows me to better get a handle on my situations."

"Well said, Phantasmagorus. We appreciate your words and perhaps one of us will get rescued by you someday."

"Don't doubt it. Evil is always on the move. Now, I must go. Good evening, Ms. Nelson."

The man in purple and black leaps into the air and vanishes in a haze of purple tendrils.

"... this is Mary Nelson, signing off for PNN."
