Most of the information on this page is from an outside the game perspective. Phi is able to effectively pass as a human in both Paragon city and the Rogue isles when she wishes. In fact, the link between Phi Normae and her Paragon alter-ego, Erin O'Pharmine, is unknown to even the major Paragon/Rogue Isles organizations (At least, it's unknown at the moment). Also note that this page and this character are a work in progress, so this page will most likely change frequently.

Personality

Phi Normae is not a typical, emotionless android. On the contrary, she is much more human than she would like to admit. Phi knows what she wants, and will stop at nothing to get it. She is very skilled at being deceitful, and is capable of maintaining a complicated web of lies and half-truths for as long as it serves her interest. She will rarely talk about herself, and when she does, it is usually a complete fabrication. In Paragon city or Pocket D, she goes to great pains to maintain the illusion that she is a human. In the Rogue isles she will usually use her android appearance, unless she is on an official business trip as a CEO (More on that later).

Specifications

Phi is visually, very similar to Mu Normae. In fact, Phi is based on plans stolen by Arachnos from Mu Normae's original creators. Her final design deviated significantly from Mu, most notably, instead of being powered by a miniature nuclear reactor, her frame houses a quantum singularity, with an apparatus designed to draw on the pure energy environment of such an object (Without having her entire body implode into it). Her potential energy output greatly exceeds Mu's, however her circuitry is only capable of transferring so much power at a time to her weapons, and thus they work out to about the same strength. She has modified her own systems to some extent, giving her the ability to teleport herself, as well as reassemble her appearance at will (Both use the same principle, just on a different scale).

History

Spoiler warning: Details about a player-created storyline, or information currently unrevealed about a character, follow.

Creation

When the original Normae project was created, Arachnos caught wind of it rather quickly. Not wanting to fall behind in weapons technology, they stole the original plans and assembled their own version of the Normae class battle android. However, when arachnos saw the original Normae project shelved, they decided that it wasn't worth pursuing their own difficult and time consuming version of the project, and disbanded it, essentially turning the completed android loose on the rogue isles. Aside from minor cosmetic differences, there were two key changes made by Arachnos to the original Normae design:

The first change was the replacement of the nuclear reactor with a quantum singularity, as the technology for harnessing such powers was availiable to Arachnos when it wasn't availiable anywhere in the US.

The second change was that the programmers felt that Phi should have a personality. They thought she would be more effective in combat if she took real pleasure in her work. It was this second difference, and the disbanding of the project almost moments after its completion, that led Phi down the path she plans to walk.

Erin O'Pharmine

"Erin" reference shot
Phi, like any real person, wanted more out of her life than to simply be a servant to two-bit thugs around the Rogue Isles. Knowing that power in the Isles was fleeting, at best, she decided that the only way to really make a future for herself, and her plans, was to find a way to expand herself into Paragon city. In a strange twist of irony, she found her opening in the same organization from which her design had originally been stolen. The Chief of the Normae project was on a trip to the Rogue Isles, to evaluate the conditions and prepare his proposal to longbow about assigning Mu Normae to their operation. Phi discovered these plans, and needless to say, the Chief never returned from that trip. Someone else did return, however, a young woman named Erin.

Erin's seemingly encyclopedic knowledge about robotic engineering and android design quickly landed her a job on the Normae project. But she was not content to simply be a member, with the Chief's seat still vacant, "Erin" knew exactly what job she wanted. Her skill and intelligence rocketed her through the ranks of the Normae project, until she finally landed at the top, although for all anyone knew, Erin was just a normal, if extremely bright, human.

Expanded Operations

This brings us to the present. The Normae project is still small, but under Erin's leadership, it is growing in scope and power. She has already registered the project as a full fledged corporation, with herself as CEO. Where she is taking her company is unclear, but considering that she still maintains a continued presence on the rogue isles as an android, it is unlikely to be good for Paragon City.
