Pillbug

On September 14th in the morning of Paragon City in Steel Canyon. Jacob Hollowell was born to the middle-class family of the Hollowells. Each of them has shown contributing talents and things they pride themselves in for what their innate skills are, his father being a producer for camera production, his mother a talented chiropractor, his sisters wishing to become supermodels for Paragon City's "Paragon's Model!" and other families with other job and activities. Jacob however, wasn't your usual one. Jacob's eccentricities and other such made his family view him differently than most, usually uncomfortable ways or questionable.

Jacob was a troubled child. Not necessarily in the bullying at school way or other places, but more lonely without anyone to talk to. He grew up in a home where his father wasn't around and his mother worked two jobs to make sure they had food on the table. Most of his family including his own siblings wanting nothing to closure to him or any afflictions for his strange habits. As a result, Jacob had to make do with talking to himself or personifying other things. Which is how he grew a personal attachment to bugs. In the back yard, there were all kinds of insects living out there that he liked to name, and talk to. Ants, beetles, fleas, fireflies, centipedes, butterflies, the whole deal. He liked to pick them up, talk to them, and even considered them his friends.

This made most of his family disgusted but his parents always showed support to what he enjoys and believe it's a talent of his own, as his father's traditional lesson being, is to take pride in what you like as your interest and never allow others to judge your actions of choice. While going through the years, he liked to read, research, and learn about his new friends and went into proper studies in regards to them. He took a genetics major so he could make money and find a good job, but minored in entomology as a passion of his. Little did he know that both of these courses would find themselves in his future.

His love for insects and entomology is what Jacob wants for his future, believing that they are always underestimated based on their appearances and size and their obscured behaviors, and believes what they could do for others is beneficial if they realized what they were true can do with the abilities of their physiologies and proportionate sizes. Jacob began to continued to focus on bugs more than his own well-being of his eccentricity and unfortunate small health issues such as having pimples on his face and small gut. This began to in some capacity raise some small awareness to the closest people in his life but in his case, he is more focused on learning about insects than say about his own.

Fortunately, his considered talents would display in everyone's dismay when he graduated from high school and intended to college. Things went well for his early beginnings in college for him in courses in genetics. One day when Jacob arrived back home for some food after a long day in college, he arrived in the kitchen to ask his mother to make him some food until he witnessed his own mother on the floor collapsed as the food smoked and steamed. His mother, unfortunately, fell ill. She wasn't able to stand or stay conscious for very long, which explained what happened when he found her on the kitchen floor.

Jacob panicked and screamed in fear and sadness which alerted his family to call the ambulance for help and as his family and Jacob arrived at the hospital, the doctor told the family she was suffering from cardiovascular disease (CVD). They weren't sure if she'll recover so she had to be kept in hospital for further treatment and to be sure her condition is at bay. Which means staying there for a couple of weeks or possibly a month. This made Jacob sad and in grievance and missing every day. His family felt sympathy for once since, despite all the sarcastic insults aimed towards him.

They understood his pain. Jacob's depression would go for at least two weeks without visible contact with his other family members or others for that matter, which began to raise concern for his mental state. Jacob in grievance and realized that. He doesn't want to sit back and allow his mother to become more ill or even fall for death. With his sense of needing to take care of her in return for all, she did for him, in every way she knows how to give him hope. He knew what he wanted to do that moment, is to save her life with the knowledge he possesses.

Jacob began to continues to research deeper into bug genetics. Over the course of his studies, he noticed similarities between some superpowers others had, and what insects could do naturally. While he knew that any kind of splicing bug DNA with his own would be a disaster waiting to happen, it didn't mean he couldn't pretend combinations of powers couldn't be the solution to his problem. He began to research and study and for a couple of days, he invented and developed what would be called "super pills" that are designed to look like normal-looking capsules or bubble wrap balls so they wouldn't be looked suspicious.

To finally managing to invent super pills, he discovered through doubled researching that it would also grant anyone that takes it super-powers and abilities of an insect, depending on what pill it is. He believed he was ready. Just before he could decide to do it, he checked on the TV in the living room to relax until he found a news report that the very hospital he was going to visit is now being held as hostages inside by a supervillain outside surrounded by armored police trucks, cars, officers reloaded, SWATs team to arrest the superpowered villain.

The villain stated in the news report live in which he will keep them hostage till he gets paid "handsomely" by donation wise, if not. He'll destroy and kill everyone inside without remorse or thoughtful thinking. Jacob fell into shock and sadness yet again, because not only that. His mother and some of his family members being held hostages inside. Jacob in a fit of sadness had enough. He no longer wants to sit in the dark crying for help and mercy anymore and watch his mother suffer for nothing. Jacob looked at what he had made which is the super pill itself. And decided to use it, before he could. He rushed upstairs to his bedroom and found random clothing he could wear and make such as a sky-blue colored sweater, black sweatpants, white-colored cloth full-face mask, and some white shoes. As he ran out unnoticed and took the pill and swallowed it. At that moment, he was granted fantastic superpowers of a bug and began leaping across places and buildings at such great height and length before arriving at the hospital.

As he did, he marked his presence in front of cameras being filmed across, including helicopters above across platforms in Paragon City, he arrived in front of the villain and telling him he's going to be stopped. The villain simply laughed. Before he could use his attack upon him, Jacob now being masked demonstrated impressive agility and leaping across surfaces and even sticking to a wall like an insect, he then delivered a punch in which he sent the enemy flying a mile away. Discovered he has super strength. To further prove that, when the villain caused an explosion, a random police car was flying towards the group of cops and he caught it with ease. Show little effort lifting it. Impressed by it, the fight continued on before Jacob knocking him out with such strength that the villain was shocked before being defeated. After Jacob defeated him, Jacob climbed inside the hospital to free others and being thanked for the innocent lives of other patients. Before giving the other pill dose to his mother while she was unconsciously sleeping.

Before climbing away from the building and as he saw families reuniting in relief and joy, seeing them cry with joy and relief that they are fine and rescued as the villain being arrested and send inside the armored truck. Jacob saw innocent people hugging with tears including children, he couldn't help but get tears inside his mask in the joy that he has heroically rescued everyone from getting killed by a heartless villain. Before returning home in relief knowing he has saved everyone and his powers vanished for lasting only an hour. Weeks later goes by, as he visiting his mother every time and sees his mother's first dose was raising her mental cognition and aid in physical conditioning to get her back on to her feet. With this demonstration of his work completed.

But also in relief that she's going to be fine. In weeks, he was having thoughtful thinking and realized that if it weren't for him and his heroism to step in to stop the villain, they would've died if he didn't jump in to prevent it from happening, they would've died. He then realized that he could also prevent days like that day in the hospital from happening to ever come to the light of day, to make sure no one gets to suffer unjustly for no reason. And believes he can prevent it from happening with the pills he has invented. Jacob decided that day he'll become something more than setting his sights on simple medical applications or entomological related things. He decided to become a superhero, he'd develop more super pills and elaborate combinations and decided to use his amazing gifts to prevent bad days from happening and fight crime in his hometown and protect anyone, no matter how big or small the situation might be, he will make sure that no crimes will be committed, he decided to become the superhero known as Pillbug.
