History

Shelly was the daughter of a Kitsune and a Native American serviceman, whose relationship was somewhat akin to "Madame Butterfly". She was born in 1911. Sheryl Ann Mizuki Lightfoot was a native of an alternate earth, officially designated in Paragon City by Portal Corps as "Delta P-L9", a dimension running slower than Primal Earth, and was still in the middle of an alternate World War II when that version of Shelly was dumped into our world. The Primal Earth native version of Sheryl Ann Mizuki Lightfoot was killed years ago, so the Shelly that people came to know was not, in fact, the original. She was a vigilante, a former air pirate, and had at one point worked for one or another intelligence service. She was prone to doing very extreme things for her idea of Justice. She did not serve the law, she said… but the balance of good and evil of the universe. Shelly has long since returned to her home dimension with her daughter and husband to settle down. However… there would not be the end of Shelly in Paragon City. There was another dimension coming into close direct conflict with Earth Prime, a universe designated as Praetorian Earth, named for it's Praetorian guard and subsequently named Praetorian city-states. There was a version of Shelly there also, but very different that the Shelly that Paragon had previously known. Her given name was Michelle Suzuki Lightfoot, but still commonly called Shelly by her friends. She was a police officer that served law and order, unlike vigilante counterpart. She was respected for her skill and had even risen to the rank of Praetor of Equilibrium. However the police she served, the Praetorian Police Department, was corrupt on every level. They learned about her Kitsune heritage and immediately sought to exploit it, though it was largely undeveloped and unexplored. Disgusted with the corruption and seeking to protect the innocent, when she got a chance to come to our dimension… she took it. Not with the intent to herald Emperor Cole's grand invasion… but to warn Earth Prime of the danger, and if she can… help them fight back. Her predecessor was a creature of chaos and order, seeking to execute her own higher morality, but this new Shelly... sought to protect innocents anywhere she could.
