Primal Thing
From Unofficial Handbook of the Virtue Universe
Primal Thing is the first character created by the player @Primal Thing (some coincidence, huh?) and is currently my highest character. The early concept of Primal Thing actually predates City of Heroes by several years. He was a hero I made up in my head for fun, but never actually used him for anything. In those days, he was called Primal and got his powers by picking up a fragment of a comet. He also looked very different from Primal Thing and used a sonic attack he called his Primal Scream as his trump card. The look, the powers, the name, and the origin were all changed to fit into City of Heroes, but I like the way it all turned out.

Claws
Primal Thing fights using a pair of sharp orange claws. He extends these from the skeletal structures protruding from his forearms. Though they are technically a part of his skeleton, they are made of something much tougher than the rest of his bones and can cut through even the strongest armor. His claws are also very resistant to dulling and chipping, and regenerate very quickly on the rare occasions they are damaged. It is not public knowledge, but Primal Thing actually sheds his claws roughly once every two months. Fortunately, they regrow in about a day, but he stays out of sight until they grow back.
Acute Senses
Primal Thing's oversized ears and dog-like nose aren't just for show. All five of his senses are many times more powerful than a normal human's. He can identify people by their scent and hear things that would be completely inaudible to anyone else. He can even see in the infrared spectrum, although he hasn't found that particular ability to be very useful as of yet.
Super Reflexes
Though Joe will probably never like his new form, one thing he has grown fond of is the amazing agility it grants him. He can spring from a full crouch into a graceful backflip without breaking a sweat. This combined with his superhuman senses make him very hard to hit. He can hear a bullet zipping through the air behind him and pinpoint its location accurately enough to avoid it. He usually does this reflexively, without conscious thought.
Jumping
His transformation has also made him an astonishing jumper. He can cover over 200 yards in a single leap. He actually prefers jumping over running, and will use it to travel even short distances. In the middle of a fight, he will often jump over the heads of friend and foe alike to get at his intended target.
Family
This article about a character is a stub -- a small, but growing, work in progress. If you're the creator of this character, why not consider expanding it?
