Personality

Jacob is a caring person even though at times he can come off as hot headed and brash. He is very protective over his sister, Sarah aka Snow Panther. He questions his own being at times, wishing he could do more than set things on fire to aide his friends in their fight.

Powers & Abilities

His mutant powers give him the ability to create and control fire to a degree. He is able to warm the air around him and even a small room. He has heightened reflexes due to his time in sports, and time in a boxing ring. He has recently been getting free martial arts lesson from some new friends, one of which who owns a dojo and a restaurant.

His ability to fly came to him while watching a show on tornadoes, commenting on how warm air rises and cool air falls. It was elementary knowledge but gave him an idea. Standing in the middle of the room he warmed the air around him and pushed off the ground. He only sustained floating mid air for a short time before falling back onto the couch but after practicing over and over again he finally was able to fly a decent distance without much effort.

Background

Jacob is the youngest member of the Peterson family. He enjoyed a relatively normal life in Virginia, and never understood why some gave his sister strange looks when she walked down the street when they first moved there. He always found her cat features to be cool, so he never had a problem with mutants or the fact that he may become one at some point. He even fantasized about what cool power he would get, as if waiting for a secret gift on Christmas morning. However, when it happened, it wasn't at all like he had dreamed. He was at his first dance and someone he really liked got hurt. His family decided it best to send him to Paragon where he could live with his sister and learn to control his new found powers.

It wasn't easy for him at first. He felt like a monster, looking at his power of fire as a curse more so than a gift. He would accidentally start fires in her home. He was always having to keep his power in check. So when his sister suggested he join the Palladium Sentry, a team of heroes she had joined, he was weary. But through some special training there he learned to get a hold on his powers to some extant. He really wishes he could do some of the things one of the team leaders, Light of the Phoenix, can do.

During his early days as a hero, he made a crucial mistake in a bank robbery. He mistook a casual dressed hero as one of the villains, an assumption only more fortified when he refused to show him his hero license. Things only got worse when he attacked the man. He was hospitalized for a week, and the true robbers got away. But from that a friendship was formed with Crimson aka Crimson Fire Lion. More and more the two began to hang out and work together, Crimson taking on a big brother like role. He introduced him to his friends, Red (Red Thunder Wolf), Hellfire (Obsidian Hellfire) and Abaddon Nottingham. One day they invited Jacob to train with them, it was then that Hellfire demonstrated his fire power in various ways. Clearly impressed he asked if he could be taught to do some of the same things, Hellfire was more than happy to. He also offered Jacob a job at his restaurant to make some cash. With his new skills he has renewed confidence in himself.
