This article about a character is a stub -- a small, but growing, work in progress. If you're the creator of this character, why not consider expanding it?

Ravenwing is a character on the Virtue server, inspired in part by Serenity's River and to a lesser extent by Marvel Comics' X-23.

Overview

When you hear someone say a person has demons to deal with, Raven might be the best example of that. Her inner demons have led her to be quiet, introverted and shy, often unwilling to trust those around her. From her actions, it's possible she was traumatized by events at an early age and simply hasn't recovered. There's a downright spooky quality about the often silent girl. The few who gain her trust find her to be fiercely protective.

Raven has told little of her background to anyone. What follows is information taken from a few days of Web Spinner trying to get her to talk a little while they shared some meals.

Apparently from the future, Raven escaped from demons she claims were chasing her. To make this escape, she traveled back in time to an era where these demons had not yet risen to power. She chose not to reveal any details of who her family are or where she comes from. Her memories appeared to be slightly jumbled from the ordeal as well.

A visit from Skjor Stormbringer during one of their chats had Raven wide-eyed and seemingly disturbed. When the warrior goddess extended a hand in friendship to Raven, the younger woman backflipped out of her seat, sandwich still in hand, and jumped through the wire-mesh cover into a heating and cooling duct in the base of Web-Spinner's Amazing Friends. She was finally seen again again the next day, casually dropping out of a vent in the control room as though nothing happened.

Upon her arrival, she initially stayed away from both Skjor and the Demon Hunter, both of whom apparently make her a bit skittish. Lots of people get antsy around Demon Hunter, but Skjor doesn't usually elicit that response when she's being friendly and among allies.

As it turns out, Raven (she hates the name Brianna) was hunted by a demon who was identical to her father, the Demon Hunter. The demon was a fragmented avatar of the demon lord, War, made in the form of her father, and was the one largely responsible for the destruction in the world she lived in and the death of those closest to her.

Raven finally destroyed the demon, known as Damion, in an effort to prevent her world from coming to pass. This has left her in a world she's is unfamiliar with, surrounded by people she's either known or watched die, most of whom have never met her or have no ties to her in this era.

Affiliations

Raven has been accepted as a member of the teen supergroup known as Web-Spinner's Amazing Friends, where she has become a close friend of the Grey Osprey. Well as close as Raven gets to anyone, that is.

In the early part of the summer of 2011, Raven followed her friend the Grey Osprey in joining the Teen Phalanx, at the suggestion of the Demon Hunter. He felt she could learn better to interact with people her own age as a part of this group than she could by living purely in seclusion with him and his protege Firehawk, and his previous alliance with several of their members led him to send her to them.

Quirks

Raven rarely talks to people, and when she does it's usually short, simple and to the point. An example would be when she turned to her friend Grey Osprey before diving into a mass of Romans and said simply and calmly, "Need body bags." She most often spouts off what she deems her favorite catch phrases from movies she watched when she was younger. This is usually followed by random giggling. Ravenwing is often overheard quietly humming her favorite song from her childhood, Rob Zombie's "Dragula."

Some examples of her favorite movie lines would be....

"SHAKE AND BAKE!" -- Talladega Nights

"You have offended my family and you have offended the Shao-Lin Temple" (followed by the "bring it" emote) -- Enter the Dragon

She tends to giggle and make references to "Secret Clown Business" -- The Devil's Rejects

When the team leaves a mish or a fight without finishing off all their opposition, she screams out "I WOULD HAVE WIN!" and feigns anger. -- The Expendables
