Summary
- Rayne Darke is one of four extra dimensional entities, called 'Trubloods', who maintain the balance between positive and negative forces/energies throughout various plains of reality. They maintain this balance to prevent any dimensions from tilting too far to either side, and possibly toppling onto one another.
- Two of the Trubloods are said to be responsible for bringing about the dark, or 'Darke' embrace, in this plain of reality after manifesting long ago. The manifestation alone disrupted the balance of energy, bringing about a spike in the negative vibrations. These unnatural energies eventually evolved to bring about modern day vampires.
- 'Trublood' is the best possible translation of their state of being that still fits within the language barriers of this plain, and is taken from their home state of existence: a sub-dimension, referred to as 'Tru'.
Personality
Rayne Darke is always calculated, collected, and professional, but being a guardian of balance, she will only show one of two personalities to any given person. Friendly, or unfriendly. Depending on what is 'meant' to be, the first encounter with Rayne will strongly suggest whether she is an ally or an enemy. Even then, these relationships have never been known to hold priority over her primary objective: maintaining balance. She will undoubtedly protect this balance at all necessary costs, as she is first and foremost a business woman.
First impressions are everything to Rayne. When being introduced to her for the first time, many people have been cautioned to do everything they can to get on her good side. If this is achieved, she shows herself as a polite, calm, and -almost- warm woman. She protects those individuals, and her loyalty will go undying, so long as that individual does not interfere with her 'work'.
The alternative to Rayne being an ally, is a fierce enemy. She is harsh, cold, and often referred to as being quite the brutal bitch. Strangely enough, though, she isn't likely to make any direct attempt to kill someone, unless such an action is necessary to prevent the disruption of the balance. When said action is necessary, Rayne is a powerful opponent, and certainly one to be feared.
Powers, Abilities, and Equipment
Abilities
- Extraordinary: Rayne doesn't have powers so much as she is just unnaturally extraordinary. While the Trubloods are not allowed to break the majority of the laws of reality, there are many that they freely bend. Their movements are extremely fast, calculated, and precise. Their abnormal strength isn't associated with working out, but rather a lack of limitation. Reality itself seems to almost bend around them. But these already extraordinary feats are nothing in comparison to their 'Tru' powers.
- The Energies: Trubloods, being constructs of energy, are naturally sensitive to all types of energy. While positive and negative energies are the two things they have absolute control over, they are still familiar with other forms which wouldn't be so easily classified in the categories of 'black or white'. With said familiarity, Rayne is able to see energy in it's most basic forms, as well as more complex forms. She can identify various auras for this reason, and generally get a good idea of the personality of an individual by viewing their energy signature. She is also able to see lingering energy vibrations. If Rayne is looking for someone in particular, who's aura she's familiar with, 'footprints' of that person's energy will be obvious to her for a short period of time. This makes her an excellent investigator.
- The Projection: Rayne's projection onto this plain of reality, is nothing more than that. A projection. Much like the spot of light on the wall being projected by the flashlight. Back in Tru, she is nothing more than a flow of energy, but her projection allows her to physically manifest to a degree. While she is essentially a solid person, psychic scans would show that she has absolutely no brain. X-ray vision would show she has no organs beneath her apparent flesh, but rather a blinding white light, identical to that of her eyes. Make no mistake, though: her projection can be severed. 'Killing' Rayne via extreme methods has proven to be the only effective way to temporarily bring a halt to her manifestation. However, she generally is able to cast a new projection within the hour, so long as no balance is disrupted. The alternative method of severing her projection has yet to be discovered, however she has hinted about 'sustenance' being a requirement for her to successfully maintain her physical manifestation.
- The Whisper: While it seems there is an abundance of telepathic individuals on Earth, and even more who repel such intrusions, Rayne is in no way to be considered a psychic. However, her methods of speaking to specific individuals across long distances is often mistaken by the receiver as being telepathic contact. She is actually using her 'whisper'. Another method of bending reality, 'the whisper' causes small vibrations of energy in a person's ears, which produce a small sound wave only obvious to that individual, as it comes across as Rayne whispering in their ear. The only downside to this ability, is that it has a one way frequency. Unless the individual responds through an alternative method, or is in the direct vicinity, Rayne will not receive a message.
Powers
While Rayne is able to freely use her more potent powers to directly maintain the balance, excessive use of these powers can potentially disrupt that balance. For this reason, she is extremely limited in her use of these powers for any personal means. Her powers over negative energies, or 'the Darke', are more commonly used for more delicate tasks, which require a degree of precision and control. Her control over positive energies, or 'the Lyte', are quite the contrary, only being used at extreme times.
The Darke
- The Cloak of Shadows: Rayne is able to achieve a 'half presence', in which she is still technically manifested in the designated plain of reality, however she is literally intangible by all means. She is undetectable by sight, sound, smell, taste, or touch. Only the other Trubloods, or those with a more direct link to the Darke or Lyte embraces, are capable of detecting her semi-presence. In this state of being, Rayne is only capable of observation, and must fully project before she can successfully interact with anyone, or anything.
- The Darke Mask: Rayne can bend and manipulate shadows to some degree, which allows her to create small manifestations and illusions. While they are nothing to use in any sort of combat, they do allow for convenient wardrobe changes.
- Nether Constructs: Rayne is able to create small objects from pure negative energy. These objects usually serve minor purposes, but she occasionally crafts weapons from them, such as knives, or her more popular set of guns: Custom Match Compensators. These objects are very real, and completely tangible. However, they only stay perfectly solid when Rayne is physically interacting with them. Otherwise, the objects break apart into a shadowy fuzz within minutes, eventually disappearing altogether.
The Lyte
- The Tru-bolt: The single, most devastating power that the Trubloods possess. The Tru-bolt is a blast of brilliant, white energy. Literally an 'eraser', the Tru-bolt not only destroys whatever it touches, but unmakes it. Anything struck by the Tru-bolt is obliterated in a blinding explosion of white light, and is said to even be erased from time itself. Being such a powerful tool, the Tru-bolt is rarely used, as using it too often would dramatically overwhelm the balance with positive energies.
- The Touch of Lyte: Rayne is able to mend as easily as she is able to destroy. When desperate times have called, the Lyte Touch has been used to heal beings of the most gruesome wounds, be it physical or mental, with the exception of death itself. However, even this power must be used in moderation, as the unnatural intervention of death itself would surely in disrupt the balance if done excessively.
- Lyte Restoration: Powerful, but limited and costly, Lyte Restoration allows Rayne to slightly alter the flow of time in the immediate area. This power is most commonly used to undo a mistake, such as the destruction of an important object, by causing the item alone to literally rewind in time. However, this amount of control can only be achieved if Rayne has had direct physical contact with the object within the past few minutes. Otherwise, she has no authority over it. (For example: If for some reason, Rayne dropped a very precious artifact, causing it to shatter on the floor, the action of the object alone would rewinding in time, restoring the shattered pieces to the original artifact.)
Lyte Restoration can also be used to disrupt the flow of time in a localized, minor area, causing all motion of non-living things to be significantly slowed. This localized field is no greater than a small room at best, and living beings within it continue to move as they normally would through time and space.(For example: If Rayne used Lyte Restoration to disrupt the flow of localized time in a tennis match, the tennis players would continue moving as normal. However, the ball that just bounced off the racket would seem as though it were standing still unless carefully observed, in which one would notice that it's just moving very slowly. Essentially, everyone would be moving extremely fast in comparison to all non-living things.)

Words words blah Mooooo. Insert as many categories as you like.
Friends, Allies, and Family
Roman Darke - Rayne's opposite, for all intensive purposes. Roman is the masculine counteracting element to Rayne, bringing balance to her state of being. He is a Trublood, as Rayne is, and the one who is most responsible for introducing the Darke embrace into this plain of reality. Whenever actively partaking in any situation, Roman usually prefers to remain in the shadows. Manipulation is his favorite way to accomplish a task. While he an Rayne rarely, if ever, see eye to eye, he is still technically 'family', and the two have no other option but to interact.
Vectra Darke - Roman's 'counterpart', and Vash's counteracting element, Vectra is the Trublood opposite of Rayne. The feminine aspects of Vectra cause her projection to appear as a female, like Rayne. She, like Roman, is one Rayne rarely can agree with, however she is still an ally in that she also preserves the balance. Vectra is always difficult to read. She never seems to have on direct way of handling any situation. In fact, she doesn't usually seem active at all. Only after various events unfold, does she reveal her work.
Vash Darke - Vash is Rayne's masculine 'counterpart', and Vectra's counteracting element. He is also opposite of Roman. Vash generally likes to watch any given situation from afar, rarely stepping onto the playing field to deal with any potential issues. He was last to set foot on this plain of existence. Vash is the Trublood whom Rayne is able to relate to most, and with that, tolerate.
Lady Veronica - The first person Rayne would remotely consider a 'friend', and to this day, the person she remains closest to on Terra Firma. Veronica is an especially unique comrade, as she herself is a vampire, the very thing Rayne originally came to destroy.
Mazeura - A younger vampire who belongs to Veronica's coven. Mazeura is another curious individual, in the fact that Rayne has deep respect for him. Despite being an abomination, and even though rarely respected in vampire society for being a new born, Rayne appreciates the level head he maintains in any situation. She also finds his wisdom admirable.
Shyla Blaze/Shyla Blaize - Hardly an friend, or even an ally. The only reason Rayne hasn't killed the young Lycan is the fact that she is the host of the Lyte embrace, a new code of energy which has been placed on this plain of existence to counteract the Darke embrace. Shyla herself, however, has quite a mouth on her, which even rivals Rayne's. If not for being so valuable, Rayne would surely have killed the girl by now.
Sinister Surge - Lee became a vampire shortly after meeting Veronica. Rayne frowned upon this at first, and hated him from the beginning. However, after he mysteriously went back to his previous humanity, Rayne took a surprising liking the the man. She considers him a close ally, and almost a friend, which is more than most others have achieved.
Labal - A 'friend' of Rayne, as well as Veronica, the Ashen King has only given Rayne reason to frown on him once since their meeting. Apart from that, she views the demon lord as a valuable ally, if the time should call for one.

OOC Info
Rayne Darke is, without a doubt, extraordinarily overpowered character. However, I want to assure everyone who might interact with her that I, the player, do NOT Godmode, nor to I tolerate it. Now, I'm sure you're thinking "Yeah, that's easy enough to -say-, and then when we RP, you're going to blow my character's head off!" This is far from true. While a few people have said this to me in game, NO ONE who has actually INTERACTED with the character has said anything of that sort. If anything, I've received a wealth of compliments about the presence the character delivers.
While this character does have an extreme concept, the biggest part of that concept is the fact that using all of that power would literally defeat her own purpose, and she wouldn't exist.
However, I also don't ask you to assume she's weak. Many people have issues with players who make several alts of the same character. In my opinion, as long as it realistically fits in with the character's concept, there's nothing wrong with it. So if you have any doubt that I've taken time to make this character as EXTREME as she says she is, remember that I've leveled her to 50 three times, and have also leveled her to 30 twice(which I'm still getting to 50). So that whole "level 2 demi god vampire monster'" crap isn't really going to have much meaning. And as for time to actually develop the character ICly, she made her first appearance 2 years ago. I'd like to think that's worth something.
I apologize for that little speech, but I just really want to make sure no one is discouraged from role playing with me/the character. Basically, I'm just asking you to approach with an open mind, so that I can disprove any potential doubts! Thanks! =)
