Supergroup: Inhuman League

Ribsl has joined this unsual group of animals, robots, supernaturals, and undead. It's worth noting that the only non-animal people that Ribsl trust without question are members of this group. Everyone else, even if obviously non-human, remains suspect.

Personality

Ribsl has a rather feral personality. Openly advocating genocide of the human race has not exactly endeared him to the world. Ribsl was deeply scarred by the experiments that led to his creation, and lashes out at the world in pain and fear.

Despite his hatred of humanity he has managed to consider some of them as "okay." For Ribsl this is more of a list of humans he would kill last than any true friendship.

Animals are another matter. He will side with animals in any discussion, although he gets nervous around cats who aren't members of the Inhuman League or the Rogue Islands Pet Shelter.

Non-human, non-animal beings tend to confuse him. He generally lumps them all with humans unless they specifically tell him otherwise. Ribsl will try to ignore them as much as possible since they don't fit into his world view very well. His world is very black and white and the thought of shades of grey makes Ribsl rather nervous.

The exception to his normally very speciest outlook comes towards those who were the victims of torture or medical experimentation. He will adopt an almost compasionate stance towards such people regardless of whether they are human, animal, or something else entirely.

Character History

A Cruel Experiment

Ribsl started out life as an ordinary rat. The now defunct Rogue Islands BioScience Laboratory in Cap Au Diable was experimenting with animal subjects, trying to turn them into tools for Lord Recluse in his war against Statesman and the heroes of Paragon City.

His body was altered through a mix of chemical cocktails and limited genetic alterations. To enhance his combat ability they implanted a few cybernetic parts, most notably his claws.

((If you have ever seen the episode of Cowboy Bebop "Pierrot le Fou", I'm picturing Ribsl going through a similiar training regimen as Mad Pierrot.))

Escape to the Streets

After a few years with the Laboratory, Ribsl was able to escape in the confusion caused when the Lab cam under attack. Ribsl is unsure who exactly attacked the base resulting in his freedom, nor would he be paticularly grateful to those involved. His current guess is a rival faction of Arachnos or the Luddites found throughout Cap Au Diable.

Also escaping along with him was his "brother," another rat who had been subject to the same series of tests. They were seperated in the chaos they found outside the Lab and have not seen each other since. Occasionally Ribsl make half-hearted attempts to locate this rat; mostly Ribsl believes his brother to be dead.

The Shelter and the Gorilla

Shortly after entering the streets of the Rogue Islands, Ribsl ran across another animal known as Drone Dog - PUPC. PUPC was the first of the animals to join the Shelter, having been placed there by Lord Recluse himself. PUPC managed to convince Ribsl that he would be safer with the protection of both the Shelter and Lord Recluse than alone on the streets.

The current purpose of the Shelter (to build a vast, all conquering army of happy pets) left Ribsl a little uneasy. While he continues to respect its members, even Ribsl couldn't help but see how it serve Arachnos, a "stupid human" organization. Ribsl has currently left the Shelter after receiving a promise from Dr. Silverback that the Inhuman league would afford him many more chances to kill humans.

Powers

Claws

Ribsl does most of his attacking with the metal claws implanted in his forearms. Relying more on his stealth, agility, and sheer ferocity than a coordinated attack strategy, Ribsl is truly a dangerous foe in combat.

Super Reflexes

Regulary doses of various chemical cocktails back at the Lab have left Ribsl with incredible agility and reflexes. Able to dodge most close range attacks, Ribsl has even shown a limited ability to avoid bullets and other high speed objects. Despite this, Ribsl's small size leaves him unable to keep fighting after taking more than a few hits. Those times when an opponent is able to land a blow usually send him scurrying back into the shadows.

Super Leaping

Ribsl's small size and powerful leg muscles have given him the ability to leap vast distances. His preferred routes of travel are generally across the rooftops of buildings.

Minor abilities

Ribsl is not adverse to using small pieces of technology if they make his life easier. Currently he carries a small transmitter capable of tapping into both the Rogue Island and Paragon Emergency Teleport Systems. Using this device he is able to teleport allies to his location, increasing his utility as an advance scout for the Shelter. Ribsl does possess a suit of power armor given him by PUPC, however any powers of the suit or if it even augments his own abilities are not known at this time.

Vulnerabilities

Ribsl's biggest weakness is the easy with which he can be distracted. Fallen bodies, whether of friend or foe, are usually searched for either edibles or shiny objects in short order. Ribsl has even been known to remove pieces of the bodies to eat later, storing them in one of the pouches he wears.
