Robot Ninja
From Unofficial Handbook of the Virtue Universe
This machine has no knowledge of who created him and why. His first memory involves finding himself slumped over in an alleyway of Kings Row back in 2004. Upon studying himself, he discovered he had somehow sustained incredibly heavy damage to his systems. He roamed the city in search of someone to help him. Two heroes found him and, after commenting that he looked like "some kind of robot ninja", helped escort him to a lab. Upon repairing his systems and replacing parts of his heavily damaged exterior, the engineers questioned the machine in an attempt to determine who he was and why he was hurt. It got them no where.
The only thing the machine knew was that the heroes that rescued him called him a "robot ninja". Without any sort of name, the machine began calling itself just that. he knew nothing of society, history, or human interaction. He was a cold, lifeless robot incapable of emotion or empathy. But he was determined to change that. He embarked on a journey alone, dedicated to discovering who he was, whether that meant carving a new path for himself or finding the one he left behind.
Throughout his journey, he began discovering just what he was capable of. Coming into conflict with the various criminals of the city armed only with a metal bow magnetically equipped to his legs, Robot found he could generate arrows out of scrap metals around it. He also had a variety of gadgets, weapons, and tools found throughout and within his body. The machine was highly skilled in stealth and ranged combat, and could easily disable and subdue nearly any opponent he faced.
Taking in his surroundings, over time Robot began to be influenced by the many heroes and helpless civilians of Paragon City. Watching the various humans live and react to certain situations, Robot began to adapt and grow a personality of his own. It was this that caused the machine to dedicate himself to protecting life, registering himself as a super hero with the FBSA and beginning his fight against crime.
Years after becoming a hero, Robot patrolled Steel Canyon in search of crime. Suddenly, he heard an explosion. He saw that it came from a building being attacked by a group of arsonists known as Hellions. Jumping into the scene, and the building itself, he quickly rescued any remaining people trapped within while other heroes defeated the thugs and saved the building. Because of this, he met a woman by the name of Aisynia. She liked how Robot handled the event and offered him admittance into a Super Group called The Echelon. Not used to teaming with others, he initially denied the offer. It wasn't until days later that he realized that he could do more for the city on a team than alone. It would also help him learn to better interact with others. And so he joined the group of heroes.
They had quite a few adventures, with Robot and his abilities helping save the day on many occasions. The group even managed to help him evolve and grow as a person. Unfortunately, these days of happiness came to an end when the Shade Sentinel, the Echelon base, was destroyed. It was because of this event that the group members had decided to part ways and pursue other things in their lives.
After leaving the Echelon Robot decided to keep to himself, very rarely working with other heroes. He did not want to take the risk of joining a new team of allies only to lose them all again. He had worked solo for nearly a year until, by chance, he discovered the Palladium Sentry while helping fight a villain along side the Knight Sentinel, leader and founder of the group. Each hero had impressed the other, leading to the Knight Sentinel offering Robot a spot on his team. Although reluctant at first, Robot accepted the offer and became a member of the Sentry.
Throughout his career in the group, Robot became an invaluable asset to the team. Whether it's gathering information on the latest criminal they need to face, keeping the team organized and together, or simply offering a word of advice every now and again, he's become someone to respect by all. It was because of these traits that he saw himself become one of the leaders of the Sentry, an initially awkward position for a machine that prefers to keep to himself. Although he's never been one to socialize much at all, he's become close friends with Divine Maiden and Brynn Porter, two other members of the Palladium Sentry.
Seven years have gone by since he woke in that alley in Kings Row, and since then he has done nothing but good for the people of Paragon City and the world in and of itself. He has developed a strong personality, attachments, and personal beliefs. He still doesn't know why he was created, but that has become nothing more than a curious thought for an inquisitive mind. All that needs to be known is that he is the Robot Ninja, the silent protector to all.
Robot is a relatively quite and peaceful machine. He prefers the comfort of solitude and a good book, but is not beyond occasionally socializing with a teammate or helping someone with a piece of advice. He's always calm, very rarely if ever letting his artificial emotions get the better of him in any situation.
The machine refuses to kill, no matter what the situation is. He always makes sure that anyone he faces will be subdued and turned into the authorities, firmly believing that life is the most valuable of gifts given to everyone, and no one is in a position to take that away as they see fit.
Robot Ninja prefers the quickest, most efficient, nonlethal method of taking down enemies. He wields a metal bow that can be taken apart into two halves and magnetically attached to his legs. The machine can create arrows from scrap metals by placing them in a compartment in his left forearm and ejecting the finished product from his right. Along with this, he has a variety of small gadgets and abilities thanks to his robotic body.
Robot Ninja is capable of...
- Becoming invisible to both the naked eye and infra red tracking
- Increased strength and exceptional leaping and running abilities
- Scanning and detecting anything within 400 yards of him with a variety of different types of vision
- Using a projection hologram system to disguise himself as anyone and change his audio frequency
- Recording events onto his hard drive and review them
- Firing tasers from small pop up guns on his arms
Robot has a variety of weaknesses, however. He's highly susceptible to electric or magnetics attacks due to his robotic body. His systems are also almost as fragile as that of a normal human, of which he overcomes with exceptional stealth and ranged combat abilities. He also requires daily maintenance to ensure his systems perform optimally, thanks to his age. However this only seems to take an hour on average per day, leaving him capable of running the other twenty three non stop.
- Robot was a character I had made long ago, before I ever got into RP. Originally, he was just a joke character, but due to a combination of my discovery of RP and love for archery, he's easily become one of my most thought out and favorite characters.
- His unofficial theme song would have to be Aerodynamic by Daft Punk.
- Robot hasn't always looked how he does now. Originally, he was a combination of the half helmet with visors, the Stealth set, and Techbot set. It didn't suit him well.
