History
Childhood
Little is known about Vladimir’s, better known under the alias of the Russian Warthog, early childhood, except that he was born and raised in a tough neighborhood in the city of Voronezh, Russia. His father was a violent alcohol abuser and a small-time crook that had relatives in high places within the local police force, making him virtually untouchable. At an early age, Vladimir was unusually exceeding the size of other children his age and even that of his teachers, something which he took advantage of by becoming the school’s bully. His career of intimidation and extortion began at school, where he ran a protection racket. He knew he was going to be something special in the world when, aged just nine, he had the headmaster pleading for his legs to be left intact after a missed payment. Despite his sheer size and strength, Vladimir was unable to confront his father who terrorized him and his family, until one day when he decided he had enough of seeing his mother and sister tormented. At the age of twelve, Vladimir was incarcerated for snapping the neck of his father in two, effectively killing him. His father’s cousin, the chief of the local police, ensured that the young Vladimir would spend his teenage years in a tough and isolated labor camp for juvenile delinquents. He was sent in a merciless, confined region high in the cold mountains of Siberia. During his detention, the Warthog was constantly mistreated by the guards who made it their business to beat him on a regular basis. They had to be at least four to retain him, with two more inflicting punishment. An already tough fellow on his own before the correctional facility, the beatings and the strenuous labors only served to make him stronger and more enraged. By the age of 16, the Warthog was 6 ft 10 tall (1.83 meters) and weighted 374 lbs. (169 kg). It is at that time that Vladimir received his first alias; he was dubbed the Slavic Bulldozer by his fellow detainees.
Professional Wrestling Career
Eventually, word of his great size lured an eager wrestling promoter to the camp who bought the Warthog’s freedom from the hands of the corrupted guards. For two year, the Warthog trained inside the ring. However, it was difficult to find wrestlers who were willing to train with him because of his size and strength. He made his official in-ring debut at the age of 18 as a “heel” under the name of The Unforgiving Giant, he was then 7 ft tall (2,13 meters) and weighted 410 lbs. (185 kg). For the next few years, he wrestled in arenas and carnivals throughout Russia and became a pro-wrestling star, collecting numerous championship prizes in the process. However, his reign at the top did not last long when his second murder took place during a championship match on live television. Although this time it was accidental, the victim in question was Captain Red, an all-time favorite of the crowd. The latter died after receiving a backbreaker which broke his spine in half. Although the Warthog was not found guilty, his career in professional wrestling was over.
Undergound Fighter
Vladimir did not show any signs of regrets after the incident and even took a certain unexplainable pleasure in taking the life of someone for the second time. In an attempt to regain the same adrenaline, he quickly moved on to participate in illegal underworld death matches where he became an instant success under his current alias; the Russian Warthog. Many fell to the Warthog’s impressive mixture of wrestling maneuvers combined with his sheer strength. By the age of 21, he was 7 ft 5 and weighted 521 lbs. and had an astonishing record of over 100 wins and 0 losses. Having decimated most of the underworld roster, promoters eventually ran out of opponents to fight him and decided to move on American soil.
