Early Years
Born in Alexandria, Egypt to a wealthy family, made good grades in school and showed an interest in growing flowers and other plants.
University, Work, Transformation
Having a wealthy family and being intelligent opened a rare door for Hasna in an arabic society. She was able to gain entrance into the university of Cambridge and soon delved into her two passions: botany and biochemistry of plants and their interactions with other living organisms. She excelled in her studies, and spent years to earn a doctorate in her field of biochemistry. Her primary published work detailed on theoretical and tested methods of increasing crop yields in arid climates by utilizing careful splicing of native desert plants with food crop.
This drew the interest of a company in her native Egypt who would be more than pleased to expand farmlands beyond the limits of the Nile. While this company had a lot to offer, Hasna soon found it it was only because they cut other corners. She ended up with a stock of mislabeled chemicals that she gleefuly (due to blissful ignorance) went to work with to create the tardigrade of the wheat world. The chemicals used were highly reactive and had different ideas for what they would do. Soon the lab was a scene out of a horrible murder story. Her thorns sprouted violently in her initial transformation, which left two dozen puncture wounds in her lab assistant, who had been looking over her shoulder in that annoyingly creepy co-worker way. Nine of those wounds would have been fatal on their own.
Hasna wandered out of the lab in her tattered outfit, dazed by the sudden and drastic change to the core of her being. The mix of plant DNA turned her blood to a sap-like substance, and caused her skin to become more akin to plant than human in some places, as well as replacing her ability to grow hair with sprouting leaves.
The authorities did not take long to find the vegitated woman, who had decided to take root not three miles from her lab. She was in a blissful euphoria for truly feeling the sun for the first time. Of course the law did not appreciate the murder, and Hasna's judge viewed the matter to be handled to the most extreme letter of Sharia. Unable to defend herself due to not having a lucid mind, she was condemned to being stoned.
But of course throwing rocks at a tree usually does not kill it. The day she was to be burried she "awoke" due to her plant-like nature giving her the ability to regenerate nearly any wound given enough time. Those in charge of handling her were startled by this and made feeble attempts to erase records of her stoning before shipping her to Longbow and the Zig as a dangerous supervillain.
Present Day
Such a drastic change would damage anyone's psyche, the previous incarnation of Hasna is not dead, but not remembered very clearly by Sabi. Her brain is mostly vegitated and constantly produces chemicals that send her into low-key hallucinations and mild euphoric highs. As a mixture of all of this, she seems to be unable to grasps names and faces save for a few she encounters often. Merely classified as a villain, Sabi has no real distinction between right and wrong. She simply does things because they bring her more pleasure.
Sabi? Sabi.
Appearance
Sabi still very much looks like a woman when sporting her full transformation, and often only wears a veil for clothing and instead utilizes leaves and mosses to keep herself tastefully covered. She also appears to have sprouted large insect-like wings which are actually leaves that serve a dual purpose of granting flight, and absorbing more sunlight.
She is able to conceal her plantlike nature due to her growing mastery of her body and its nature. She however, is still unable to grow hair. But that is okay because Sabi likes her wig.
Personality
Outgoing, forgetful, and extremely short on attention while abundant on energy. She is definately a case of ADHD. Her mind is often child-like in nature but her bouts of lucidity show a still somewhat intelligent person underneath
