Whiteout

((After mulling it over and some "subtle" begging from a friend, I'm moving Seismecca over to Champions Online, not as the same Seismecca from CoH, but an "ultimates version". This is just a fun little end to her story. It takes ques from "The End" or whatever project there is to RP the end of CoX, so it deals with not only the end of RPing, but the destruction of the CoX universe as well. Timeline-wise, this would be happening November 30th. The white lines are from The Death of Gilgamesh, a Sumerian poem))

You must have been told that this is what your being a human involves.

My name is Seismecca
And this is my last story.

It had been going on for days.
Everyone was on edge. The world felt coarse and uneven.

The darkest day of humans awaits you now.

Nobody knew why.
But everyone could feel it.

Then it started.
Outpost Omega came under attack.
Rularuu forces, the same that had left the foreign base alone before became suddenly enraged. Confused. Changed.
The sound they made....It was inhuman. It made us sick to our stomachs. It was all we could do to hold them off.

We consulted The Voice of Dagon, sure that he had the answer.

He was afraid.

The solitary place of humans awaits you now.

We ditched the base, set it to blow and ported back to the mainland.
What we found was worse.

Whatever had affected the Rularuu had affected the Isles, and Paragon City as well. The evacuation had started, droves of people were herded down streets by heroes and villains alike to safety. It appeared as if the forces of the universe had taken form and were destroying reality itself. I thought the Rularuu were hard to look at. These things...you couldn't focus on them. They had length, width, breadth, and a couple other things. I've yelled at gods, killed demons and other unbelievable things. But these...these things. They just brought fear. For the first time in my life I was petrified.

We were all afraid.

For the first time the United Underworld split. Some went to say goodbye to friends, some went to gather precious material possessions, some to plan, some to loot.
I joined the Resistance.

The unstoppable flood-wave awaits you now.

In the end it was futile. You can't fight the forces of reality. But for us it brought peace. Peace in battle.
We fought them with attrition. Town by town, block by block. We leveled entire cities to slow them down. The time those..things spent going through rubble was precious time we had to form a new plan.

Slowly we inched back towards our last remaining land, Peregrine Island. While we fought, others had devised a plan to save us. It was risky, but better than our current situation. We would use Portal Corp. The catalyst for so many conflicts, so many wars, as our last beacon of hope. Even for a villain, hope is better than nothing.

The unequal struggle awaits you now.

There I met Inferno. He informed me that he hadn't seen anyone else here before me. Every member of The United Underworld had gone missing after that first day. I was never one to worry, but the cataclysm had shook me to the core. It was hard to focus, as the those things moved in around us, you could feel the fabric of the time and space tearing at the seams.

The unavoidable battle awaits you now.

So we decided.
We pushed through the crowds on our way to the portal. Our last distance to safety. Standing on the edge we looked back on last time....and I stayed behind.

My name is Danielle Montano
And this was my last story.

The unescapable evil awaits you now.
