Alistair "ShadowLight" Kingston is the head of a private corporation based out of London, England. The company's purpose has evolved with his vision that government experimentation against meta-humans is an unacceptable act against an often powerless segment of the population. Iron Fortress, Inc. was founded along the ideas of consolidating and commercializing the work of those that had banded with him under that vision. While it serves as a contract security firm, the group has built contacts within the local communities it has become based within to arm itself with the weapons within the legal world.

He has often come into conflict with established supergroups (on both sides of the line) due to his investments into the 'hero-for-hire' business trend that has begun to cause the rise of small time contract groups of late. While not as large as Hero Corps or Crey Industries, he has begun to work to strengthen their overseas influence within the United States.

History and Origins

The Fallen

“It sates itself on the life-blood
of fated men,
paints red the powers' home
with crimson gore.
Black become the sun's beams
in the summers that follow,
weathers all treacherous.

“Do you still seek to know?”
~Poetic Edda, the priestess to Odin when asked on Ragnarok

Shadowlightsicklespearhammer.jpg

The actual history and origins of the hero known as ShadowLight are said to be rooted in the ancient era of the Aesir-Vanir War that rocked the Viking pantheon in its earlier days. After the war, the tribes of gods elected to exchange hostages in order to secure peace. The Vanir had offered Njord and two others to their former enemies. At the time, several of their servants that had fought the war were dispatched to protect them during their time among the Aesir tribe. Among them, a guardian was selected to lead the guard. His actual name, however, has been lost to the course of time due to the interpaly of events that would come to follow.

The captain of the hostages' guard had drawn the attention of Loki' due to his discontent with the situation. In his attempt to sew discord, Loki' targetted the Vanir guardian and approached him with information. He quietly revealed the location of a wolf known as Fenrir that had been bound at a location away from the Aesir's homeland. He explained to the captain that the wolf had been bound in order for it to be used in a future conflict with the Vanir. Acting out of protection for his charges, the Vanir immediately accepted the information at face-value not yet knowing the deceptive nature of the prankster god of their hosts.

Once he arrived at the wolf's location, the captain had taken it upon himself to attempt to destroy the wolf. What he had not been told was that Fenrir was a far older threat than their arrival. The wolf had been growing out of control and had been said to be fated to destroy Odin during the battles of Ragnarok. It had been bound in order to protect the gods and prevent it from carrying out its destined role. His attempt to destroy the beast would come to fail, even though the wolf had been bound by a magical cord and impaled into place by a sword by Thor sometime ago. When he had drawn near, the wolf had managed to bite the captain and infect him with its hatred fo the Aesir for their betrayal when they had bound it into place. That rage also would come to carry the wolf's desire for Ragnarok so it could finally gain its revenge.

While the Vanir captain was away, Loki' confronted Odin and the other gods about his 'betrayal' of his hosts. At his words, he claimed the captain had left to the forbidden site in order to release the wolf in revenge. Through his trickery, he was able to fool the attempts of the rune readers to believe his claim. In the end, the false information was in the ears of the Vanir's hosts once he returned wounded by his atttempt. With the rage of Fenrir fresh in his blood, the Vanir captain suddenly found himself confronted by the guardians of Odin over his actions. The fiery argument that erupted left several of the Aesir guardians injuried causing many to assume that Loki' may have been truthful for once in his life.

Hunted by the Aesir warriors, the captain was stripped of his powers ane left with only traces of his former self. The one thing he was permitted to retain was his immortality in order to learn to regret his actions in time. Under the weight of Odin's curse for his 'actions' at the site of Fenrir's prison, the Vanir was furthur erased from the legacy of history. The curse went as far as to wipe the Vanir's actual name and 'self' from him—along with the minds and hearts of the Aesir. Mortals were also affected by the curse as the loss of his very identity and sense of self were wiped away. In the captain's place, the only remains were a creature that would become known as the 'Fallen' among the Aesir.

Over the years, the fallen Vanir has been unable to use any form of name and call that idenity truly his own. His agenda has set his sites on eventually breaking forth the feared time of Ragnarok in order strike at his former comrades. In his eyes, he feels that the time of the old gods has come to an end and an age of man has evolved to take its place. Unlike the predictions of the Poetic Edda that claimed of the old gods would survive, it is his hope to see a complete purge that will allow a new generation to take their place in the end.

Fragments of History

A rosary dated to the early 1400s. A gift given to Alistair at his first knighting ceremony.

Alistair's actual history between his fall and emergence into the public eye during the 1930's exists in broken fragments. Little, if any, records exist due to the effects of the curse that would cause them to fade quickly in six months after they were created. The only remains are the relics of assumed names that detail only the actions of a mysterious figure that historians can find little evidence beyond what often seem to be fictional stories.

What little that has been discovered is that he had settled in what would become modern day England after his curse and casting out. Over the years, he had established various identites at different times of human history. From a rogue to a knight of the court, he has held his share of infamy and favor depending on his views of the current society of the times.

When Christianity came to England, it was said that had forsaken the religions of the old ways to accept the path of the missionaries. From that time forward, he was often involved in different aspects of the Church until the 1800's. A few relics exist outside of his own archive hinting to practicing as a priest in a monastary to serving as a member of the Knight Templars during the Crusades.

This period of his life consists of many different rumors and speculations. In many cases, few of the stories have fully been linked to him. Either way, if any are true, he has yet to comment publically to confirm or deny any questions about the similarities.

The Second Great War

The meta-human known as Alistair “ShadowLight” Kingston was said to have been born in the era of the Great Depression that had gripped the world. After the first World War, his family had been living in Norway attempting to make their way within the world's downturn. His early life was fairly mundane in regards to events. Very little has survived due to the location of his family's farm in a ruarl area of the country. But, it was said that it was through this time he had learned a strict work ethic and the old-fashion manners that have come to follow him through his current business experiences.

His life as a meta-human, however, would not emerge until World War II. When the global conflict had gripped much of Europe, he had left his home for England on rumors of how far the conflict had esclated. Alistair was quick to enlist within the ranks of the British military as a serviceman. But, his role and life would change during a skirmish overseas in France when the Allied powers were attacking the beaches of Normandy. He had been part of a landing team that had been assigned to set down on the beaches. Alistair's team was caught in the crossfire leading to the deathes of many of his comrades in the assault. Cut down by enemy fire himself, he found himself left still alive after suffering what should have been a fatal attack. After the shock, Alistair was able to retrieve the few survivors of his team and draw them back to safety from the heaviest of fighitng.

Alistair's actions would lead to his beginning into the world of heroic work. After the discovery of his powers, he was offered enlistment into the British group known as the Praetorian Order. The group worked with the British powers as a strike force on Axis emplacements during the liberation of the European mainland in the later part of the war. While lacking any apparent offensive powers as a meta-human, his virtual immortality worked to allow him to assist with clearing defensive positions of the enemy to allow normal troops through the lines.

Near the end of the war, Alistair's role within the Praetorian Order would slowly change with the introduction of a new power to his power profile. While securing a small town tha that had been captured by the Axis-powers, he was part of a group that protected a small hospital that had been serving as a holding point for wounded Allied soldiers that were captured by the Axis-forces in the area. A member of the staff had quietly been working to aid the more criticaly wounded while hiding a secret from their Axis captors. The young woman, Audrey Sinclair, was a British volunteer that had long hid the secret of being a powerful empathic-healer.

Audreys' family would prove to hold long-established ties within the magical community back in England. Through their relationship, the magical community later began to formalize their contributions by entering the public eye. The enlistment within the Order exploded with this new infusion of heroes drawing from the more ancient arts. It was this merger that saw Alistair receiving the gift of a black metal bracer at Audrey's request to the council of her organization. The bracer would come to reveal itself to be useable by certain people of unique heritages. It could never been placed his exact bloodlines, but Alistair would become the first to be able to unlock the relic's secrets.

The relic's powers were shown to tap into the essence of a Netherworld layer allowing the user to tap into the essence of entropy. Through the bracer's power and innate agility, he evolved into the hero known as ShadowLight—a hand-to-hand fighter that was able to maniuplate the bracer's talents to augment his melee combat skills. Audrey would come to serve as his partner known as Light Shard in their work with the Order. After the war, he was asked to remain on with the Order in service to Great Britian as other nations began to showcase their own leagues of super-powered agents. Over several years, his team was involved in various operations against the remains of the Axis-powers and other enemies of his adoptive homeland.

A Fortress of Iron

The face of Alistair Kingston and ShadowLight have long been public information since the 1970s.

The Praetorian Order would come to face a severe decline as their work began to expose an fightening side to governmental interest in meta-humans. Operations by the Order would come to uncover secret experimentation to super-soldier programs at the expense of these unqiue indviduals. By the late 1960's, Alistair had been the longest serving member of the Order and his focus began to shift from British protectism to a focus on meta-human rights. As new members began to draw into the fold of the organization, the British Parliament had began to call into quesiton the Order's continued dedication to their original mission the government had given them. Orders by the military and various high-level agents had began to be questioned by Alistair and the rest of the command council. The Order's time would come to an end in a media-watched event within Buckingham Palace itself. Slated to be knighted for his work, Alistair and others of the Order formally resigned at the ceremony after several conflicts with ministers in charge of defense projects.

October 1, 1975, Alistiar would come into the public eye with the annoucement that after discussion the remaining members of the defunct Praetorian Order had decided to go commercial. It would emerge as a company dubbed Iron Fortress, Incorporated under the leadership of the former ShadowLight. A publically known immortal, he made no efforts to hide his past as the hero ShadowLight. The group's stance would put itself as a leading adversary to British, and later other world, government attempts to use meta-humans in secret operations. The company had been created in order to give a model that meta-humans could also unite and utilize the legal avenues that ordinary citizens used to protect themselves via courts and media outlets.

Over the years, Alistair has remained at the helm of Iron Fortress, Inc. working to expand the firm into an international entity. His leading focus has always remained with a commitment to meta-human rights. But, as with any firm its nature as 'heros-for-hire,' the corporation has also held its darker secrets. In many ways, it has often been accused of similar methods of Crey Industries of cloak-and-dagger business practices. But, these have often been dismissed as a matter of people attempting to seek news or gossip where none was to be found.

Disgrace and Secrets

In the early part of 2009, a well of dark secrets were found to have been growing in the ranks of Iron Fortress. The company's American division had been under the control of a corrupt executive officer that had sought to buy out the corporation from ShadowLight through manipulation of the company's board. It was through the officer's efforts that he was able to create character attacks by convincing various clients that the company has begun to fall behind in its services. This plan was also the creating force behind a rogue employee known as Leomaris Sterling that waged a campaign of vendetta against the firm after being 'sold out' in a failed contract with Paragon City.

Forced to personally take over the company's operatiosn in the United States, Alistair found himself under the attention of various authorities and news companies. Investigations had already been launched into the accusations of fraud. In the end, it was discovered that things went far deeper than suspected.

After the executive's flight from the United States, it was discovered that the Regenesis Project was serving as the cover for a weapon development firm under the command of a figure known as the 'Weaponeer.' He had been diverting large sums from the company in order to complete a project centered on hydro-power weapon devices. Through the company's front as a environmental project, the Weaponeer had been able to secure access to the rebuilt Fautline dam in Paragon City. Under the guise of upgrades for the hydro-turbines, the group had introduced a new alloy that had been created to react to certain frequences to allow a high-yield release of energy.

A group known as SIGMA and the Paragonian Knights were able to uncover the plot and confront Alistair with the evidence. At the news of a rogue division within his company, he immediately began to work with their investigators to uncover the origin of the materials. Over a short time, it was uncovered that the Weaponeer was actually Alistair himself acting under the influence of a creature known in mythology as Fenrir.

Road to Redemption

In the aftermath of the discovery of Alistair's darker side, he found himself reunited with former friends among the Aesir and Vanir. The investigation team had included agents working on the part of Odin in order to bring an end to the threat he posed. Rather than a fight, however, the reunion allowed an acknowledgement of the part Loki' played in his fall from grace. At the request of Odin, an agreement was reached Alistair would not actively pursue the road to Ragnarok any longer. In exchange, he was cleared of the charges that had been raised against him in the past. The curse, however, was unable to be undone due to the far reaching effects it had to burn him from the actual tapesty of history and destiny.

The legal effects were not as easily dealt with as Alistair surrendered himself to the Paragon police for charges. He went further to admit his responsbility for the events that had led to the formation of Regenesis and entered a guilty plea. Through efforts on the part of SIGMA, he was spared a lenghty prison term. Granted a forty-five year suspended sentence, he was placed on probation for an indefinte period of time to be determined by the courts. As part of the conditions, he was required to register and work with the Paragon City Freedom Corps. Required to remain in the United States, he was also called on to work on reorganization of the company to allow a full disclosure of his affairs.

In the end, the arrangement has forced him to take up his former mantle as ShadowLight in order to combat the evils he and his group once faced. This time, however, he currently works with the Paragonian Knights as an assistant to the Grae Academy and its special ops division.

Supergroup: Paragonian Knights – Honor Battalion

Pk-final print.jpg

Alistair currently is an associate character of the Honor Battalion due to the nature of his role-play role as an rival to the various characters within the organization. While he is an antagonist in many respects, his views fall more along the lines of an alternate form of justice that still remains inside the accepted laws of normal society.

Corporate Ties

Iron Fortress, Inc.

Iron Fortress, Inc. was founded on October 1, 1975 as the world of meta-humans had become more commonplace among the mundane world. The corporation was founded by ShadowLight under the name of Alistair Kingston, a previous unknown with the corporate world. His underlying motiviation for commercialzation of the work of meta-humans was said to be in response to growing government abuses against such people. From super-soldiers to blacklisted medical experiments, these actions were the last straw that had led to the former hero to retire from volunteer work and turn to private enterprise. Founded in order to give meta-humans an organized base to operate from within, the group had evolved into an international business. From its current base in London, England, the company has made its name within what many registered heroes have dubbed 'heroes-for-hire' business.

Past Life Historical Association

A private, non-profit group, Past Light serves as a community-relations division of its parent company, Iron Fortress, Inc. The group works with community programs and unviersities to encourage students with an interest in ancient history. Its main focus remains in Norway and England, but it holds contacts with groups world-wide. The group offers paid interships to masters and doctorate students. It also offers paid careers for those that seek to furthur studies in the fields of ancient Viking and British history.

Regenesis International

Business Front

Alistair as the Weaponeer, the head of Regenesis.

Often considered a side project of ShadowLight, Regensis has come to gain both praise and complaints within the corporate world. Keeping with Iron Fortress' heavy interest in public relations, the group was founded to encourage the development of various green technologies and energies. Unlike many eco-friendly groups, however, the group's purpose is centered in seeking out viable eco-fuels to aid big businesses to become better community partners while retaining their profit margins. Its main focus has remained in the field of hydro-power and conservation sciences in the field of water-based regions. The group makes no efforts to shield its status as a profit-based organization. Its operations are funded by Iron Fortress, Inc. and its investments in various hydro-power dams that have been taken over by the group over the last fifteen years of its operation.

Actual Purposes

After the discovery of the Weaponeer persona that lurked within Alistair, Regenesis has since been revealed to be a cover for a research and development firm. It allowed him to drawn upon the vast funds within Iron Fortress to develop the equipment used by the Weaponeer during his efforts to bring about Ragnorak within the world. After this was uncovered, the company has been brought under the umbrella of the Iron Fortress firm in order to protect the legal jobs of those that worked for him. Regenesis is the company's Rogue Isle's division and is highly montiored by various factions within the legal department.

Individuals

Audrey Kingston, Alistair's wife.

Audrey Kingston The long-time companion of the hero called ShadowLight, she originally had appeared on the hero scene as the heroine known as Light Shards Since has since retired from public life and married her former partner. At present, she resides at their family home in Yorkshire, England avoiding the eye of the press that often follows her husband's work. Her main focus remains on raising their young daughter Shard.

Shard Kingston The only daughter of Alistair and Audrey Kingston, Shard is a young teen that has been kept out of the spotlight that often follows the head of Iron Fortress and two former heroes. While Shard is not her formal name, the young teen has adopted it in honor of her mother's once heroic past exploits before settling down. Despite the protection of her family, she still has an eye for adventure. In private, she is said to disagree with her father's view of commercialized hero work and would prefer to strike it out on her own with an established supergroup. At present, however, the family disagreements have remained strictly private. According to the few reporters that have attempted to pry into their private life, it has been discovered the girl is currently attending schools centered around educating future meta-humans.

Mister_G The former Headmaster of Grae Academy, Mister G was one of the administration that saw that Alistair got a second chance after his probation was set. He oversaw the school during Alistair's short tenure as a history professor. That time, however, was cut short when the headmaster was attacked by one of the werewolves of the Flames of Ragnarok.

Daria St. Claire The current administrator for the Academy, Daria is currently one of the members of the Paragonian Knights that serves as a probation officer for Alistair. Under her current administration, he works as a Dean of Students for the school.

Personality

Alistairpersonalitybanner.png

The modern, updated armor of the hero once known as ShadowLight.

The public and private face of the one called Alistair Kingston has often surprised story hunters as being one-in-the-same. Unlike many within the corproate climate, he has adopted the idea that being yourself and speaking the truth to the public often goes furthur than attempting to bury dark secrets. Through this idea, he is known for being open with the media and other interviews in regards to his own actions and those by his corportation. Despite this open-nature, those that have dealt with him often have come to find him to be careful and thoughtful of his answers. The truth is a great weapon, but are the manner and way such things are delivered.

Even with his willingness to speak with the press and other outsiders, Alistair is known for trying to keep a normal life around his family life. Reporters and other curosity seekers have come to find themselvers on the end of legal action should that boundary be crossed. The hero has shown a loyal devotion to his wife and daughter, often working to shield them through any legal means from media exposure.

He is known for maintaining a strict code of conduct for himself and his immediate corporate officers—both in public and their private lives. Etiquette and courtesy are highly valued by the former hero in his everyday dealings. While respect is said to be earned, courtesy is something he considers a general, basic right deserved by anyone a person may encounter in life. This ethic has been tested by many reporters and other antagonists in public. While not immune to anger himself, ShadowLight has been shown to deliver a verbal barbs with the same genteel nature as when in a casual setting.

His known hobbies and interest seem to identify directly with his public interest in various art groups. A large found of painting and photography, Alistair has shown himself a contradiction in terms at times. He is known to maintain a large collection of old potraits, photographic works, and ironically a large news archive.

He holds a strict view in regards to the treatement of meta-humans by any form of government entity within the world. Alistair has come to view that commercialization of hero work is one of the best ways to combat the attempts by any group that would attempt to use meta-humans for their own ends. In the past, he has shown little hesitation to rely on the legal recourses and weapons of mass media to exposure any violation of what he considers meta-human rights.

Split Persona

Alistair has been revealed to harbor a split personality in the form of an entity known as the Weaponeer. An advanced weapon designer, under this persona he has shown the ability to draw from all of his normal memories and those of this fracture in his psyche. It has been ruled that the origin of this aspect came from the constant pressure he had been under by attempts of the wolf Fenrir to take control over him. Alistair himself is not fully aware of his actions when under the influence of this asepct of his mind.

Power Profile

EnergyShielding.png Enhanced Agility

One of the few trace abilities he holds from his Vanir heritage, ShadowLight has been seen to display a supernatural agility and slight speed. His reactions seemed based due to a quick reaction time when a danger is perceived allowing him to take actions to avoid it.

EnergyShielding.png Immortality

Due to his origins, ShadowLight holds an innate immortality and resistance to death itself. He is not immune to injury or disease, he is simply unable to succomb to the final results that a terminal disease may hold for a mortal. His ability still requires time to recover from injuries sustained from weapons or other sources.

Knowledge & Skills

Alistairskillsbanner.png

ShadowLight

Under the persona of ShadowLight, Alistair has shown an accomplished skill with both ancient history and modern technology. These skills have mixed to allow him to forge the premise if Iron Fortress which is centered around enhanced security systems. The results of this expertise has allowed developments such as the development of the armor worn by Iron Fortress personnel that has been enhanced with Impervium weave and warding glyphs to aid in resistance to attacks from magical foes. Other rumored advancements from his research divisions have claimed to have created a computer interface known simply as Arcana--an AI system that relies on a magical power base and is able to interact with modern computers. But, such rumors have rarely been confirmed to date.

Weaponeer

Where ShadowLight represents the passive, defensive knowledge of the fallen immortal, the Weaponeer has come to embody a creature forged to find effective routes to cause destruction on a mass scale. Through the influence of Fenrir, Alistair's talent for new ideals has seen the creation of developments such as the hydro-weapons that were discovered under the cover of Regenesis. Through the use of new metal alloys and engineering, he has rumored to have created systems able to ensure flooding through damage of various dams around the world. Beyond what was uncovered during the initial investigations, much of these inventions have since fallen into military hands. Able to draw on both ShadowLight and his own knowledge, the corrupted half of Alistair has proven far more dangerous and tactically-minded than its lighter counterpart.

Von Brotsjór (Hope Breaker)

An ancient relic lost within the realms of the dead known as Hel, the bracer was said to be crafted by a fallen blacksmith that had sought revenge against the gods for the death of his wife. The blacksmith had been cast into Hel by the old Viking gods due to the fact the bracer could bring power to a mortal on par with one of their own. It was stolen from its vaults within Hel by an Aesir maiden and later given to the Fallen—the same Aesir that would later become his wife in the mortal worlds. The bracer draws its power from the realms of Hel allowing the user to focus the natural entropy of decay at their target in combat.

EnergyProjection.png Entropic Assault

The bracer allows the user to focus the entropic energies to augment their melee attacks. The murky energy that are called forth causes an accelerated rate of decay in a target where the user strikes them. The effect builds with successive attacks weakening the target's physical health and makes their attacks diffcult due to the painful buildup of negative energy. While the effects are painful, the damage fades on its own and does not hinder natural healing rates of the target once it passes.

FeldarConversionSkill.png Theft of Vitae

The user is able to elect to steal small portions of the target's actual life force to heal themselves. It also allows one to siphon away vitality to refresh the user's fatigue during a long combat situation. Unlike the usual attacks used with the bracer, attacks via this route have been known to leave possible long-term damage due to the nature of the theft.

EnergyShielding.png Entropic Aura

Once the bracer has been activated, it projects a field if discordant energy around the user. This field enhances the chances of someone that is attacking the user to potential miss their strikes against them.

Abyss Diamond

The origins of this ring have been lost since it's emergence in the arcane circles in 1783. It was first discovered by an aristocrat by the name of Baldwin Sterling. He had been interested in the rising public interest among his younger peers in the occult. It was during one such study, he came across a black onyx amid other pieces he had found. While the other items taken from the site had proven of little interest, the Abyss Diamond seemed to hold a power and presence of its own. Sterling was unable to fully uncover the abilities of the stone. In time, it ended up lost in antique markets until it was purchased by Alistair in a street market. It has since yielded only a few of its many secrets.

EnergyShielding.png Mystic Flight

Heart of Fenrir

The Heart of Fenrir came into Alistair's ownership in the late 1960's during a fundraiser event. A small firm was working to raise money for a failing charity which led to the item purchase. After the discovery of its power and origins, he and his wife had begun to wonder if the stone's arrival into their lives was influenced by Fenrir. A large ruby set into an iron cloak clasp, the heart has shown to only work for those infected with the Fenrir virus.

Weaponeer

Modified Redding Railgun

Alistairrailgun.jpg

One of the Weaponeer's trademark pieces of eqiupment is a prototype railgun. It makes use of the version originally released by Vanguard and taken a step further. Modified to allow use of various ammo types, it's main system makes use of a high velocity projectile system that focuses kinetic force over an explosive source. This has made the device hard to detect, but also demands a high level of upkeep and heat sinks. The weapon reflects the traditional problem that other similar devices in research has reflected--the magnetic rails used to propel ammo devices builds up a high rate of heat due to friction.

Regenesis Orbital Supply System

Since the discovery of the Weaponeer's identity, the supply system has been proven to have been developed through Iron Fortress R&D for a defunct contract. It consists of satellites that remain in a low orbit. These systems serve as a long range sighting system in order to allow for long-range, special shots with the Railguns. They also offer a 'sighting' system to allow a teleporter to move small materials to the user's location. This system is used to allow for a quick deployment of traps and devices used as the Weaponeer while in the field.

Weaknesses

Alistairweaknessesbanner.png

Bölva af Odin

During his fall from Vahalla, Alistair was punished by the effects of a curse issued by Odin himself. Its effects were felt through the mortal world and the ranks of the Norse pantheon. His true name and existence was forgotten from living memory. The process included wiping any hand written records of his deeds along with stories that had existed of him through the tradition of oral histories passed through the mortal cultures. Because of the effect, he was forgotten through the ranks of Vahalla leaving him as a living ghost without a name. The effects has caused him to live under assumed names since he himself lost the memory of his name and very identity. It's effects do not affect any knowledge or memories gained, only a case of simply no longer remembering the person that such information was learned from.

Over the centuries, the curse came to manifest itself that anyone he came to know would forget of him after six months if he did not keep in constant contact. In older ages, this effect came to prove shattering with the duration it took to move between places causing him to remain in one location for a period of time or risk losing an established identity.

The advent of the modern age has lessend the effects of the curse to the point that it does not affect digital or photographic records. It has proven easier to maintain an identity, but the magic's effects still can cause someone to remember any friendship or deals with him. This has proven to be both an weakness and advantage that he has had to work around which is often accomplished by maintaining a hands-on approach with his company and various contacts in the world. Due to this requirement, his corporate influence is limited to a range that allows for maintaining this contact within a six month span between the various sub-companies and corporations associated with him.

A final part of the curse that can be seen more as a boon than a weakness is an immunity to those able to perceive the future or past events. With his 'thread' in the tapestry of events burned out, he exists as a free agent that is unaffected by fate and the idea that destiny sets a course of events in life. This natural 'arcane' makes in diffcult to track unless one is pursuing records via computer systems or a direct electronic link to him (ie. Homing device, GPS unit, etc.)

Fenrir Virus

After being bitten by Fenrir, the wolf, Alistair contracted an infection that has manifested into a pure form of lycampthry. This virus has rewritten his body on the cellular level causing it to become a physical affliction, not a magical curse that is traditional to many 'werewolves' as seen in popular culture. The details and risks of the virus are listed below:

  • Infectious Bite

While in his werewolf form, his bite contains a venom that is able to transfer a weaker version of his curse to another being. The affects do not change the victim's powers, but adds a form of immortality. But, this infection also carries the curse of the rage of Fenrir which can often drive the victim into a complete state of frenzy. It also allows Fenrir to gain a hold deep into the target to utilize them for attacks or actions taken on its part.

  • Bezerker Rage

The curse contains the pure rage of Fenrir which normally has him driven into a constant state of frenzy. This effect has only been kept in check due to the constant presence of his empathic wife and other empaths that are currently in his employ. Through their efforts, they have been able to keep the rage bled off to allow him to remain in control of his actions. Recently, a retrovirus has been introduced to reduce the affects of the rage. But, he still experiences moments of temper that can rise from the restrained aspect of the virus.

  • Fenrir's Influence

The virus creates a link between the wolf known as Fenrir and the subject carrying the illness. Through this link, Fenrir is able to exert various degrees of control. In Alistair's case, the wolf was able to control him to the point of causing him to manifest an entirely new personality that was at odds with his current beliefs. After the discovery of this power, work has been done to allow him to control his darker persona to a degree. But, use of the Weaponeer identity carries the risk of a take over by Fenrir if it is used for long periods of time.

  • Silver Allergy

Alistair shares the classic weakness as most werewolves in mythology. Despite which persona or form he is under, he is still affected by silver weapons that strike him. The effect requires the weapon to be of a eighty-five percent or higher grade. Wounds caused by silver are unable to heal without outside medical assistance in order to remove the traces of silver from a weapon that wounds him.

Stripped Powers

Linked to his banishment from Vahalla, his original powers have been severel reduced to shadows of his former nature. While he maintains his immortality, his physical strength has been reduced common to most mortals. It has been measured his agility can compare with some meta-humans. His former powers of storm summoning were lost as well. Due to this fact, he carries a dependence on magical artificats or technological devices in order to emulate any form of powers that he is able to use. Without access to these items, he is limited to the regular strengths of any mortal creature.
