Silver Rain started as an idea for a costume, with a power set originally inspired by Storm of the X-Men. She quickly departed from there, and is really not based on any one hero, but bits and pieces from many places.

League of Justice

Silver Rain started out as a founding member of the League of Justice. There was a merger with another group, but a majority of the original League characters then split off to form The Circle. With the disappearance of Dr. Trinity, she joined the campus group of CAPES. When the League of Justice reformed, she split her time between both groups, until upon graduation she retired from CAPES

Powers

Silver Rain is a very talented mage. Among her known powers is the ability to control storms and other weather phenomena, transform her appearance radically, and summon up what she refers to as 'Bog Spirits'. She also has the ability to manipulate moonlight and go invisible.

Weaknesses

Rain has a somewhat weakened heart from her past. She is healthy enough outside of this, but is what some would call frail.

History

Rhiona was born in a remote part of Wales into a family of mages. She was marked with a silvery crescent moon on her chest, which led to rather intensive training from her elders at an early age. While she was never told what this meant, she later found out its significance. She trained in magic, but she also spent many hours learning music, especially harp and voice.

She eventually found herself going to Paragon University for a doctorate in Musical Theory. It was also when she meet Dr. Trinity and joined the League of Justice. Soon afterwards, while in The Circle, she was on a mission that involved Crey Industries. Something happened, causing two things.

The immediate effect was a weakness and change in her abilities. In fact, at first, it took effort to remain visible for any length of time. This was also the beginnings of her abilities over moonlight and illusion magics.

The other complication involved her birthmark. Apparently, her family had made a deal with some goddesses in the dim past. Every so often, a daughter would be born with a crescent moon birthmark, indicating a potential avatar for the three goddesses. The problem was, the seed of the goddesses was startled awake, as it were, and this led to slow, but inevitable decline in Rhiona.

Fortunately, they realized what was going on, and with the help of Dr. Trinity, a new body was formed for the awakened goddesses. Unfortunately, to this day, Rhiona is not the sturdiest person in the world.

A rather quiet, withdrawn person except while performing, Rhiona had a hard time dealing with people and putting herself forward. However, a friend introduced her to the idea of roleplaying games, and she hit upon the idea of creating a persona that would let her do something she'd always wanted, to become a DJ at The Cape. After going through the application process, her alter ego, Rain Fox went live.

During this time, she started to come out of her own shell, and is now mostly known for a dry wit, sweet nature and helpful disposition.

Player Comments

While Rain was not my first character, she was the first one that I really played past level 10. Originally, she was a Storm/Elec defender, but when I got to 33, I just couldn't take it anymore. I never liked the Electric blast set, and had only taken it because it made sense.

Rebuilt as a controller, I was much happier and I managed to get her to 50. However, during a scare, I played with making a third version, a blaster version, and that is where the whole goddess plot came from ( though the seeds where there all along. ) There has also been a storm/archery version and a peacebringer version, outside of Rain Fox.
