History

Origins

1926 was the year Andrew Walker, 19, started to work on making an organization that would offer new breakthrough inventions and ideas to companies that would change the world as we know it. By 1932 his dream was complete. He had created The Genesis Research and Development Group - Then a small, but slowly growing team of individuals who had great ideas for updating current inventions and weaponry - as well as creating brand new ones. Unfortunately they did not have the funding to create these things themselves, so the ideas were sold to American companies that already had their foot in the door, as it were.

Within five years the now-renamed GENESIS had amassed enough funds to start creating their own weapons and began to expand - now working on medicines and transportation.

Behind the Scenes I

Spoiler warning: Details about a player-created storyline, or information currently unrevealed about a character, follow.

In 1938, during an archaeological dig in Egypt, a group discovered an ancient tablet which contained inside of it the DNA of the legendary beast Leviathan. After hearing about this, Andrew opened a new branch of GENESIS - the Science department - which was (on the surface) a research program, yet below was a facility working towards bringing back these mythical creatures and, one year later - with word of another World War breaking out, creating super-human soldiers infused with the DNA of these beings. It took four years, but finally a Super-Soldier was created. Unfortunately said Soldier's DNA rejected itself and he died three days later.

After numerous reattempts, this project was scrapped.

Passing on a Legacy

As the years went on GENESIS grew in respect, power, and funding. After the War ended, the company spent a majority of its resources fixing as much of the damage caused by the war as they could. This caused GENESIS to gain favor in the eyes of many and continued growing until 1954, when Andrew was found to have Leukemia. He passed on the company, along with all of it's history, to his son: Andrew, Jr.

The Institute

In 1965 GENESIS created a schooling institute which was designed to help youths with superhuman abilities learn to control their abilities.

Behind the Scenes II

Spoiler warning: Details about a player-created storyline, or information currently unrevealed about a character, follow.

The war was long over, but with a new President heading over GENESIS the research into super-soldiers began once again. By the summer of 1966 over two-hundred fossils and tablets were found over the world and numerous reattempts at creating the super-soldiers occured - each failing time and time again.

Spoilers end here.

New Recruits

In 1975 GENESIS recruited a large number of new scientists to help work on a project that would create a world-cure-all drug.

In the late 80's, GENESIS created two factions - KNIGHTS, and SHIELD - whose jobs were to Fight in any war that were to occur - using their super-enhanced abilities to take out America's opponents with ease (KNIGHTS) - and defend any land if needed using advanced technological devices. (SHIELD)

Behind the Scenes III

In truth, this was a cover. The scientists were the brightest minds the world had to offer, including one by the name of Greives who suggested that the reason all of the past attempts had failed was because the subjects were all "set" in place. This meant that their DNA structures had finished their growth, so could not take completely new structures being implanted. The suggestion was to inject these DNA strands into unborn children, during early development, so that they would absorb it much easier and make it part of the growth process. This was attempted, and in 1977 the first G-Soldier was created, followed by two more in 1979 and 1980 consecutively.

In 1982 word got to Walker that a man by the name of Angham had been excavating in the Gobi desert and had discovered five perfectly preserved remains of ancient mythical creatures. He was offered a place in GENESIS with access to their advanced technology to help him on his own personal projects while working on theirs.

Over the next fourteen years The Angham Project, led by Angham of course, and a team of six scientists - including Greives - created twenty successful "A-Children." Each successful creation of the Angham Project was tattooed with a roman numeral to designate their creation order - all but numbers XIV and XV which, still unknown, were tattooed in the wrong order. Fifteen of these were created within the first five years, three more took a lot longer to create for unknown reasons, an the final two - twins - were born in 1995.

The member's of the Angham Project were:

Angham Sentenced

It was a sad day when Angham was found to have been committing brutal experiments without GENESIS' knowledge, and was aptly sentence to life in prison. GENESIS apologized on national TV for what they had allowed to happen, even if they didn't know about it. Not long after, everything settled down again

Behind the Scenes IV

Spoiler warning: Details about a player-created storyline, or information currently unrevealed about a character, follow.

In '96 Angham, filled with a paranoia that his research would be taken from him, began work on two Super-A-Children who would be far more powerful than the previous twenty. Unfortunately Andrew found out about his plans and had him framed and aptly sentenced to life in the Prison.

Family Ties/New School recruits

In 1996 Slate was chosen to be Andrew's heir, as he had no children of his own. This meant that Slate would become the new President of GENESIS if anything were to happen to him. Slate was put under the protection of Spectrum, a mercenary group created by Andrew in the early 60's to take care of any dirty-business that needed to be done.

Over the years there were many new recruits to GENESIS' school, learning how to control their abilities and usually ended up joining KNIGHTS or SHIELD.

Behind the Scenes V

Spoiler warning: Details about a player-created storyline, or information currently unrevealed about a character, follow.

Every single member of the A-Twenty were raised in different parts of the world, under different circumstances, to see how they would all turn out. At least, that's what they thought. One thing that happened to all of them was that, between the ages of eight and thirteen, they all joined GENESIS' institute (which they thought was of their own will, but actually was Andrew Walker's little-known ability of mind control leadinging them to think they'd need to join due to whatever their make-believe backgrounds had caused them.) All of which, also entered a secret section of KNIGHTS called SHADOW - which was a covert mercenary group who would do all the under-the-radar jobs, such as assassination.

Slate's Leave

In 2002, Slate left to work at a possibly-up-and-coming branch of GENESIS in Costa Rica. He was not heard from again for a good few years.

Behind the Scenes VI

Spoiler warning: Details about a player-created storyline, or information currently unrevealed about a character, follow.

Slate wanted to gain control of GENESIS, and over the years tried to gain control by alerting some of the A-Twenty to their origins and getting them to join him in a coupe. This failed, and he was banished by Andrew to Costa Rica under supervision of Spectrum to keep him out of the way.

Spoilers end here.

Andrew's death/GENESIS dissolved

In 2005 Andrew Walker, Jr. died from unknown causes. The funeral was televised on live TV worldwide May 5th, 2005. With Slate nowhere to be found, and no child from Andrew, GENESIS was dissolved. Both it's US and UK branches were shut down. Over 200,000 people were made redundant.

Behind the Scenes VII

Spoiler warning: Details about a player-created storyline, or information currently unrevealed about a character, follow.

Truth was that the remaining members of SHADOW discovered the truth of their creations and all but one member decided to exact revenge. Andrew was killed, along with many employees. This was all covered up and the story of Andrew dying in his sleep was used to help keep a tight lid on things.

Slate's Return

In November 2008 a press conference was held by Slate, stating that GENESIS was being reformed to help bring the world back into it's glory.

The Present

(( If you read this and you like what you see/want to join, send a tell to @Veedo, or email to Slate Grigio (With GENESIS in the subject so it's not deleted) and we'll sort something out. Almost all spaces in the Head-of departments that are N/A are available (subject to updates), and any employee-level members or recruits into KNIGHTS (Offensive - Fighting), SHADOW (Offensive, behind-the-scenes, assassination, etc. - Limited space), or SHIELD (Defensive - Technology/Devices) are welcome to apply too. I want to make this VG as big as possible, and as welcoming/enjoyable as possible too - so there WILL be events every month - probably more than one. With AE this will be even more fun. ))
