Terra Prima is an NPC created by @BurntHeart's to act as a roleplay mentor to Spirit of Stone to explain his use of controller type powers after he reached level 40 and the Earth Mastery epic power pool set was added to his make up. Terra's main influences came from an overall mixing of the idea of The X-Men working as teachers at the Xavier School, the concept of a mutant hero who was working in a capacity as mentor/teacher.

Supergroup: None as an active member; however, she currently works as a teacher at PRIME
Former Supergroups: Freedom Corps and Longbow
Personality
Terra Prima's personality shifts depending on the setting. While in her current role as teacher at PRIME she is calm and determined in making sure her students understand the material she is covering. She is patient and encouraging when her students are actively participating in class, but she is firm when they are not attentive and misbehaving.
When relaxing with the other facilty, Bethany is friendly and outgoing, at ease with herself. She gets along with the majority of the facilty at PRIME, but rarely socializes with them outside of work. She usually sticks to superficial talk about her personal life, such as a program she may have seen on TV or current events from the news. She hardly ever discusses anthing deeper about her personal life with her co-workers.
When actively persueing hero work, which is mess less now that she has begun working at PRIME, she is all business. She works quickly and effectively and displays almost military style disiplin due to her training with Longbow and work in Freedom Corps. She works with a small group of hero friends but is not part of an actively registered Supergroup.
Powers
Terra Prima is a mutant with the ability to control the elements of earth around her. She can ensnare foes in craggy cages of bedrock from beneath their feet or fossilize in the pilar of solid stone. She can turn the ground beneath them into quicksand or cause it to shake and rumble.
Terra also has the ability to warp the earth's magnetic field around her into small ionized bubbles to either protect herself and allies or trap foes. Focusing her concentration she is even able to force a blast of manipulated ions into a stream of pure concussive force knocking a foe bewards several yards.
Character History
Bethany came to Paragon City by way of Richmond, VA, where she was raised. Her mutation manifested in her 13th year, causing her grief over how this would affect the rest of her life. She was mentored by a local hero in the Richmond area, who taught her to respect and appreciate her powers. He also taught her the legacy of a hero, making sure she understood the road the hero community had been down to get to a world where her mutation was something she could be taken avantage of over.
During his tutalage of her, Bethany learned of a masked heroin in the Richmond area that had taken the mantel Terra Firma and had worked in secrecy during the time of the Might for Right act. Bethany was so taken by this woman, who also controlled the earth, that she modified the older heroin's name and took the alais of Terra Prima for herself, even fashioning her own costume to resemble Terra Firma's.
During the Rikti War, Terra Prima fought the Rikti at several locations in Virginia, including Quantico, and made it as far as Washington DC, aiding the mass of heroes trying desperately to push the invaders back. After the war was over and Statesman made his "Call to Heroes", Terra Prima relocated to Paragon City to help in the rebuilding of the world's super population by training newer heroes that were flooding into the city.
She joined Freedom Corps to work as a field trainer, then transferred to active status within the Longbow ranks. It was during her time working with Longbow that Terra began seeing reports about a fellow mutant with the ability to control the earth, named Spirit of Stone. Terra took great interest in these reports.
The research Terra had done in her youth pointed to the possiblity that the heroin, Terra Firma's, identity was linked to a young Richmond native named Margret Green. Public sightings of Terra Prima ceased in 1970, which corresponded to when Margret Green graduated from the University of Virginia at Richmond and then after marrying Raynard Stone relocated to Coalton, WV.
Terra dug up what intel she could on this Spirit of Stone after seeing the first Longbow report on his work in Paragon, which listed his alais as Thomas Stone formerly of Coalton, WV. As she did some background checks on him, she found that he was indeed the son of Raynard and Margret Stone.
While Terra could not prove that Stone's mother was in fact the former heroin of Richmond known as Terra Firma, she felt in her guts that this was the truth. She then manuvered herself into a position to meet Stone and offer him her hand as a mentor to better learn to use and control his powers. In her mind it was the least she could do to give back to the woman who's legend had given so much to her.
While working with Stone, Terra discovered that any hints about this mother's past were completely lost on him. It appears that when Margret Green became Margret Stone and left Richmond, she left Terra Firma behind and managed to keep her mutatation a secret, living the life of a normal mother and wife. Terra has thus far, not revealed to Stone her belief of is mother's identity.
During the attempted invasion by an alternate version of the Rikti, Link, Terra was approached by Stone and several of his team mates, asking for help in defending Perez Park, which they believed was being used in an attempt to establish a beachhead in this dimension. Terra initially was unconvinced and was prepared to take her unit of Longbow to a scheduled raid on the old Portal Corp facility in Crey's Folly, which was believed to be the main base for the alternate Rikti.
At the last moment, Terra diverted her unit to Perez Park, on a hunch from her gut that Stone and his allies were right. Terra and her unit aided the Guardian Angels Reborn and their motley crew of unlikely allies in the defense of the park. When the battle ended Terra Prima was expelled from the Longbow forces for disobeying an order and diverting those under her command, in spite of the fact that there were no alternate Rikti forces at the site in Crey's Folly. She was allowed to retain her hero license as thanks for protecting the city, but was no longer a member of Freedom Corp or Longbow.
After Dreamkatcher and Brimstone Bobby opened PRIME school, she was approached by Stone, who suggested she work as a teacher at the school, citing what a great teacher she had been to him in helping him gain more control over his powers. Bethany decided he was right and spoke with headmaster, Robert Johnson aka Brimstone Bobby, and was hired officially as a teacher at PRIME.
