History

Hometown

Growing up in Kings Row inspired Drew. Living in one of the worst neighborhoods in Paragon was no easy task at the peak of Superdyne's popularity, and the occasional hero cracking down left a lasting impression on the boy. Despite being a perfectly normal human in every way, he always wanted to someday grow up and clean up King's Row, to make it safe for a new generation.

High School Years

Drew was a fairly average teenager. He did alright in school, played video games, flirted with pretty girls. Like many teenagers around the time 'Fight Club' came out, he and his friends would beat the daylights out of each other on a regular basis. Drew wasn't the greatest fighter, though; his punches lacked 'oomph', and for the first several weeks of hanging out at this underground 'fight club', he would go home bruised and bloody. His newfound appearance didn't exactly help his flirtatious ways, and so he developed his own style of fighting, consisting of keeping his pretty face, well, pretty. Within a few months, the fad had faded, although Drew had already had a taste of combat, and he loved it.

College

As expected by his family, Drew enrolled in Paragon University for a couple classes after graduating high school. He didn't really know what he wanted to do, though, and his mind was usually lingering on the heroes engaging in their legendary feats right outside his classroom window. That was enough for him, and he dropped out before finishing the first semester, going straight to the local FBSA Bureau to enlist himself as a registered hero.

Early Heroing

Having no unique abilities, Drew confined himself mainly to street crimes, working on cutting down gang activities in his home of King's Row. He quickly developed a reputation, due to his habit of strapping knives onto his wrists with athletic tape--a habit which served two purposes; both to give him a little more 'punch', and to intimidate his enemies. It was around this time, as well, that he first donned his trademark sunglasses--an omnipresent feature of the man. For the first two years of his newfound career, he worked with the local PPD precinct as a liaison in gang activities.

Sickness

A scant few years into his heroing career, Drew was tasked on an assignment in Eden. Unknown to him at the time, a rare species of Devouring Earth spores worked their way into his lungs, and lay dormant. Over the coming months, these spores began to grow and reproduce, manifesting their presence first in a persistant cough, and later weakness and inability to even leave his apartment. Luckily, his shy friend Domi Dayglow peered inside his lungs, and didn't like what she saw. Through careful application of her radiation powers, she attempted to kill off the mass of spores inside Drew's lungs, in a last ditch effort that almost killed the man. Her heroic action, combined with the injection of anti-bodies synthesized by Jean Avery, led to his complete recovery.

Tools and Abilities

Inherent Abilities

Fitness_Quick.png Enhanced Cardiovascular Health Drew keeps himself fit with morning jogs through Gemini Park, and constant strength training to keep in peak physical health. While he's not the strongest, and his unarmed punches don't hit the hardest, his training allows him to keep running in top gear longer. "Size doesn't matter. Stamina does."
SuperReflexes_FocusedFighting.png Incredible Reflexes Years of sparring with friends have led Drew to develop a strategy to cope with his sub-par punches. Rather than dealing a knockout blow, he dances around, avoiding every attack until his opponent is too tired to continue.

Tools of the Trade

Claws_BuildUp.png Sharper Image Cutlery Set/GS-1 & GS-2 Drew's punches lack...well, punch. To accommodate this weakness, he strapped on some knives to give himself an extra 'edge'. The strain on his wrists from this crude adaptation took it's toll, though, and Jean Avery designed him a custom set of gauntlets to get the job done--"Gauntlet, Stabby, 1 and 2". "Get the point?"
Invulnerability_ToughHide.png DA-1 Jean's solution to Drew's constant minor accidents was to construct him a suit of armor. "Drew's Armor-1" was designed specifically to allow Drew flexibility in his fighting styles. The armor is a series of flexible scales, allowing his movements to remain fluid, while the attached cape masks his movements.
Ninjitsu_BlindingPowder.png Sunglasses What? They're just sunglasses.
