The Super Troopers : The early Years

the show

You might remember seeing them on paragon public t.v. about six or seven years ago. Then again, maybe not. The show, which only lasted half a season, was a bizzare mix of the power rangers, the mousekateers, and American Gladiator. A sort of reality show, it took a group of costumed tweens and pitted them against various second string super villains in a variety of contests. Of course, the Villains were all carefully screened, and the conditions were very carefully controlled. The participating convicts, while not given their freedom, were rewarded with a variety of perks for appearing on the show. And the Tween heros, known as the Super Troopers, gained nearly instant Stardom.

Frankie Warrs

Frankie, better known as the Strawberry Trooper, was one of the first kids recruited onto the show. She appeared on more than half the episodes, and was unfortunatly known for being involved in trials that involved being dumped in vats of water/oil/gel/coolant, etc. The fact that her action figure changed colors when dropped in cold water didn't help matters. Nonetheless, her tireless optimism, courage, and spunk won the hearts of the fans; even if she wasn't always successfull against the Villain contestants.

The attempted comeback, aka season two

After the show was canceled due to ethical concerns; raised by a number of parents and pta members who suggested that showing tweens fighting hardened criminals MIGHT not be the best idea to put into the heads of non-superpowered children; Frankie went from being a hero idol to being just another

struggling young actress. She worked hard, landing work as a catalog model as well as a few roles in commercials, and one chance at playing the ingenue in a canceled pilot. Eventually, after several meetings with her agents, and a "well rounded" pitch to T.V. executives; they sold the idea of putting the show back on the air. With older and more capable heros, they didn't have to worry as much about sending a dangerous message. Also, they could put the contestants in -less- controlled conditions, in the hopes of bolstering ratings. However, the new show; due to an unfavorable time slot, one trooper being hired away to do a movie, and another being put in prison for Tax Evasion, was canceled.

Where are they now?

How Frankie got her groove back

After the show was dropped, again, Frankie was left without a cent. Her teammates had left, and her agent dropped her. With nothing but a suitcase of worn out clothes, and a greyhound bus ticket back home to Carolina, she turned her back towards Paragon. She hoped to take some time, reevaluate her life, and decide if she was going to "retire" from the stage, or try her luck in California. Perhaps, more than anything, she was trying to remember why she'd come to Paragon in the first place. That, as they say, is when fate intervened. Trafic ground to a standstill on that unseasonably warm spring day, and Frankie stared out the window, barely seeing the cop cars that tore past them, wondering what someone like her was meant to do with their life. She didn't realize what was happening, in fact, until a chunk of street flew through the bus window, nearly hitting her in the face. They were a block form the Talos Mutual Bank, which was being hit by yet another robber from the isles. The Villain was the infamous Nemesis Red. Pulling her tights from her suitcase, Frankie chased him to the Pocket D and confronted him; swearing that if she did nothing else in her career she could at least bring one villain to justice...

Gemuse Force

With a renewed interest in the show, Frankie went back to the studio and fought to regain her contract. Contacting sponsors herself, working late nights helping with grass roots advertising efforts, and always taking any roles she can on the side to help support herself and her family; Frankie has worked tirelessly to restore the Troopers to an ideal time slot. Unfortunately, this also meant studio hired Actors to fill out the missing peices in the team. Ideally this would mean professional screen actors with well honed fighting skills or mutations who were willing to work for peanuts. Unfortunately, neither the studio nor the sponsors were actually willing to pay enough to hire even stunt doubles. So, Strawberry has found herself forced to endure a long string of unprofessional fill ins. Most of these have been either too weakkneed about getting beat up to last for long (one even sueing the studio for pain and suffering); or have had little to no acting experience.Strawcontestpic.jpg

The most promising of these candidates by far has been the Trooper named Plum. He has experience acting on stage, in martial arts tournements, and with stage fighting. Plus, he can learn his lines and has shown up to work sober, so far; and he doesn't have a parole officer. However, Strawberry is nothing if not a little jaded at this point. Stage combat is not the same as fighting for your life, while having to spit out witty improvised one liners. She has thus far barely agreed to give Plum Trooper the time of day, even to the point of refusing to awknowledge him by screen name (she calls him Number Four). It would take a psychic to know whether she truely resents him that much, or if she simply hopes the idealistic boy she sees wearing ridiculous purple, plum musk scented tights quits before he becomes as disenchanted with the facade as she is.

Powers

Frankie's parents enrolled her in Karate classes from a young age, in case she ever landed an action role. So, she's a relatively skilled fighter, in peak physical condition due to constant exercize. The suits the Troopers wear are enhanced to work with their users. Because she was going to be on the front lines of their scripted conflicts, Frankie's suit gives her a measure of protection. It moves as easily as any normal spandex outfit, but it's highly resistant to elements, absorbs impact, and makes the wearer moderately invunerable. It can also mimic and boost her movements, allowing her to hit harder and run a great deal faster than normally possible.

Vulnerabilities

Without her suit, Frankie is still a skilled fighter. However, she loses some strength, and nearly all the protections the suit offers. Also, being used to planned and correographed fights, she tends to tire quickly in a real battle.
