Taliesen

Personality
Taliesen is often quiet and shy but good natured. He's very easilly embarassed but tends to be a good sport about it. He is very driven to protect but not to the exclusion of those he cares about and has a desire to heal and help anyone that he can. He has an aura of innocence about him, despite the fact he has seen a great deal of pain in his life. Nevertheless, he keeps a relatively positive mood about him.
He loves music and plays an exotic stringed instrument (much like a guitar) from one of the worlds he lived on for a brief time. When not playing music, he enjoys listening to it in his local hangout, Pocket D.
His healing abilities also grant him a bit of empathy in sensing emotions of humans and animals, to a degree. It is more felt when he touches them and heals.
Description
Appearance
Taliesen has the appearance of an anthromorphic jackal or fennec fox. He has tall, slender ears and a slim, pointed muzzle. His fur is snowy white, a very unusual feature for his race and he has a long, full, bushy tail. He is small in form but finely muscled, as his race is light and agile. He bears a somewhat graceful androgynous appearance. He walks on digitgrade feet with smallish paws.(I simply don't use them in-game because they're ugly)
Powers
Taliesen is a user of the Force, for all intents and purposes. He holds and lifts and throws, as is seen in most media surrounding the Force. He can crush the life out of someone if he were to take the violent nature as his alternate universe can, but instead he incapacitates, allowing them to sleep it off, of a sorts, by pinching nerves. His healing powers although secondary are there, nevertheless, and his powers hold a bit of emapthic connection to those around him. He can sense feelings and intentions but not read minds.
Personal History
The beginnings
Taliesen was raised on a world far from Paragon Earth in the wild unknown spaces of his home galaxy. His childhood was relatively humble and simple, despite his early illnesses and frailties.
His mother died fleeing persecution for the powers she posessed and also passed on to Taliesen, but before her death, she left him in the care of a small orphanage of holy sisters. There he grew to learn about the peace and serenity of the lifeforce that surrounds him and how it flows with the energy of creation and destruction.
Without realizing it, these teachings formed a foundation to his beliefs and opened him up to exploring the innate powers of empathy and manipulation of these forces that he had gained from his mother.
In the orphanage, he learned to work with these empathies specifically by taking care of the animals there, founding the beginnings of his love and training of them; a profession he still does even now when he isn't working in Paragon as a hero.
Growing Up in Darkness
After years of healing from the sisters and the various healers that tended to him, it seemed that his peculiar weakness and illness had been halted. At sixteen, he tearfully said goodbye to the orphanage and the Sisterhood, whom had been his family since he was a baby, and set out into the world he had been virtually isolated from. The monastic life had not prepared him for the world beyond the orphanage gates, however.
In his travels, he settled in a local college and discovered what a dark and depraved world he truly lived in. Various forms of abuse of mind, body and soul ran rampant and unaided in his world. The world was hedonism at it's very worst. Morality of any kind was frowned upon and further, any acts of heroism or aid were punished severely.
His attempts at trying to help a young girl being attacked, as well as the growing decay of perversion in the world around him drove him to the realization that he could not stay. Taliesen's empathies and sensitivities to creation forces around him reacted badly to the entropic decay, reacting in the form of the illness that had plagued him most of his younger life. Realizing how sensitive to entropic forces he was, he realized that he had to leave. His only regret was having to leave the little Sisterhood in the midst of the corrupted world.
Finding Paragon and Life Beyond
Travelling from world to world, he met many individuals but the strongest impact to him lay in a felinoid boy he fell in love with and bonded to. Together they fled his galactic home after being pursued for the powers they both possessed and founded a home in Paragon where heroism and their gifts were not persecuted but celebrated and needed. His mate was later killed by the same persecuters who had killed his mother and Taliesen went into exile for a time to deal with the death. He studied meditations and calming techniques and spiritualities in his exile under a mentor he had met in his travels and when he was better equipped, he returned to Paragon taking up his place, once again, as a protector of the city. He has found love again, inspiring him to further protect Paragon and the ones he loves. He was officially granted his Hero of the City status from Ms. Liberty on December 15th, 2008. He is now trying to decide what he wishes to do with himself now that he has achieved this highest honor.
Associations
Friends and loved ones
While attending school on his birth world, he met a young spirited wolf-fox anthro by the name of Minsha. She had been one of the only people he had actually succeeded in protecting from the world's terrors and perversities. Nevertheless, she suffered greatly in emotional scars from that world and it was through that support system that they formed a bond between them in a very 'you and me against the world' sense. They became very close and adopted one another as brother and sister as they were both, in essence, orphans. She traveled with him to Paragon and for a long time protected the city with him, but has moved on to other worlds to pursue her own emotional healing, her love of engineering and to practice in solitude her swordsmanship.
Special friends to Taliesen also include Cherry DeOrleans a young, peaceable pediatrics nurse in Paragon whom also works as an empathic hero for Paragon. They share a love of motorcycling and that sense of peace that comes with the healer's nature in both of them. Taliesen admires her total pacifism as he still finds himself having to resort to somewhat harmful tactics to arrest the criminals of Paragon. He has also befriended a technological Blaster by the name of Greyfade as well as an enigmatic shadow of a hero named Sting of Justice. He shares his home with a dark skinned catboy named Navarre whom he is partnered with. He considers their little apartment his 'fortress of solitude' of a sorts as this is where he seeks refuge and peace from the busy city.
Enemies and Nemesis
Taliesen has had enemies in his past from his home world in the form of the special forces that sought out and hunted down those who manifested powers such as he and his mother.
There does exist an alternate reality, darker version of Taliesen. (because, you know, lots have an evil version!)When Taliesen's lover was killed, Blind Requiem had two noteworthy options on how to deal with it. In a parallel universe, he chose to remain in Paragon and continue on without respite, guidance or at the time, companionship and support. This choice proved to be a terrible mistake for the young Nalron as the sorrow, loneliness and work combined wore heavily on him. In short time the sorrow and anger took it's hold on him, sending him into madness and revenge.
Questioning the whys of the injustice and the hatred of the failing system that hadn't managed to save his lover, he began delving into the entropic powers that earlier in his life harmed him and slowly his body began suffering the effects of it. In his anger and bitterness, he ignored the effects and the growing illness and as his powers grew more depraved, his body wilted further. His fur began to grey out, bristle and grow decayed in appearance, the skin beneath growing translucent and veined and finally his sight failed him.
After an incident of laying waste to an entire training facility of heroes he was sent to Zig where he stayed until a ripple of dimensional instability caused by Taliesen prime's slipping in and out of the Ouroboros gate where he too had been, cracked the very folds of time, crossing over into the current Taliesen's time line.
Taking advantage of the opening, Arachnos rescued him as well as many others, seeing an opportunity for further 'recruits'. Rescue being a relative term as he was quickly taken into servitude by a warped-minded Psionic who took him to the Rogue Island Pet Shelter where hebegan implementing unspeakable experiments on him.
Seeing him as nothing more than a mere animal, Doc Mesmer's experiments and training expanded the decaying corruption, further. He dubbed him Blind Corruption in reference of his current state of sightless decay then sent him out to do her bidding, under her control. He encouraged Taliesen's thirst for power, his bitter revenge, and his desire to destroy the failing system of the Hero Registry of Paragon and destroy those who harmed innocents. All of this resulted in honing a depraved love of power and inflicting torment on those he deemed deserved it and a pleasure in killing.
Blind Requiem has since worked his way back to a reformed state and has managed to find a place in Paragon as Moonlight Nocturne.
