No comments? For shame! Doctor Crom is an excellent character, Ascendant -- that rare villain that you can genuinely root for, and may very well be right in his cause. I'm a sucker for Dr. Crom stories! -- SusieBot 15:45, 2 November 2007 (MST)
Great character, great stories, and now a great tech writeup. (Yeah, I love that stuff too.) Cheers! --Megajoule 12:30, 15 November 2007 (MST)
What can I say buddy, Crom is my kinda evil. we should hang out more lol Human Miracle
Despite Doctor Crom's inspirations being listed primarily as Austin James and Master Menace, what I noticed when I was reading him was Vandal Savage. The DCAU version of him, to be precise. Brilliant engineer? Check. Both have created doomsday weapons and mechanical systems far more sophisticated than state-of-the-art technology, and on the 'brilliant' side of that, have also invented amazing master plans. Older than he has any right to be and still be operating as well as he does? Check. While 98 isn't 52000 years old, it's still incredible that he's not just alive, but active. Worked with the Axis during WW2? Check. Vandal Savage not merely sided with it, but took over Germany briefly using his advanced technology, wheras Doctor Crom was one of their greatest scientists. Has a future version who changed history by preventing the death/apparent death of one of Earth's greatest heroes, destroying a timeline where he was the only living being? Check. Episodes 45-46 (Herafter) of Justice League, and 'The Once and Future Crom' have some... interesting similarities.
In conclusion, I have to say that while it is enjoyable to read about Doctor Crom (And I can't say I've done anyone as cool myself), I find him more of a very well done Vandal Savage than I do a Doctor Doom Derivitive. Thrune 20:44, 12 September 2008 (MST)
You have an interesting page here. Very old fashioned. Kudos. Golden Champion 20:05, 10 April 2009 (MST)
I believe I've messaged you in-game with compliments, but I am compelled to compliment your work once more. The work you've put into Crom is obvious; it shows in the sheer clarity and cohesiveness of your writing. Everything is a fantastic read, and "I, Crom" is without a doubt one of the most fantastic bios I've read for a character. I wish I had the power of cohesion and flow that you seem to have. Great stuff.--Void Storm 17:06, 8 July 2010 (MST)
Thanks, Void! Glad you liked it! Ascendant
