Your character is cool! Batman inspired? With a bit of Moonknight? ~ User:Nitedevil168

Thanks! The costume is indeed somewhat Batman inspired. Moon Knight really makes sense, but I never knew anything about him until I saw him in Marvel Ultimate: Alliance, so that's just coincidence. I still don't know much about him other than that he looks cool.

The character herself was quite uninspired at first. It was Issue 2, I was fed up with playing my Inv/SS Tank, and I wanted someone that could move while punching things without getting stunned all the time, or having the ups and downs of perma-unstoppable. To date, I'd been making more X-Men like characters, and had never used a cape. So, I decided to make a DM/Regen scrapper with a silver-age style costume that would look good with a cape. For this character, I seemed to naturally gravitate towards a Batman-style costume. I don't remember intending it, but I know I thought of him when I picked the spiked gloves.

In the bio screen I quickly cooked up some convoluted backstory involving Tanya being a decendent of Mu, being sacrificed by the Circle of Thorns, regenerating (because of her Mu blood), and bashing a wizard over the head with a vase containing the sands of Mu, which mixed with her still healing wounds and gave her the dark punching powers. She also was over 50 for some reason (I guess I thought that was cool), but looked 18-20.

In short, I never really put much thought into her as an actual character until later.

Once I joined the Liberty League, my love for golden and silver age characters, as well as somewhat comedic characters, slowly grew. I eventually felt like NG's concept was a complete mess, so I revised (retconned!) her background to be what it is now. It feels much more "radioactive spider" to me now. Simple. Elegant. Totally preposterous.

Thanks for the comment, and wow, sorry it took me so long to respond! I didn't think to check the discussion tab until now. -- Night-Girl 21:46, 20 June 2007 (MST)
