V-Max is my second character ever and, after VERB, the one who skates closest to the copyright line. The only defense I can offer is that while he shares a gimmick, a mentor and even part of an origin with Viewtiful Joe, he's a hero for Paragon City - not Movieland. Kind of like how all Green Lanterns are the same, yet different, with their own sectors to watch over.

For such a simple and, yes, derivative character, he's undergone a lot of changes over the years. The first problem was his Origin; he's one of those characters with more than one, depending on how you look at it. I made him as a Tech character the first time ('cause most of his powers come from that watch), but when I got him to 22 and went to buy SOs, I realized immediately that just didn't fit after all. I rerolled him as Natural and, with the help of some friends and the lessons I learned the first time around, soon had him back up to the same level. I've also tweaked his costume as new parts became available, and his build as the changing game (ED, Great Defense Nerf, Inventions, etc) required it. He's also spent a lot of time on the shelf as I leveled and focused on other characters. Heck, I'm only now getting around to making a wiki page for him...
