Timefreak is a temporal scientist who moved to Paragon City from Tokyo, looking for better research opportunities with the advanced laboratories the city provided. He failed to take into account the increased crime of the city, and when Crey caught wind of his promising research into time travel, they raided his laboratory, stole his research, and sabotaged his equipment, causing an accident which caught Timefreak in a time warp distortion. He now moves through time three times faster than normal -- this includes talking and aging. He is currently cracking down on Crey attempting to retrieve his lost research and to find a way to control the time distortion he exists inside.

Personality
A man dedicated to the advancement of science and technology, he is in love with the high-tech possibilities that Paragon City offers. A bit of a comic book aficionado, he prefers the classic cartoon colors and spandex of silver age superheroes. For the most part he's fascinated by the superpowers of the residents of Paragon and enjoys spending long hours at Pocket D just to see what kind of superhumans he can meet. He is very serious about his research, and will run himself ragged to get it back, even attempting to start a fight in Pocket D when a few Crey operatives showed up. He has an affinity for fellow speedsters like himself as they can more easily keep up with his fast speech.

Timefreak is caught inside a time warp distortion, so to the outside he appears to be moving 3 times faster than normal. To his perspective, everyone else is moving 3 times slower, which can give him quite the advantage in a fight.
Primary Set
Martial Arts: With the lessened effect of gravity on him, his love for martial arts movies, and his increased reaction speed, Timefreak is able to perform some spectacular feats of combat, including flying roundhouses and kicks so fast and powerful they can knock a man back fifty feet, not to mention his favorite move from the Matrix movies: a rapid-fire burst of punches to the chest.
Secondary Set
Super Reflexes: Before the accident there was nothing remarkable about his reaction times, but with everything around him slowed down, he can see things coming a lot sooner, and has more time to move out of the way.

Fitness: Ever since deciding to go into crime fighting to utilize his abilities, Timefreak has been a frequent attendee of the local gym.

Affiliations
Volo: Met in Pocket D after hearing him brag about his speed, and challenged him to a five-lap race around the dance floor. After Timefreak lost miserably, they have struck up a comraderie and hang out in the D often.

Character history
After Yoshi Tanaka published a paper on time travel that caught the eye of Tony Kord, he was offered a very large grant to come to Paragon City and develop his theories and technologies further. After months of study, research, and tests, Tanaka was finally able to create a device that could manifest a personal pocket of time distortion, allowing someone to travel through time at a different speed. Unfortunately, this breakthrough came not long after Crey Industries had caught wind of Tanaka's research at Kord Technologies and they raided his laboratory, stealing all his research data and sabotaging the prototype device, which fired a time distortion pocket at Tanaka before exploding, leaving him trapped in the time warp.
Tanaka spent days searching his lab, looking for anything that had been left behind that might be able to help him in his predicament, but to no avail. After realizing what a high-risk investment Tanaka had become, Tony Kord cut funding to the project, leaving Tanaka on his own. Stuck without funding and without a way to reverse his condition, Tanaka realized that he could use the time warp to his advantage. Beginning physical training immediately and commissioning a costume from ICON, he created the hero alterego of Timefreak, to help him fight Crey Industries and get back his life's work.
He collaborated with ICON to develop a suit that incorporates his time distortion technology. The suit allows him to exert control over the time warp field surrounding him, giving him back a normal experience of the world as long as he wears it, and be able to go even faster if he so chooses.
But something seems to have gone wrong with the suit... After receiving a blast from a Rikti weapon, Timefreak finds himself experiencing lost time, blacking out, and other bizarre time-related occurances.
