Totempole is the costumed alias of Matthew Mason, a colorful superhero with the magical ability to draw superhuman powers from mystical "animal totems." Like the totempole that is his namesake, he can command three powers at once, affecting his head, torso, and legs, swapping out powers as needed to adapt to any situation.

Totems:
The Bird Totems:
- Hawk: This head totem grants incredibly accurate eyesight and increases flight speed when combined with other Bird totems.
- Falcon: This torso totem grants the ability to fly at high speed, and the power to slash foes with long-range "razor wind" attacks.
- Condor: This legs totem grants the ability to hover off the ground, and enables powerful wind-propelled kicks.
The Cat Totems:
- Panther: This head totem grants powerful scent and hearing, as well as increased stealthiness.
- Tiger: This torso totem grants powerful slashing claws and increased arm strength.
- Cheetah: This legs totem grants the power to run at super speed and perform powerful rapid kicking attacks.
The Bug Totems:
- Beetle: This head totem grants the power to spit potent acid attacks and antennae that can detect enemies.
- Scorpion: This torso totem grants a powerful venomous stinger on his right hand, and mighty crushing pincers on his left.
- Grasshopper: This legs totem grants the power to leap high in the air, and enables a potent aerial leaping attack.
The Aquatic Totems:
- Urchin: This head totem grants the power to breathe under water and to grow damaging spikes.
- Octopus: This torso totem grants flexible tendril strikes from his arms, which can wrap around an enemy and ensnare them.
- Shark: This legs totem grants the power to swim with great speed and maneuverability, and can propel him out of the water in mighty leaps.
The Beast Totems:
- Rhinoceros: This head totem grants increased strength and a powerful charge attack, as well as increasing toughness.
- Gorilla: This torso totem grants mighty strength and great crushing arms, as well as increasing toughness.
- Zebra: This legs totem grants increased speed and powerful kicks, as well as increasing toughness.
The Mountain Totems:
- Ram: This head totem grants greatly increased resistance to mental attacks and a powerful headbutt strike.
- Bear: This torso totem grants great strength, sharp claws, and increased climbing skill.
- Coyote: This legs totem grants a bushy tail and increased leaping and running speed, as well as increased agility and balance.
The Reptile Totems:
- Cobra: This head totem grants tremendously increased reflexes and the power to spit venom.
- Python: This torso totem grants extending and crushing arms to constrict foes, as well as increasing resilience.
- Crocodile: This legs totem grants a powerful tail and swimming abilities, and greatly increases leg strength.
The Lost Totems:
These animals are lost to time, having died out milennia ago. Since Mason can only bond with living animals, accessing these totems may well be impossible.
- Sabretooth Tiger: This head totem grants mighty sabretooth fangs and greatly increased strength.
- Dire Wolf: This torso totem grants sharp claws and greatly increased arm strength.
- Mastodon: This legs totem grants tremendously powerful leg strength and a foot stomp attack.
The Dinosaur Totems:
Like the Lost totems, these creatures are extinct, so it is unknown if Mason could ever attune himself to them and gain their power. However, if he ever found a way, they could provide him with a massive power boost.
- Triceratops: This head totem grants powerful horns and tremendously increased durability.
- Pterodactyl: This torso totem grants wide, leathery wings to fly and tremendously increased agility.
- Tyrannosaurus: This legs totem grants a powerful tail and strengthened legs, and tremendously increased strength.
The Mythical Totems:
Though they remain entirely hypothetical, the mythical creatures from Earth's myths and legends would likely be far more powerful than the other totems. However, Mason would be hard-pressed to find any such creatures to bond with and perhaps will never gain their power.
- Wendigo: This head totem grants incredibly powerful regenerative healing and a frigid ice breath.
- Thunderbird: This torso totem grants lightning-fast flight and electric attacks, and the ability to move as quickly as lightning.
- Phoenix: This legs totem grants a fiery tail and greatly increased flight speed, scorching fire-kicks, and the power to be revived if defeated.
