Has a damaged memory. |
The Unknown Stickman is a Security Level 37 Peacebringer, of the Technology origin. He is currently a member of the The Steadfast Pact. Unknown Stickman was created and is played by IanTheM1.
Unknown Stickman, generally just called Stickman, is a robot from another planet that is simultaneously naive but immensely powerful. Despite this inherent conflict, the Unknown Stickman is generally played as a humorous character.

Origin
A short time ago, a spherical space craft crash landed in the ocean just off the coast of Paragon City. Aboard that pod was a small black robot. Making it to shore, he realized that his memory circuits were heavily damaged and wandered into the city of heroes to attempt to repair his memory and learn more of this planet.
He eventually found himself in the then bustling Gemini Park, where various heroes helped him learn English, which he surprisingly picked up quickly. One such hero was the Warshade known as Blightbane. The two made fast friends and Stickman was ushered into The Steadfast Pact.
After raiding the Pact's library for knowledge, Stickman followed a strange energy pattern to a truck in Kings Row. Stickman was surprised as he was swept into Pocket D. It was here that he'd learn even more of Earth and its culture, including all manner of weird things, like knitting and dancing.
Powers, Abilities, and Quirks
Luminous Blast
Via his strange power source, the Unknown Stickman can project bright bursts of energy at his foes. This also includes powerful melee attacks that can effortlessly toss grown men across rooms.
Luminous Aura
Using his strange power source, the Unknown Stickman can shield himself, as well as automatically repair damage sustained in combat. Another notable ability is that he can focus to make his energy output hyper-efficient.
Flight
Stickman's energy source also allows him to fly.
Damaged Memory
Due to the rough landing and flooding of his entry craft, Stickman's memory was damaged. Why he even crashed on Earth in the first place is unknown to him, along with almost all other elements of his identity and purpose.
By quickly reading through books and listening to conversations, he's managed to learn English remarkably fast and has a solid grasp on the ins and outs of Paragon City.
Storylines
Unknown Stickman: Rebirth
The story of Rebirth tells of Unknown Stickman's coming to Earth, and the villain Energy Bleed's attempt to capture him.
The currently available chapters of Rebirth are published here.
Justice!Stickman
The Unknown Sickman on Virtue is in fact a re-imagined version of IanTheM1's second character ever, who lives on the Justice server. Due to a typo along with the old name limit, this version is actually called "Uknown Stickman" ingame.
The Justice version of Stickman has a nearly complete backstory and history, unlike his successor. However, details of that history are currently unpublished.
In contrast to his counterpart, Justice!Stickman knows fully of his past, and is much edgier overall. His powers are defined as Martial Arts/Regen.
Heads or Tails
An unpublished four-part miniseries where some of Justice!Stickman's activities align with events being felt by Assembled Girl. These chapters a lead-in to...
Of Masks and Minds
In the Assembled Girl storyline Of Masks and Minds, Justice!Stickman slipped between dimensions (see below) and ended up inside Assembled Girl's own mindscape, where she was being held captive by Vanessa DeVore.
Stickman was unable to rescue her personally, but his single powerful blow against DeVore later allowed her to be defeated.
The phenomenon experienced by Stickman (and subsequently Assembled Girl, later seen in Assembled Girl's Obsolesence and Obliteration) was due to a buildup of "portal particles"; particles produced by the portals held at Portal Corp. When a powerful enough psychic command is applied in the presence of a large number of them, objects or people can be thrown or pulled into other dimensions.
Scientific notes were written on the subject: THE EFFECTS OF 'PSYCHIC' ENERGY ON PORTALS AND VIS VERSA, by Henry Lorche. This report can be found here.
Creator Notes and Trivia
- Virtue!Stickman is supposed to sound like a "robotic Spongebob Squarepants", eternally excited, curious, and friendly.
- The concept of the Stickmen comes from IanTheM1's fascination with the XiaoXiao flash series along with an affinity for simple but expressive art (see XKCD). Those, combined with a sci-fi twist, led to the action hero of Justice!Stickman.
