Background

Having no memory of who her parents are or what has happened to them, Vella doesn't seem to care. She was orphaned shortly after she was born, found on the steps of a Steel Canyon orphanage, with a note on the blanket she was rolled up in, saying her name. She was raised by the attending nuns at the orphanage, both being from Europe. Where her accent came from as she spent most of her childhood with them as she didn't make many friends. She showed a talent of art from her classwork but otherwise she wasn't a grade A student.

Shortly after getting into high-school her life started to fall down the slope into gangs and violence. She joined a gang from school and eventually gave up on her school work altogether. Her artwork evolved into tattoo work and did the gangs tattoo jobs that was needed for the gang colors. The gang brought all its members together which protected all its members during the first rikti invasion. When the gang became large enough, the need for money and street credit became a factor. Having fallen in for the gang's leader, Vella supported the gang on its decision to rob a bank.

Robbing the bank wasn't as much a big deal as it was surviving it, with the influx of super powered heroes, it required timing to pull off such a heist. The gang, including Vella, broke into the bank. The more violent members took their weapons and used them to instill fear into the customers and the employees. Vella's instincts started to take over and she began calming the customers the best she could. To get the vault door open the gang used stolen or home-made explosives. Vella went to the vault to check on its progress when the cops arrived. The gang started to panic as a hero joined the cops outside the bank. The explosives were triggered on accident and knocked the large vault door from its hinges. Vella and the gang-leader were in the way of the door's descent to the floor, Vella, pushed her boyfriend out of the way of the door and was crushed and pinned underneath the door. Vella lost her left hand that day as the door landed on her, the sheer weight and the distorted metal had crushed her hand and wrist behind repair. Hearing the explosion the hero charged into the bank, the cops in their wake. Vella's closest friends were among those that surrendered immediately, however the more violent members fought back and even stalled the hero and the cops long enough for her boyfriend to make his escape. They found Vella under the vault door, going into shock from the pain and the loss of blood. She was evacuated to the hospital.

Vella woke in the hospital with her hand missing and a lawyer at her door, offering her a deal to lower her sentence. Vella agreed, and helped the police and hero-corps catch the remaining members of the gang and her boyfriend. Feeling betrayed at his actions, Vella testified against him, and they sent him to the Zig for life. Vella was sent back to the hospital to serve her remaining time for her crimes. The hospital hired a doctor to attach a new hand to her arm but since poor craftsmanship and being cheap this proved to make Vella suffer in pain.

Criminal Events

After serving her time Vella moved out of the states to the Rogue Islands. There she started to reform her own gang, the fromer members being her key members. Together they did work in the isles to get money to pay for Vella's new drug habit. Using the excuse, which no one blamed her for, she was in pain. Rogue agents of Arachnos sought to use Vella as a tool for promotion into the higher echelons of Arachnos, upgrading her artificial arm with force field technologies. These force fields allow Vella and her gang to safely fight under their cover without worrying much of hostile fire. Ultimately these Rogue agents were found and killed for their actions, but Vella was free to go as she was only a pawn.

Vella's work took her many places and her control over the fields improved, she was eventually sent to a parallel dimension to collect information or energy from its residents. It's residents however were ghosts, who over the acts of revenge, revealed to Vella this was a plane were Vella became so powerful and so evil and twisted she had destroyed the world. Snapping her from her haze, Vella vowed to change her ways for the better.<br

Powers and their abilities.

Thugs
Members of Vella's gang. She is their leader and she supports them from behind the line of fire. Each member has their own quirks and abilities. Vella carries with her a pair of pistols she uses to occasionally fire back at her opponents.
((ooc)) Vella controls them subconsciously via nanite implants (see other powers) that have grown inside her gang member's brains influencing their actions and improving their reactions to Vella.
Force field manipulation
Having replaced her robotic hand with a cybernetic implant, Vella can still create strong fields to protect herself and those close to her.
Using new robotic nanites programmed under Vella's control, she has greatly improved her staying powers and her abilities beyond being human. Along her core bones, starting from her pelvis all the way to her shoulders, her bones have been covered in metal to protect from harm, her ribs now protected in metal and making her body stronger to support more advanced tools.
Mu Mastery
She can used charged energy as a weapon, hurling bolts of electricity to surround her foes and hold them in place. She can also charge her shields protecting herself to absorb damage.
((ooc)) Her nanites having been programmed to gather energy from within her body, like in the matrix, she has a constant flow of power. Attached along her ribs and spine, nanites have constructed capacitors allowing her to store large amounts of energy.
Teleportation and Flight
Vella can hover by manipulating fields to keep her floating in the air. Teleportation is achieved by expending large amounts of energy to rip either a hole in space and go through to the other end or she stops time momentarily and reappears at her destination.
((ooc)) She can only manipulate time involving herself.
Roleplaying Powers ((ooc))
Nanites in her blood stream allow for her to regenerate most wounds without to much trouble, greater damage takes more time to repair but can not be killed from blood loss. She can take large blows to much of her body, resulting in bruising but bones are harder to break. Since her nanites are in a constant state of working, if pressured, her reaction time quickens and her speed increase to the point of dodging bullets and blows. She absorbs electrical energy from power outlets, lights, machinery, and people who used energy near her. Vampires attempting to drink her blood would be shocked, physically and emotionally, if they attemped to bite her without permission. Mental intrusions are detected and blocked be her nanites generating their own fields to protect the brain, causing her massive amounts of pain.
