Vendel
From Unofficial Handbook of the Virtue Universe
Vendel Was my first hero idea. The basic idea I had for him has not really changed. Nor has his colors (black and purple). Although I did flirt with making him a MA scrapper, I changed that 3 days into the beta. He is still my favorite "City of" character.

Personality
Vendel is quiet and reserved at most times. Although in public he is very talkative, often cracking jokes in the middle of battle. Often at the expense of his teammates. Is not "gun shy" in the least. Often hurling himself in the middle of a battle without regard for his own safety.
Powers
Vendel has extensive military training. His is an expert with most kinds of weapons. His "cyborging" has given him tremendous leg strength and speed which he uses to great effect to quickly get into, and out of battle.
Assault Rifle
Back in the day Vendel would not have used such an "all-in-one" weapon. It is bulky and heavy. But his recent upgrades (and the need to be ready for any situation) has made this the perfect weapon for him.
Devices
Advanced targeting drones, cloaking devices, smoke grenades, trip mines. Sometimes it's good to have connections in the military.
Implants
Vendel has had significant modification done to his body. His reflexes , strength , eyesight, and memory are all improved. His leg strength is particular has been dramatically increased. He can run at speeds up to 60mph and leap hundreds of yards.
Character History
Vendel is a veteran of the Rikti War. He was a completely normal human at that point. Albeit a Lt. Colonel with a top secret Special Forces unit know only as “The Centurions”.
During the war Vendel and Co. fought in many engagements, most were successful. The last one though was the finial mission Vendel would see during the war. He was caught in a massive explosion. His squad (which included best friend Gaidan) was forced to retreat, leavening Vendel behind. Grief stricken Gaidan retired shortly thereafter.
After the battle clean up crews found Vendel…or what was left of him. Amazingly he was still alive (although just barely). With this information the DoD took him personally to be treated. Lt. Colonel Vendel was an investment the government was not ready to give up on.
