Viridian Vision is a young man that once resided in Praetoria. Most aren't even aware that he has this alias. Because of his family, upbringing, beliefs, and circumstances, his family was continuously being hounded by PPD and The Seers. Now that his family has left Praetoria, they currently live on Primal Earth in a place called Paragon City in Rhode Island.

Lineage

Several things to note before we get into this man.

Hamidon Wars

Over 50 years prior to this man's birth, the planet itself was in a major crisis. The Devouring Earth were taking over. Square inch by square inch, they lay claim to the lands as they "cleanse" it from what the humans have done from it. Pollution, ruins, nuclear warfare.

Bit by bit, the populous would begin to flock to the eastern seaboard of what was known as the United States. It had to have been the safest place on the planet thanks to the efforts of a soldier named Marcus Cole. The Takeda family from Japan were no exception to this. The journey from the Pacific to the western side of the Atlantic was no cakewalk but they managed to get through despite the invading Devouring Earth.

The Takeda

Naginatajutsu (薙刀術) master Inahime Takeda (武田稲姫) and Iga Ninjutsu (伊賀忍術) master Sougen Takeda (武田創玄) were one of the few refugees from Japan who made it to the eastern seaboard of the then-U.S. without being injured. With them were two children: Souichi Takeda (武田宗一), their biological son; and Setsuka Terashima (寺島雪歌), a young girl whose family was a family-friend of the Takeda's (her parents have already been killed by the invading Devouring Earth).

While staying at a local shelter for refugees, the Takeda would continue training in their respective arts and passing down their skills to the two children, hoping that once they grow older, they will marry and have their own. They would lay witness to Cole winning everyone's hearts over (or at least, almost everyone) and would watch as the war ended and everything would be rebuilt for better living.

Praetoria

Over the next twenty or so years, Sougen and Inahime would raise both Souichi and Setsuka with the notion that they were the only ones who can pass down their skills and customs and traditions. It would seem like they will, though they would also assimilating with the people around them. Especially so when Cole is appointed by the rest of the people "Emperor." To Sougen and Inahime, it was reminiscent of Japan during the Meiji Era. However, they were both under the impression that the Devouring Earth could have been stopped before it got as bad as it did. This knowledge was passed down to both Souichi and Setsuka. (And they would later pass this down to their child. More on this later.)

Life would prove to be quite prosperous for the Takeda. At the age of 28 and 27 respectively, Souichi and Setsuka were legally wed. Despite being an arranged marriage from the time they were both children, they did (and still do) love each other. They continued to train in Iga Ninjitsu arts and were eventually declared as masters by their father, Sougen.

Eventually, Setsuka would become pregnant with her first child. Because of the advancement of technology, science, and the environment, her pregnancy would go through without a hitch and she would give birth to her son who she would name Seiji.

Seiji

And now, to the man this article is truly about.

Birth & Childhood

Seiji Takeda (武田星二) was born on April 20, 1987 in what is now known as Imperial City in Praetoria. As a child, they attempted to raise Seiji with traditional customs but that would prove to be difficult despite their government structure having a lot of similarities towards Japan's Meiji Era. Seiji, however, would be an upbeat but polite kid.

As soon as Seiji was able, his grandfather and his father began training him in Iga Ninjitsu arts. As expected of a Takeda, Seiji would quickly pick up on the skills and techniques.

While just out living their lives, they would "feel" something "strange." No one in the family could really figure out what this was and while that concerned everyone, Sougen was concerned the most. He immediately assumed that there was something wrong with this place.

Utopia Gone to Hell

This prosperous life would soon come to an end. PPD and Seers were on high alert on this night and the entire family was immediately apprehended. At least, they attempted to apprehend the entire family. Unfortunately for these PPD and Seers, they were not aware of what the Takeda family was capable of. PPD attempted to arrest Sougen, Souichi, and Inahime for suspicion of conspiracy against the Emperor. As many times as they verbally protested that notion, PPD still needed to take them to the Precinct for questioning. The three agreed that they saw no credible reason for it and this is where Setsuka intervened.

Further resistance from them then would place another fault on their list for resisting arrest and it would be here where a stand-off would occur. As skilled as they were, they were no match for The Seers because they could scan their thoughts.

The result of this standoff would be the murder of all PPD and Seers on the scene. And grandparents Sougen and Inahime. From this day forth, Souichi and Setsuka declared an enemy out of the Cole Administration, and these deaths would haunt young Seiji for a long time.

On The Move

Ever since that event, the remaining Takeda family would find themselves being constantly hounded by PPD. Not because they were put on Wanted Posters or anything like that, but their thoughts kept getting the attention of The Seers and would immediately be passed on to the PPD for their impending arrest. After having to relocate a total of 25 times in a period of six months, the Takeda reluctantly sought shelter in The Underground. As much they didn't want to go there, it would the be only choice should they decide to free themselves from the Seer Network and to flee from the cops. Thankfully, they'd never know where they went off to.

Resistance

Here, they would halfway find solace from the intruding minds of The Seers and meet with Warden members of The Resistance. They would find that not all members of The Resistance were savage beasts. There are actually others who do not wish to hurt the citizenry and save them from Cole, and Seiji's parents joined their cause. He would opt to do the same once Seiji was fully capable.

At the age of 12, it would be here where Seiji learned of what happened when his mother and father (as children) first moved to Praetoria due to the invading Devouring Earth. He also told that the Devouring Earth could have been stopped. While his grandparents had no exact details on how it could have been, it was something both Souichi and Setsuka believed. Of course, Seiji would believe the same.

As soon as they felt it safe enough to head back to the surface, the family would find residence in the Four Gables neighborhood in Imperial City. They thought that because the area was more concentrated with Syndicate members, it'd give them a better chance at not being bothered by the cops. Here, Seiji would formally go to school and he would prove to be academically adept, earning very good grades during his high school years.

Contemplations

At 17, Seiji would graduate high school and would try to blend in with the citizenry of Praetoria. Unfortunately, this was not meant to be. The Seers would once again detect their minds and the cops would be after the family time after time after time. This endless circle of trouble would it make it very difficult for the Takeda to live in peace, and this would make it very difficult for any of them to blend in with the rest of the Praetorians and lead normal and active lives.

Seiji is now 23 and he can exactly count the number of times they've had to relocate. 314. When last seen in Praetoria, he and his parents lived in the Lambda Sector of Neutropolis and it had been a miracle that they hadn't had to relocate in 4 months.

That is... until a night in Pocket D proved to be a stressful night for Seiji and a Primal friend, Caleb. It would seem that another ninja (of a different art) would start trouble. Seiji would shortly leave and head back home. Unfortunately, his family would once again be forced to relocate. The cops would hound them once more.

At that point, Seiji was fed up. He had been through this dance for about 20 years. He is tired of the mental intrusions, the cops constantly trying to arrest them, and he's tired of Praetoria in general. Seiji had already been presented the chance to leave Praetoria and start a new life on Primal Earth, but his parents were strongly against this. He had been trying to find a way to convince them that Primal Earth was the only way they're going to live a relatively normal life. But of course, that's easier said than done.

Seiji attempted a separation method. He first tried reasoning with his mother. Setsuka seemed more receptive to the idea. They could continue training him (out in the open for that matter) and they wouldn't have to worry about being arrested. She could think whatever she wanted without feeling intruded and later being reprimanded for it. After weighing out the pros and cons to his mother, Seiji now tried to do the same to his father. While Souichi was very apprehensive about this, he came to realize that there would be nothing lost in trying. When the three came to an agreement, they would walk down that path of heading towards a new life on Primal Earth.

Seiji would make sure that their family's public records (criminal and otherwise) are deleted from the databanks of the Ministry of Information before heading off to Primal Earth. While it was not necessarily required, Seiji felt that it needed to be done out of principle.

Into the world of Primals

Having been helped by Caleb, Seiji and his family were able to get a very nice place to live in the Talos Island sector of Paragon City, Rhode Island. Not only that, but Seiji applied for a hero license (at Caleb's advice) and do good amongst the city. He and his family have a lot to be thankful for, of course. So far, the three of them are all enjoying life. No intrusions, no being arrested. Most of all, they're free. Sure it's cheesey, but they haven't felt like this for over 20 years so who could blame them?
