Background

Beginnings

Adrian lead a pretty average life. He worked hard, or as hard as he had to in order to get by, and wasted all of his leisure time on nothing in particular. When pressed for a career choice, he tended to answer things like MILLIONAIRE or ARCHDUKE. In his aimless sort of way, he blundered into college and lasted about two semesters on a business degree before dropping out. Not overly daunted, though vaguely aware he had disappointed his parents, Adrian toiled in smalltime part-time jobs until landing entry level work as a used car salesman. His middling work ethic meant that he barely met sales targets and was thus overlooked for promotion more than once. A self-fulfilling prophecy of mediocrity kept him in place for years - even transferring to an out-of-town dealership in Galaxy City did nothing to shake him from his rut.

Birth of Impulsive Man

This all in mind, Adrian wasn't an unhappy man until a little after his thirtieth birthday. He woke up and for the first time was aware that he was a goalless, loveless, sad little man who would remain so indefinitely. For some, this might have prompted an honest re-assessment of life. Others might have been crushed under the weight of the revelation. Adrian... Adrian faced his early mid-life crisis square on, hands on his hips, and then got ready and went to work. The day Galaxy City fell, he punched his manager, customers, coworkers... a passerby earned a particular impressive spin-kick he was proud of! And then he ran like hell.
