Mahargenin (pronounced mah-HAHR-guh-nin) is an enigmatic and mysterious figure of unknown race, assumed as a human by most. His memorable royal purple and pale green costume sticks out amongst the norm, as well as his odd combination of superpowers. Residing in the Rogue Isles, he goes wherever there is money to be made, earning him the title "villain". He is a mutant Corruptor with a threat level of 50.


Powers

Mahargenin's right hand can manipulate charged particles, seemingly summoning them from nowhere, and then fire them at his victims to cause severe pain, with his infamous Cosmic Burst attack known to even cause terrible dizziness. This nasty method of assault is known as "Radiation Blast". On the contrary, his left hand has control over ice and cold, known as "Cold Domination". While his Cold powers don't inflict direct damage, they can drastically slow, weaken, and even drain enemies. While other Cold Corruptors have been known to be able to craft shields out of ice, Mahargenin never bothered to learn how, due to his single-minded nature.

Mahargenin, like most residents of Paragon City and the Rogue Isles, also has inhuman fitness, and can run, jump, and recover from wounds at remarkable speed. He also knows some Maneuvers, to include listing lazily to the left.

Associations

The Sixth Column

A once great Hero Supergroup devoted to destroying the 5th Column and Council. Many of Mahargenin's friends from Paragon have direct or indirect relations with the Column. Led by the man called Twig, soldiers of the Column bear the title "Nacht" before their names. Mahargenin's arch-nemesis, Mega Rahinn, is also rumored to have ties to the Sixth.

Mega Rahinn

Once Mahargenin's friend and neighbor, Mega Rahinn engaged in a battle of spite with Mahargenin in his pre-mutant days. When Mahargenin attained super-villain mutant status, however, Rahinn took matters into his own hands and began a campaign to prove superiority over Mahargenin once and for all. Rahinn rearranged the letters of Mahargenin to create his superhero moniker, and crafted a "more heroic" version of Mahargenin's signature attire. Having no real superpowers, and thus fighting only with his bare fists, Mega Rahinn's abilities are still developing, but he eagerly awaits the day he and Mahargenin battle for the final time.

Nacht Ihr Vati

A Paragon Scrapper who wields a Talsorian blade. Ihr Vati is one of the last remaining members of the Sixth Column. He and Mahargenin, despite being "opposing forces", seem to be allies, and are often seen fighting alongside each other in the Rikti War Zone and Warburg.

Dark Lord Necros

A noble from another dimension, Lord Necros has come to Earth to search for the cure to his world's flesh-eating plague (hence his ghastly appearance). Mahargenin has gone to Lord Necros for assistance time and time again, and for this, he owes Necros much. He is a mentor-figure to Mahargenin, and in combat summons his servants to aid him. Like Mahargenin, he is not truly evil, simply on a mission and willing to spare nothing to get what he needs.

Chernobyl's Fist

A fiery Tanker with immense strength. Fist got his powers from the fallout in the Chernobyl cataclysm. Though not seen much of late, he remains a friend and rival of Mahargenin.

Black Scorpion

A Patron of Lord Recluse and leader of the Wolf Spiders and Tarantulas within Arachnos. Black Scorpion, a.k.a. Ernesto Rodriguez, is encased in a massive armor suit that grants him immense strength. After Mahargenin took down Dr. Quatrexin, Black Scorpion gave him a Bane Spider Mace and taught him how to use it effectively. In time, Mahargenin discarded his teachings and instead studied under Captain Mako. Black Scorpion was not amused.

Vanguard

Vanguard is an organization led by Lady Grey and backed by the United Nations. Vanguard is dedicated to fighting off the invading Rikti forces. Mahargenin is an official member of Vanguard, and since his initiation, has joined the Mothership raiding efforts twice and earned himself a near-full suit of Vanguard's trademark impervium armor.

Primary Battle Attacks

Sleet: A drop-power that does damage to all foes trapped inside, as well as weakening their Defense, Resistance, and Speed. A staple in Mahargenin's arsenal, but can be escaped from... technically.

Cosmic Burst: A lethal blast of countless particles. This burst inflicts extreme energy damage, lowers Defense, and can even Stun the target. Quite the nasty move, but must be used in close-range.

Benumb: A dreadfully cold blast that cripples the target. Numbed foes, especially those also caught in Sleet, are easy pickings for Mahargenin. It halves the target's damage output, drains some Endurance, lowers the foe's regenerative rate, and also weakens the effects of the victim's secondary effects, like heals, mezzes, and debuffs.

Power Boost: A newly learned technique, Power Boost makes all of Mahargenin's mezzes, buffs, debuffs, and other secondary effects far more potent. He tends to use this before launching a quick volley of Cold powers, followed by Cosmic Burst or Total Focus.

Total Focus: Speaking of which, Mahargenin has also learned the legendarily powerful attack known as Total Focus, complete mastery over Energy Melee, which is odd considering it's the only Energy Melee power he has. Normally limited to Brutes, Stalkers, and Tankers, Mahargenin found Total Focus' strength far too appealing to let some imposed limit stop him from exploiting it to the fullest.


Neutrino Bolt: This wimpy attack helps bide time and keep foes on their toes. It is the most basic Radiation Blast attack, dealing minimal damage, but Mahargenin can use it very quickly and not tire a bit. With the introduction of Movement Suppression, it can effectively be used like a slow power, keeping enemies in close enough range for a Cosmic Burst.

Heat Loss: A key component to Mahargenin's Cold Domination lineup, rightfully earning its place as the "9th tier" power. This interesting attack absorbs the heat energy from the target and all foes around it, effectively draining their Endurance, recovery rate, and Damage Resistance. A hefty chunk of Endurance is then bestowed upon Mahargenin and all nearby allies, as well as buffing his own Endurance recovery. Heat Loss can easily turn the tide of a battle.

Musculature: The beginning of Mahargenin's foray into Incarnate Abilities, the Musculature Alpha power grants all of his attacks a considerable damage buff, but it can become much more powerful in time.

Void Judgment: Mahargenin's second unlocked Incarnate Ability, Void Judgment is a frigid blast of negative energy erupting from Mahargenin's body that causes obscene damage.
