About Next Gen

A privately funded company by mutants for mutants, Next Gen is an organization where young Homo superior can train and socialize together, forming contacts and working relationships. The silent agenda of the organization is to prevent two alternate futures that so far, very closely resembles this one...

Inception

The brainchild of Galaxyan and the now deceased Xtraction, Next Gen is an organization created to prevent two dark futures from coming to fruition.

In early 2008, Impact-X and Xtraction came across the enigmatic mutant known as Galaxyan. A sharing of their two histories(Galaxyan from a future where mutants attempted to control the world, Impact-X from one where Vanguard eliminated or controlled super-humans) made them realize that while working to counter their individual futures, they were effectively canceling each others efforts. Deciding upon a path, the three planned to reconvene four months later and set their plan into motion.

Four months later Xtraction was dead after a rescue attempt for his son, Reignstrike. In his place the mutant Dayrunner, an officer under Xtractions command from the alternate reality, was recruited. The plan went ahead with the formation of "Next Gen Incorporated". The three formed the Board of Directors for the corporation and broke the organization down into three components:

Genesis Academy

The research & development arm of the company. In addition, this is the training component of the organization. based primarily out of their main facility, it is more structured in the form of a college campus, with a full faculty headed by Ms Lightnyng as Headmistress.

The NEXT team

The security and public relations arm of the company. Composed of graduates from the "Genesis Academy" program and established mutants, the NEXT program is a security firm that also functions as a charity and goodwill organization. While their hired work is looked down on by the media, the charitable acts performed by the group counteracts most questionable press they receive. Balancing between heroes and hired muscle, this component of the organization is headed by Galaxyan.

"Recon X"

A rumor started by maligned forces against the Next Gen organization, this paramilitary unit supposedly answers to no one and will do anything, even kill, to complete a task. There is no known leader to this arm, or any proof that it exists at all.

The creation of this multi-billion dollar organization came about under the codename "Operation Genesis".

"Operation Genesis"

"Operation Genesis" was a three step process by which Next Gen's corporate side was formed. A financial plan, Galaxyan set the initial steps into motion by purchasing stock in select tech companies and then selling his twenty years advanced technology to the same companies for millions.

Step two of Genesis was the selling of the purchased stock for billions, as news of the advanced technology was spread via the internet and media and prices skyrocketed.

Step three involved purchasing thousands of shares of stock in smaller independent research and tech companies and then selling Xtraction and Impact-X's forty years advanced technology to those same companies.

In a span of a week and a half, Next Gen managed to bankrupt over thirty-six companies who bore some sort of connection to both their dark futures, while maintaining a hold on anyone who might try and fill the void. Multiple charges were pressed against Next Gen, only to be stalled by the legal firm of Blackwell and Associates, newly purchased by Next Gen. The first hearing is set for the summer of 2021.

The Next Gen Facility

NextGenHQ.jpg

Purchased and constructed in 2008 as a central headquarters and situated on Talos Island, The Gen Tower stands thirty five stories above ground and fifteen below. The first ten stories make up the administrative component of Next Gen. The next fifteen are classrooms and training facilities for Genesis Academy. The final two floors are a mustering area for emergency teams and a penthouse office. The underground floors are sensitive security areas for Next Gen.
